I spent 3 weeks in Italy and the people of Naples were the friendliest. Helping me find sun block, starting a random conversation on the bus. Great people, great city!
They are not as used to tourists as the rest of Italy is. Imagine being from Venice (the island part of the city)!!! You see 100 000 of tourist a week!!! Parisians get a bed reputation for their behavior, but I don’t blame them. Obviously only because I came from Rome, doesn’t mean I am mean to tourists. It depends on you character (If you have a super character, your always going to seem friendly) and on how you interact with tourists. If you work in the center of the city and need to move around a lot, tourists will be a pain in the ass, but If you work in a office (as most people do) or are a student (as I) toruists really aren’t a problem

The Capodimonte museum is a great one, not of Louvre or Prado rank, but well worth a visit. The Archeological Museum is a good choice. Teatro San Carlo adjacent to the Royal Palace is a great place to take in an opera. I would love to return to Naples and spend more time around there: Pizza, volcanoes, fresh fish, fabulous ruins, and so much more. As the saying goes "See Naples and die."

I am trying to decide whether to spend two nights at Paestum or one there and another at Naples. You show the real city minus the negative attitudes, and I like that so much. Thanks!
I go here about every 2 years or so. I’ve been to about thirty or so different countries. This is my favorite city to visit along with the surrounding area. I actually just booked a trip for October for two people for ten days for a bout 1500 dollars. So it’s not very expensive to go. It’s actually cheaper for me to go to Naples then it is Florida from ny. 16hr trip though lol. I’m really happy you two enjoyed Naples a lot of uptight people don’t and I hope it stays that way.
Thanks! That is really cool to hear. You have a great trip awaiting you in the fall. Yeah, it is a city that is kind of polarizing. I think one of the reasons we loved it, aside from the great pizza, is just that it feels bustling in a local way. Wandering around the streets you get a slice of normal life and don't feel that much like a tourist.
Dan Smith can you give me some pointers or the low down how to book so inexpensively? I'd like to take my son there some day. The flight alone when I looked it up from Chicago to Rome is about $1,500.. not including the stay etc.. where do you stay when in Naples?
Lisa 222 hi Lisa sure I can. First of all I fly directly to Naples. I’ve stayed in Naples and sorrento. I recommend staying in sorrento it’s less chaotic for someone who doesn’t know the city. It’s about an hr ride on a train from Naples or from the airport by bus it’s about 10 euro for the bus. Also try booking for late April may or octoberish. It is a lot more exspensive to go in the summer. And honestly I don’t get it it’s way too hot at that time.
Dan Smith - I'm really sorry to bother you again! Can you tell me what site you were on? I went on google flights and expedia and still bringing up 1,500 per person. Thank you!! :D

Yes, because the first written account of Cinderella was from Gianbattista Basile in "Lu cunto de li cunti" (the tale of tales). Basile was a member of the court, so, when he wrote about Cinderella and the lost shoe on the stairway, he was probably thinking at those stairs.

