Great tips about the DIY sun shield and the place to stash some ear plugs. I’m always learning from ya!

Head shape is crucial. The only helmet I've found, so far, that fits my long oval head is an Arai Signet-X. It would be great if they were less expensive, but a proper fitting/headache-free helmet is worth it to me. For reference, I have a 59.7cm long oval head and the large Arai Signet-X fits perfectly.

Best thing I learned years ago = "...if you have a $100 head - go ahead, buy a $100 helmet..."
    (( don't be cheap people !!))

After growing up on and around motorcycles and gaining more than a little wisdom
I "found" Arai helmets. I invested in their Arai Corsair X helmet and couldn't be happier.
    Great information, thanks Nick!

I clicked on this for the TZ 250 I hope that its still doing track duty...great information on ear plugs I started wearing them when I saw my coworker had them (way back in the early 90s) so I tried them and feel abused if I ride without them, I recommend them to people but most of them don't like them don't know why maybe when their older and they can't hear as well because of wind noise they'll start.

Good stuff Nick. Nobody does head shape better than Arai. The Arai RX-7V is also one of the few helmets that's FIM certified. Rocking the Chinmount to. I've got two full videos on the chatterbox units, one on how to use and one client review. What did Arai tell you to use for spay cleaning of visor?

I wish there was a service where I could scan my alien head shape and recommend the perfect fit.

I always thought the same thing, even for getting the right boot fit, be it motorcycle, snowboard, skis, etc. Today I seen an advert from an Australian company Bodd- Advance Scanning Technology that does body scans, this gives me hope that it is possible.

What about the different certification standards? I’ve heard that ECE is better for motorcyclists than Snell and I’ve seen some manufacturers only offer a certification for the market it’s sold in (for instance, ECE not available on helmets sold in the USA. Thanks.

What are you spraying the visor and helmet with, plain water or a diluted alcohol solution?

Great information. I'll have to see about selling a kidney or two so that I can get a couple for my wife and I. Very nice helmets, indeed!

There’s absolutely no reason to not fasten your chin strap
