  • Cincinnati police Capt. Amanda Caton and her husband Patrick, also a Cincinnati officer, were visibly and audibly drunk when Loveland police pulled them over Sunday night. Amanda was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driven home, where her husband became confrontational with Loveland police.

He walked home, but no one determined he was drunk. He wasn’t investigated for being anything. He was warned for disorderly conduct, and that is when he started his walk. He appeared drunk, but to some he appeared to be wearing a dress..... easily argued and would be easily defended in court had he been charged with anything.

    • @tyleradams5642

However he could be reprimanded by his department if it were his police issued firearm, and witnesses came forward bad said he was wearing in a bar while drinking. The cop said she said he was too intoxicated to drive, but I never heard her say that, and I believe the arresting officer assumed she was the lesser of the two intoxicated and that’s what he wasn’t driving ... and he probably was right on his assumption but we will never know.

Under Section 2923.16 of the Ohio Revised Code, you can also be charged with the separate offense of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle if you knowingly transport or have a loaded gun in the car at the time you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or if your BAC is over Ohio’s legal limit of 0.08. This offense can qualify as a fourth or fifth-degree felony, the penalties for which can range from six months-18 months in prison and up to a $5,000 fine depending upon which subsection of 2923.16 you are charged under.

Perhaps that Cop/Husband could explain where the 'Real Cops' were. From what I could see all 4 of those Cops BROKE THE LAW and should have their Law Enforcement Bonds Revoked. Female Cop: Drunk Driving, and Firearm while Drinking...her Husband/Cop: Firearm while Drinking, Public Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct....2 Cops who did the Arrest: Didn't file charges for both of the other Cops having their Firearms on them while Drunk, didn't arrest the Husband for Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
Gee is it any wonder why Cops are losing the Trust of the Public, when they hold themselves and their Fellow Cops above the Law that would have gotten anyone else thrown in Jail without being given 'Special Treatment' and a ride home???

So then the question is, did that Police Department have her solely on 'Desk Duty' for that entire year or did the Cincinnati Police also NOT follow that Law for this 'Cop'???

After looking it up it is only a misdemeanor in Ohio to be intoxicated and in possession of a gun. While I fully admit she was in the wrong and should be punished for her actions. She at least handled the situation with some dignity, and did not attempt to make a scene. Her husband's actions that entire night are on video. And are an excellent example of the type of people who should never even be allowed to become police officers. And if he isn't terminated for his actions that night. It definitely shows that there's something very wrong with the Cincinnati Police Department. Because he is definitely not the type of person who should be allowed to run around with a firearm and the right to use it with almost impunity. His temperament shows everything one should look for in a bad officer. But with police unions and the process of arbitration most likely and unfortunately for the residents of Cincinnati he will most likely be able to keep his job.