Omg okay, I’m just really excited hehe sorry guys! Love your videos, keep up the good work! My favorite travel vloggers, You guys are awesome!!!
Thank you for visiting our beautiful city!, Please, come to Napoli! I live in a neighbor town and I study there and, honestly, it's a city worth visiting. There are many many places to see: the histarcal city centre shown in the video so unique and pictoresque (don't miss the Veiled Christ and the Caravaggio's Seven Acts of Mercy). But also explore the other areas of the city: the Posillipo Hill, the Vomero area with Castel Sant'Elmo and its stunning view of the city (the most beautiful one, in my opinion); visit the Capodimonte museum and park with another Caravaggii and many other paintings. Honestly, Napoli is a multicultural city; there is a variety in its different areas that you wonder if you even are in the same place. I've traveled a lot and I love love love Italy as a whole: it think every region is worth vising (I'm planning a trip in Trieste and I can't wait). But give a chance to Napoli. Yes it can be tricky, yes the transport are not the best thi g in the world, yes there are crimes. But this is the situation in many other big city. In 23 years of my life nothing happened to me; last month I was in Rome and someone tried to open my bad in the underground. Shit happens everywhere you go. Don't let this stop you from seeing many many beautiful things. ❤️
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos I'm so glad you did! But everyone can see that from your beautiful video! Sorry for all the mistakes in the previous comment!!
Great video guys, I enjoyed it! Unfortunately you missed probably one the best sculptures ever made in history, and really one the most beautiful things in Naples (if not the most): the "Cristo velato" (veiled Christ). It's so amazing you can't believe your eyes.
I'm from Naples, I'm very glad that you enjoyed it, "Da Michele" where you have been is the best classic pizza, but i suggest to try also "Pizzeria da Pellone" famous for the fried pizza Or if you would like to choice between 55 different type of pizza i suggest "Pizzeria Gaetano Genovesi". Also there is a lot more to visit, one thing i suggest to visit too is the awesome panorama view from the "13 scese": check it on google images typing "13 scese napoli"
I like the highlights of the places you visited. I am wondering if Naples has an evacuation plan in place to evacuate people in case Vesuvio erupts again (similar to 76ad). That's a lot of people move or evacuate in a short period of time.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos I’d take the offer in a heartbeat lol 😝 I was actually in Naples on a pilgrimage to the church ⛪️ of St Januarius back in 2000. It was just a quick visit to Naples from Rome where we were staying. It’s still a good trip though. Feels like hundred years ago now. 😆
thanks for the nice words spent on our city, but now is the time to respond to some idiots Italians who still continue to speak badly of Naples. Naples is defined as uncivilized by those who decide that the Neapolitan problems are exclusive to this city, often based on prejudices accrued watching TV, as happens with the Gomorra series, which is your declared cultural baggage to express prejudices. First of all, Naples IS NOT DIRTY, but perhaps you have in mind the heaps of rubbish of years ago, whose motivations are multiple, and that you can now touch with hand in Rome. In secundis, organized crime is well rooted in northern Italy, but it does not mention it at all and unless you speak of Milanese who "accept" this state of affairs. In short, the explicit convictions that led you to ask the question about Quora are a bit like when the antivaccinists make themselves a "culture" on the web and then sage on every possible medium. That said, do you take back your friends and acquaintances when they throw cigarette butts to the ground? Do you clean the gardens as a volunteer? Do you clean the monuments with the sprayed lettering of a few balls? Create associations to get young people who would inevitably work for the Camorra out of the street, given that in some areas there is no work? IN NAPLES HAPPENS EVERYDAY. About the people who dirty: obviously we talk about problems that afflict ANY metropolis. Also, as happens with thieves, who are few compared to the total population, but of which we are all hostages (in fact we all have locks and locks), so it happens for the "dirty" that when they are not seen leave signs that are clearly evident . A tree that falls of a growing forest makes more noise. In any case, if you want to venture into a useless competition to those who are more uncivilized, then you must consider that we are more than a million, and add those who work there every day while not being resident. ah, I almost forgot, those two children ride an electric bicycle, in fact you can see the pedals. you can drive from the age of 8, only the parents' signature is required. Sorry for my bad english💗💗
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and informative comment. I think the perception of Naples does not meet the reality and it is a shame because it is one of the more lively and exciting cities you can visiting in Europe. Unlike other places where it is kind of boring and without character Naples has plenty to keep visitors excited for their entire stay.
Grazie mille.

Thanks again for a nice video. I enjoyed the New York one as well. Planning to go to Puglia and Naples this year (2021) if all goes well. Too bad you didn't visit Pompeii. Greetings from Amsterdam!
Thank you! I hope you'll be able to enjoy your trip as planned. We did visit Pompeii! There should be a video of the ruins on the channel and another of Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius. Enjoy!
@@samuelandaudrey I will check it out! Stay safe!
Italy, such a special place! Going to Turin in November, but Naples is on my list as well.
That is really cool to hear!
There's nothing to see un turin. Just fog and cold people. Come straight to Naples

Pizza, yass! Da Michele has a branch in Baker Street, London. Amazing.
So cool to hear!
Thanks for all of the great tips and suggestions. We loved visiting Napoli.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos I'm so glad you did! But everyone can see that from your beautiful video! Sorry for all the mistakes in the previous comment!!

Love u guys video! I love to travel as well and I hope someday I got to do what u guys doing must be fun.
Thank you! We feel very fortuate to be able to do this :)

Awesome video! How did you like Naples? We spent a month in Viareggio (Tuscany) doing a housesit for two dogs!
We loved it! We only visited on two day trips from Pompei but left wishing we stayed a bit longer.
Great video guys, I enjoyed it! Unfortunately you missed probably one the best sculptures ever made in history, and really one the most beautiful things in Naples (if not the most): the "Cristo velato" (veiled Christ). It's so amazing you can't believe your eyes.
Thanks for sharing that. I hope other visitors will check it out and if we're back again we'll make a point of visiting it.
@@samuelandaudreyIl Cristo velato😱😱😱😱😱
I'm from Naples, I'm very glad that you enjoyed it,
"Da Michele" where you have been is the best classic pizza,
but i suggest to try also "Pizzeria da Pellone" famous for the fried pizza
Or if you would like to choice between 55 different type of pizza i suggest "Pizzeria Gaetano Genovesi".
Also there is a lot more to visit, one thing i suggest to visit too is the awesome panorama view from the "13 scese": check it on google images typing "13 scese napoli"
Thank you very much for sharing those great suggestions!
Nice!
Thanks!

I like the subjective element of this couple's reporting :)
I like the highlights of the places you visited.
I am wondering if Naples has an evacuation plan in place to evacuate people in case Vesuvio erupts again (similar to 76ad). That's a lot of people move or evacuate in a short period of time.
Thank you! THat is a good question. I suppose there might be more warning signs now with modern science.
My mouth is watering just watching you eat guys! 😆😂 Great vid as usual 👍🏼🎥🍕🍻
Thanks! Wish we could have shared. We could have used some help on this one...hahaha ;)
Heading in march 2021
Exciting to hear Vashon
thanks for the nice words spent on our city, but now is the time to respond to some idiots Italians who still continue to speak badly of Naples.
About the people who dirty:
obviously we talk about problems that afflict ANY metropolis.
