Ever since "Glory in Death" started gathering comments a lot of people recommended me to write a song about the universe of Warhammer 40k. Personaly, I am a huge fan, so of course I was going to make a song about Warhammer 40k.
But I couldn't chose which chapter/race should I sing about. I feel a deep intelligent and emotional connection to the glorious faction of Orks, because daka-daka, choppa-choppa. And Spacemarines. And Grey Knights. But one of the comments suggested me making a song about... Krieg Korps. Hell yeah. These people are metal af, are afraid of nothing and always put their lives on the line.
So I decided that my first "serious" song about Warhammer 40k is going to be about Krieg (Boltgun doesn't count, it just was a very good boomer-shooter). I tried to encapture this... Fearlessness that Krieg people have, the desire to die for the right cause. I hope I did them justice :D

People try to bring horror of Krieg with metal and rock but really all we need is a good song and marching rhythm, fascinating song.

Frankly I feel this is an even better portrayal because what makes the Death Korps on par with the greater horrors of warhammer is the emotionless merciless nature of their war machine thus having the rhythmic and monotonous marching cadence suits them better

anyone hearing "in the emperors name" should know their not fighting ordinary soldiers. their fighting people who WANT to die fighting.

@@clydehoggan6643 Not only do they WANT to die fighting, they are raised from birth thinking they NEED to die in battle. It's no wonder they can be more effective than Space Marines, they are literally bred to die horrible deaths in the name of their god.

The thing I find most intimidating/terrifying in the WH40K aren't the asteres, the necrons, the tyrinds, or chaos. It's the group of humans so zealous and fanatical that they they embrace death as the only penance for their sins. That they would charge a swarm of tyrinds with nothing but a shovel, hoping that they might be redeemed.
Facts.
Honestly, that is how I approach humans in my fantasy setting. They are the weakest race, but became dominant through sheer numbers, burying the other races under their corpses during the ancient wars until they were forced to flee and hide. Thus elves and dwarves and all the others literally hide in hidden cities even thousands of years later. Not because they are aloof and secluded like they are in traditional fantasy, but out of fear of the humans that would surely swarm them like ants the moment they showed their faces.
A mere group of humans with nothing left to loose, chanting death songs and willing to die for a cause is terrifying, especially when they start screaming in German. @@S.k.y.n.e.t.

As someone who started getting into 40k last year with krieg being one of the first things I wanted to learn about I was so excited to hear a song about them.
Arch has great lore videos if you want entertaining large amounts of lore
I started 40k this year and I already have more kriegsman figures than actual friends

If Stringstorm's song was melancholy and more about the tragedy of Krieg and perhaps a more humane side of them, and Grimwind's was more about their warlike side and the spirit of each soldier, then you.... you described the ENTIRE DEATH KORPS.
Not through metal or a melancholy orchestra, but as the title says, through an anthem. The song described Krieg as a monolith, listening to this, the picture of armies marching towards the enemy, which has no end, pops up in my head.

The scariest thing about the Death Korps is that they actually WANT to die. How do demoralize such a force? You don't, anything you do will make them more excited for the next fight
To my understanding they’re actually not suicidal.

I've been a long term fan of the Death Korps, I know most if (idk if I know everything WH is too vast) all of their lore. But when I heard this I imagined Krieg descending and fighting on a planet while this song blared from their voices as they marched on through time cuts of their campaign. So perfect, you sir have gotten yourself a subscriber! I'll check out your other content and watch out for your next song!

I like the image of that. I'd like to add too it to, as the campaign goes on there are less Kreigers in the company shown, at first hardly noticeable but by the end there are merely a handful, until the background stops moving completely standing still on a verdant green
I like the image of that. I'd like to add too it too and maybe change it a bit. I like the idea of the background scrolling past at a soft angle, kind of simulating the curvature of a planet but micro. And as the war goes on it fades from one stage of the war to another, like you said, but the Kriegsmen keep marching regardless. And as the campaign goes on there are less Kreigers in the company shown, at first hardly noticeable but by the end there are merely a handful of dirty bandaged and disfigured figures left. Then the background stops its spinning on a golden field of knee high wheat with no signs of battle nor the warriors who fought to liberate the planet. From the opposite direction that the Krieg had been marching appears an old hunched over man walking with a cane and his young energetic grandaughter enjoying the spring sunshine. The music by now has stopped and we see the old man slowly shuffle from one end of our POV to the next in his somewhat familiar synthleather boots and permanently fixed smile on his scarred face while his grandaughter flits about him, dancing in the light and joy of a life of childish innocence and freedom.

Also, the choir is one of my favorite things in music along with the piano and organ (thanks Ost Mechanicus), I love it! If ever there is a film/series, or even an episode about the Kriegers, I want it to play as the main theme.

They forgot the meaning of there planets name, Krieg means war in German and very close to the Swedish word krig which also means war
