    Just picked up an airbrush/compressor to up the game on my models. I'm super excited to give this metallic root beer color a go. Once I get acclimated with the createx line I will try some motor cycle tanks & fenders.
    Thank you for all info..!

    Like the changes in effect with the spraying a combination of colors over a different color. They all look cool.

    It's surprising the difference the base colour makes. I've got an S10 weighting to go to the booth. This candy root beer is a real head turner.

    Is it possible to do an antifreeze type color? I have used the poison green on a silver ground coat. Though it's close I can't quite get the deep fluorescent green color. I did try 5 to 1 with the marine blue. However it's still not correct. Please advise.

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад

      There’s many different colors of antifreeze (green, blue and red). Try mixing candy2o Poison Green with Caribe Blue or Emerald Green in various ratios. The metallic ground coat will also affect the color, although 6013 Silver Sealer should work well. Make multiple test panels with various mix ratios, probably with Poison Green as the base color, tinted with Emerald Green for the green shade antifreeze you seek. Thank you.

      Mix candy2o 4662 Dirt Track Brown with 4652 Tequila Yellow. Craig Fraser made a video on with some suggested mix ratios a few years ago. Thank you. ruclips.net/video/vxzu2PaghYY/видео.html

    Wondering about how much material it would take to cover my motorcycle tank with the rootbeer candy?

      ~ 32oz. sprayable of 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear 6:1 candy2o color. Thank you.

    I wish Createx would do a demo on how to use the Candy 2.0 paints on RC bodies. Starting from the ratios of mixing the 4030 or 4050 down to painting the body itself.

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  2 года назад +1

      Reverse painting a candy2o color will not produce as deep a finish as is created by top-coating the candy2o with a gloss clear, so our videos showing how to paint with candy2o can readily be translated to painting a polycarbonate RC body, ruclips.net/video/MIMlX78BdX4/видео.html. Try a few test pieces comparing reverse painting candy2o direct to the polycarbonate versus painting the exterior and top-coating with a gloss clear. As recommended in all our candy2o videos, use 4050 UVLS Clear as the carrier-medium. Standard mix ratios of 1:1 for airbrush and 4050 Gloss Clear 8:1 candy2o for spray-gun apply for RC painting. The greater amount of 4050 in the candy2o mix, the easier it will be to apply candy2o evenly without unwanted color build-up. Thank you.

    Did you mix the cosmic sparkle gold with the wicked metallic gold as the base? And then spray the dirt track brown over?

      Cosmic Sparkle Gold was mixed with candy2o Dirt Track Brown (and 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear) and applied over a base of Metallic Gold. Thank you.

      @@CreatexColors is the ratio 1:1:1 cosmic sparkle to candy to 4050? Also when using a metallic as the ground coat do you put it over an autoborne sealer or put it directly on the substrate?

    Which urethane clear did you put on these?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  4 года назад +1

      While any 2k urethane clear is compatible with Createx paints, we use PPG's EC550, with the medium temp reducer ECR75 and the ECH5075 standard hardener. EC550 is especially made for top-coating water-based. Thank you.

    What brand of clear are you using?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  4 года назад

      PPG ECU 550 is the gloss 2k clear used for projects where the finish matters, otherwise we use a generic 2k solvent-based clear from a local auto supply store. Thanks.
