Thanks so much for a lovely and informative reaction. Dimash is truly UNIQUE! A musical GENIUS in my opinion. In 66 years, I haven't heard any voice like his, nor someone that can transport you to his world, where you can get lost in his music. His emotion is so real, you FEEL it with him - even though we can't understand a word he's saying. To me SINFUL PASSION is a musical MASTERPIECE! One of his finest songs. He makes the arrangements to every song he sings, to suit his voice. But, he also IMPROVISES according to his AUDIENCE and his MOOD. Pure genius. Thanks for recognising his enormous talent. Bless you 👌👏👏👏❤

    Dimash is a Soul Experience

  • @maryE05
    @maryE05 4 года назад +134

Dimash started his musical training at the age of five in Kazakhstan, and continues to this day. He says as long as he sings, he will learn. He was classically trained, and was invited to join the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan, but turned it down. He didn't want to be "stuck" singing one genre of music. He is currently studying for his master degree in musical composition in Kazakhstan, and is to finish this year. He says he will continue on to receive his doctorate. He has never "studied" music in China, although he says every experience is a learning experience. He gives credit to all his teachers in Kazakhstan, but holds Marat Aitimov in high regard, thanking him many times in interviews, etc. In an interview his dad, Kanat said, "In creativity, Dimash is very meticulous. He sings a song for a long time, passes it through his soul, rethinks it in order to feel emotion, and only when he is convinced that the song is ripened, he can sing it through is own vision." I believe it.

The words you said about opening a new way of possibilities for the composers because now they have such an incredible instrument as Dimash is a wonderful idea. And I loved the analogy between Dimash and Farinelli. I totally agree with you. When you have such a voice, the only problem is to find the proper songs in order to fulfil your vocal abilities and adding new layers to your performances. Now that Dimash is studying composition is significant since he could gain his independence from other composers and make his own music. I love Krutoy's music but Dimash has to be free when he needs just like the birds over Milan roofs. Thanks a lot for your sincere and lovely reaction. Your were not alone when you shed those tears 🧡🎶👌

Thank you for a great reaction. Finally someone can breakdown the technique Dimash uses, and someone you can actually demonstrate it! I'm mpressed on how you did the cry as well as the the ancient musical technique and was able to tie them to a operatic technique. They are not new but how Dimash composed, arranged and sequence them is brilliant. You are one of the very few reaction professionals who have the background and experience I have heard and seen.
I was fortunate to see him in his New York Concert, standing very close to the stage. He is very humble, true, and down to earth person. Not tained by the glitter and glamour of the big music industry. I am not a musician, I can't sing, I can't play any musical instrument, I don't know who Farinelli was. I don't have to to appreciate the Dimash's talent. He is one of a kind in our lifetime. I agree with what you said... he only need 1 word, 1 phrase to draw your attention and forget anything else except his voice. He can make you laugh (opera II), bring tears to your eyes (autumn strong/Daybrake), mesmerize you (Diva Dance, Ogni Pietra, SOS).
I cant wait to see more of your reactions to Dimash specially at the period when we was a contestant. In a contest, I am sure that there are no electronically enhancement that goes on. I also can't wait for the new composers to create music because they now have the means (Dimash) to deliver it. Again thank you for your reaction... looking forward for more to come.

He is a mixture of Farinelli, Bocelli, Yma Sumac, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, etc, I dont know how he can put all these influences in his voice. Excellent reaction! The below statement is from another viewer that commented on Dimash ... it will give you context of the song and it's history and the last part of it which Dimash added out of respect for the dead singer.
The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that
accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental Arab technique (or traditional Kazakh singing, called Joqtaw), is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist: Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

So Good to hear someone who loves and understand not only music, but the art of this young singer... that is a real master of his voice... not only the mechanical instrument, but the use of it to produce trully art pieces.

Thank You Julia for your unique insight into why the voice of Dimash touches something so deep in us. In American culture we talk about those special ones that come along and “raise the bar”, setting a new standard of excellence. You highlight the reality that the ability by Dimash has also awaken creative possibilities for composers. Many of you reviewing Dimash speak to the entirety of his presentations- emotion, dramatics, presence, stage effects. In short, Dimash is a storyteller, taking us on a journey. And in part, Dimash is living out his own personal journey telling us all, we have more to explore and experience.

Fantastically insightful reaction video. I've never heard any other reviewer break down the elements of Dimash with such elevated perspective, beautiful imagery and historical reference. You have such a soothing tone to your speaking voice, and then you sing and it's glorious! I'll be watching for more of your content, amazingly well done, bravo!

A wonderful analysis. I couldn't agree more with when you say that composers will be falling over themselves to create music for Dimash. Finally a voice has arrived that can take a song to another level, not only as a voice but as an instrument. There's no wonder Igor Krutoy has taken him under his wing. He is a composers dream come true...keep up the good work Julija, bravo 👏👏 xx

Thank you for finding exceptional beauty in this "too much sensitive" time. Dimash is an extraordinary talent and your discussion about him was amazing -- you opened my eyes to things I felt but could not express. I have been listening to him for two years and so much rushes into my heart when he sings....you have made it possible for me to better understand why I feel as I do. Grazie and Спасибо большое!
Here in Kansas USA we are praying for Italy. Our hearts are joined with you!

You are the only person that I've heard compares him with Farinelli. When I first heard Dimash I though to myself, this is what Farinelli must have made people "feel" back in his time, and he trascended through ages. I'm so grateful that I got to live in the Dimash era! Behold greatness!!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 Loved your discussion! Thank you! Indeed, Dimash has opened up an entirely newer and wider field of performance to singers the world over. It’s almost like we only knew how to run and race each other and now we found we can also jump and vault and do gymnastics and acrobatics all in one show. What you said about composers is so true too! Igor Krutoy indeed has a second lease on life and writes songs now like he never has because there is nue someone who can sing them! I see, especially among the younger generation, singers trying to learn from him. It’s not just a new genre, it’s an entire new musical movement!

Dimash's foundation in training in classical music with Marat Aitimov. He was already singing pop and cross-over as a teenager too. University training he studied contemporary and jazz. A lot of the folk melismas he taught himself. Dimash confirmed in an interview that he is a TENOR.

You have a long road of Dimash ahead of you. I do believe that Dimash will unite the music of East and West totally changing the entire spectrum of all music in ways unimagined. Personally, I believe he's historically the greatest singer that ever lived. Whenever you may get to these 3 songs, it would be best to go to Gloria Wu's channel for their background stories; "Daybreak", "Autumn Strong" and "Daididau". And Lada has the last word.

Love your reaction and insightful analysis of Dimash's Sinful Passion! Your commentaries are very well articulated.
Dimash did an overhaul of the original 90's version of the song; incorporating different elements and styles as well as the "gutteral" vocalisation (it is a kazakh traditional weeping) as a tribute to the lead vocalist who sung the original song.
I am looking forward to more reactions from you on DImash. I have added you to my subscribed list : )
    Have a good day!
