By default all weapons have a Power of 16, which is the equivalent of 1x normal Damage. Only the Ultimate Weapons can modify the Power output. Ultimate Weapons use Before Damage Effects, which allows them to adjust its Power before damage is calculated.
‣ Ultima Weapon / HP Shout. Base Power value of 1, and increases by 1 every 2.08% of HP they have; 33% HP = 17 Power, 66% HP = 33 Power, and 100% HP = 49 Power.
‣ Missing Score. Base Power value of 1, and increases by 1 every 10,000 AP equiped on his weapon, up to a maximum of 401 Power (4,000,000 AP). For a Power value of 16, Barret would need 160,000 AP.
‣ Premium Heart. Base Power value of 1, and increases according to her Limit Lv and how full her Limit bar is; 33% Lv 4 Limit bar = 22 Power, 66% Lv 4 Limit bar = 43 Power, and 100% Lv 4 Limit bar = 64 Power.
Note: Full bar constitutes 255 units, a half filled bar is 127 units, and an empty bar is 0 units.
‣ Limited Moon / Venus Gospel. Base Power value of 1, and increases by 1 every 2.08% of MP they have; 33% MP = 17 Power, 66% MP = 33 Power, and 100% MP = 49 Power.
‣ Conformer. Power = Average Level of all Enemies Targetted. The minimum Power value would be 2 and the maximum 99 (against Emerald Weapon).
Note: Because the Power of the Ability you use is completely overwritten by Conformer's Effect, Morph will not reduce damage dealt at all. If used against only allies, Power will be 0, since only enemies are checked in the equation. In this instance, an attack with the Conformer will be a standard physical hit, but no damage will be caused or displayed.
‣ Death Penalty. Base Power value of 10, and increases by 1 with every 128 kills he gets, up to a maximum of 521 Power (65,408 kills). For a Power value of 16, Vincent would need 786 kills.
There are 4 weapons that use After Damage Effects: Princess Guard, Yoshiyuki, Powersoul & Master Fist. After Damage Effects take place immediately after the standard damage formulas, it ends up adjusting the final damage total, usually by multiplying it by some amount depending on certain factors.
‣ Princess Guard. Power value of 16. Damage = Damage * (1 + Number of Allies in Death Status)
‣ Yoshiyuki. Power value of 16. Damage = Damage * (1 + Number of Allies in Death Status)
‣ Powersoul. Power value of 16. If Tifa is in Near-death Status: Damage = Damage * 2
If Tifa has Death-sentence Status: Damage = Damage * 4
Both multipliers can stack together.
‣ Master Fist. Power value of 16. Damage is modified depending on what Status Attributes Tifa is currently affected by. The formula is:
Damage = Damage * (1 + 1 each for Near-death, Poison, Sadness, Silence, Slow and Darkness Statuses, + 2 each for Death-sentence and Slow-numb Statuses).
Note: As soon as Death Sentence countdown dissapears, the damage multiplier this status effect gives to Powersoul & Master Fist will be over. Death Sentence countdow can be reset if the character is using Cursed Ring and is killed before it reaches 0.
