    If you want the easiest leaf cleanup you can imagine, you need this Sweep-All Turf Sweeper. With it's electronic push-button dump, you don't ever have to leave your seat (well, if you choose to leave your seat when you're finished sweeping, that's probably a good idea). We put it to its first test today in our new neighbor's lawn, where the leaves hadn't been touched all season. Tested today is the PSP 4348, which is the 48" version, in Turf Green. Powered by the rear PTO on our 1025R, we just hook up and go. Whether you drive a compact or subcompact tractor, as long as you have a category one hitch, you can hook up this sweeper. And it's meant for far more than leaf collection. It's perfect for sweeping up anything on the ground: leaves, grass clippings, apples, fallen nuts and acorns, trash, or whatever you have. Set the brush low and you can even dethatch your lawn. Or drive it over a paved surface and watch all the debris disappear. We know this isn't cheap, but it sure makes for easy work. I do not know if I would buy it to do leaves, But for pine cones and walnuts it would be a great option. Also for spring dethatching it would be great. Only drawback I see is its size. Small spaces would be a challenge. Thanks for showing us all the latest, and your great explanations...

    I like that better than a front pto sweeper b/c of the collection. Like a mini-sweeper truck. Seems like even a subcompact wouldn't have any problem w/the 60".

    Looks like a great piece of equipment. Not sure why, but always prefer mulching my leaves. Removes all the leaves and no piles to deal with and seems to leave the lawn or area much cleaner than sweeping or vacuuming. Everyone has their own favorite way of taking care of leaves.

    I am the disabled guy who yells “got off my lawn” and since I am only able to ride about a half hour I am on my garden tractor almost daily
    I don’t actually tell the kids to get off my lawn because the golfers thinking it’s okay to make ruts make me appreciate the kids who don’t damage anything

  • @kylerayk

    Possibly a stupid question, but will it pick up leaves when backing up? Some yards have peninsulas of turf that project into the woods that aren't conducive to driving forward and making a turn to get back out.

    Hello,
    It does a good job collecting leaves. Pressure on the ground can easily be seen.
    Why are there so many leaves on top of the machine? Is that overflow or something?
    That might be something R&D wants to resolve.
    Cheers from Belgium.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  3 года назад

      Leaves are one of a dozen or more uses. As stated early in the video, this is the first use and adjustments may have been needed. The manufacturer states it will collect leaves even if the brush is 2" above the surface. Most materials will not fly away like leaves. Think about apples, walnuts, pine cones, core aeration plugs, thatch, etc. This is a highly versatile piece of equipment.

    Would it have made more sense to mulch/chop the leaves with the mower first; then rake them up? Great machine1 Best wishes

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  3 года назад

      Possibly, but only if you could do it at the same time as collecting. Otherwise, it would have been a waste of time for me. Got the entire yard done in 1.5 hours and this was the only leaf cleanup for the entire fall. It would definitely save some space in the hopper as well requiring less dumps, however it would also mean you need to have a more aggressive sweep as the chopped leaves would fall deeper into the turf.
      If I were to do it again, I would not mulch. Simply collect. This was a worst case scenario of taking all leaves. This system was not designed specifically for leaf clean up, but a wide variety of materials, most of which will pack much better inside the hopper than leaves.

  • @runnikee6986

    Does this fold into a smaller profile for storage? That, along with the higher price, would be the big downfalls vs. a TKV20 or the JD system. Granted, I think this could pick up more types of debris without risk of damage to the unit.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  3 года назад

      Leaves are only one of a plethora of items this thing collects. It's just the first of many tests. A typical material collection system is good for leaves, grass clippings, and that's about it. This thing dethatches, collects core plugs, leaves, sticks, apples, pine cones, walnuts, acorns, poop, and more.

    • @runnikee6986
      @runnikee6986 3 года назад +1

      @@GoodWorksTractors That’s a big plus. Does it maintain that large profile at all times or does it fold/reduce easily for storage?

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  3 года назад +1

      We had that lot cleaned up in 1.5 hours. As mentioned in the video, first time using the piece of equipment. I had no idea how it would perform until using it. Driving back to my shop, installing the mower deck, driving back over, mowing the entire lot, then going back over to collect leaves would have taken 3x as long. Plus, if you don't wait the entire fall to do your leaves at one time, then it would go incredibly faster. Given it only took 1.5 hours to tackle a .6 acre lot, it wasn't a big deal.
