They were gunning on a safety care since it's a street circuit. Considering how the probability of a safety car has dropped significantly since drivers this season have shown to be more careful and the cars have been more reliable it was a stupid move.
His statement felt like the team asked him to say something. So random having that the noise of that race drama was dying down. 😂 I think sabotage is extreme, but naturally he was always going to lose favour in the team.
LH44 has 104 pole positions, the next best has 68. How is it possible that all over sudden he doesn't know how to prepare his tires? How is it possible that he can prepare well through Fp 1 to Fp 3 then not during qualifying? How is it possible that Russell says he copied Lewis data to successfully set a fast qualifying lap, yet Lewis can't. There is so much that just doesn't make sense
the guy is pushing 40's and he has never been a GOAT qualifier at the level of Senna ( despite the stats ) and he never had teammates that excelled on Saturdays .Alonso. The moment he mimics Cam Cc and goes scorched earth, his credibility will be questioned and will be labeled washed. When he protects his teammates, his Merc family he gains their respect and cements his legacy. When choosing this path his fans know he is still mentally strong enough to plan to compete. People really finding it hard to believe Lewis at the back end of his career is having some struggles. The reality is being fast in FP has never been considered that important until TeamLH used it to reference Lewis losing pace over a weekend when we dont even know the fuel loads lol. Half the time if people bothered to look at the race runs they would see that FP1 and FP2 can paint a fake picture add to that, for the first time in a while most of the good drivers in F1 actually have a good car so Lewis is having to scrap it out. For the majority of his Mercedes Success, he always had a car advantage and a clearly inferior teammate that is no longer the case. Lewis in the past could afford to be at 80% and still beat Bottas, that is no longer the case he has to be perfect every weekend if he wants to get on the podium and he hasnt been. Different cars don't suit everybody. Lewis has never really looked the same in these ground effect cars just like Vettel wasnt the same in the hybrid era. Charles Leclerc has WAAYYY more botched strategies than Lewis has EVER had at Merc and sabotage would never be a question, Lewis needs to control his insecuritys before he gets to Ferrari because he wont last long if he starts insinuating sabotage everytime his race goes wrong Ferrari dont take kindly to public critique by there drivers.
