Kentucky kingdom, kings dominion,
Kings dominion 🫢
Surprised Idlewild and Soakzone ain’t on your list 😮
There were a bunch of contenders
What's changed at Idlewild? I was there a few years ago and thought they looked just fine
I wouldn't even consider Lakemont Park an amusement park anymore but more of a recreational facility. The owner's renovations backfired. I personally think it should be sold and changed back to an actual amusement park.
Totally agree
Darien lake did put quit a bit of investment this off season, including, 900 more feet of Titan Track for Predator, they also replaced 3 sections of track on the Boomerang (and possible a new train too?), and finally they're repairing the Big Kahuna waterslide that had a broken raft conveyor for awhile. Now those are the things they made public, so there may be other improvement this year as well.
Yes they did i look forward to my visit this year
@@ThemeParkMotivation Darien has a ton of potential, but I think EPR Properties (the current owner of the park along with Frontier City) is holding it back for some reason, if Six Flags buys it, it could be one of the better parks in the chain.
@markvolpe2305 totally agree the amount of land they own could make them one of the biggest parks in the country
@@ThemeParkMotivation they do own over 900 acres, but a lot of that land is across Rt. 77.
@@markvolpe2305 I take it this is your home park maybe? 🤔 what do you think of the camping there?
The Six Flags/Cedar Fair merger is a done deal, the announcment will come in mid May. Expect a couple parks to be sold off so the new company can harness in their collective debts. One park for sure is in danger of demolition but that may change.
Thanks for the info. I wasn’t sure if this deal was happening or not been awhile since I heard anything
@@ThemeParkMotivation yeah, the stockholder's voted 3 weeks ago with six flags and they approved unanimously, cedar fair voted the following week and they approved. Congress looked at their plans and approved last week. It's all been very hush-hush, but some employees have leaked it online letting a few people know what to expect. One of the big issues with Cedar Fair stockholders was the name change to Six Flags, but looks like you in 2025, all the parks will bear the name. The other pressing issue is the licensing with Peanuts and Loony Toons, and which parks will feature which IP. I suggest the parks with two kid lands use each name and have a more diverse kid experience. Time will tell.
I personally think Leap the Dips is here to stay. In fact, safer from the chopping block than Skyliner. I've heard there's something for Altoona to keep Leap the Dips open for more years, if not, decades to come. The same can't be said for Skyliner, though. Also, I'm sure Fun Spot America Atlanta and Six Flags Darien Lake will continue to operate normally for at least 6 years. If any of the amusement parks in the new Six Flags chain, I believe the one most neglected park from Cedar Fair, Six Flags, or both chains could be in danger.
I think TPM said what you’re saying pretty much it does say troubled parks which I believe he did a fine job discussing each parks major issues or minor issues.
Leap the Dips is a national historic landmark, it can't be demolished, plus the park can get financial assistance maintaining it. Skyliner can easily be sold and relocated to another park.
I feel bad for Lost island. You’d think they would do so well, since there isnt much around. I hope they can turn around soon and get a good ROI. Same with Fun Spot, you’d think it would do much better with that RMC. Darien lake is getting some love this year with Predator getting more Titan Track.
I’m looking forward to visiting both this year I can’t wait for predator
Lost island built nothing significant for people to put the effort in to go. They should have started smaller with less rides but the rides being special.
@WelshGuitarDude I kinda feel like they did start small 100 million sound like a lot but in the grand scheme of things some coasters cost 20-30million so they got 3 small ones if they did a single rail i think it would really help especially if it was unique compared to the others
@@ThemeParkMotivation Yeah but they didn't build small that park is too spread out. They should've taken a page out of Phantasialand, very small park but packs a punch with far better rides even if it has less rides.
To be fair Phantaisaland is a top theme park in the world with lots of money but I get what you’re saying
They would name no money at all unloading Darien Lake...the land it sits on isn't worth anything.
Another thing to think ab is that park has already been in like every chains hands.
I'm wondering if this uptick in work /investment has anything to do with EPR selling the park to SF/CF.
Titan Track is extremely expensive and they are in a contract with GCI/Skyline to complete the entire layout within a year or 2. If they were going to dump the park they would probably halt that project....and not retrack boomerang....and not refurb the waterslide. Just my opinion tho🤷♂️
Lol make* no money
Yes you’re right valid point
Clementon Park is another one, but you also said this was not an exhaustive list.
Oh most definitely I don’t really know if there’s any hope for that place though
@@ThemeParkMotivation such a shame because it has such a long history as a Trolley park
@@dougronald561 it is i hate seeing parks fail
