The main melody used to be a simple chiptune. Now it's an electric guitar with a bassline so it feels quicker and more grand.

I only started watching Game Theory seriously around the middle of 2018
But most of the theories I tend to watch over and over are the Game Theories from 2015-2018, so this makes me smile.

My favourite is the most recent one. I love how they included multiple games into it, like how the guy from assassin's creed opened the fnaf box and how Star Fox ran into a Majora's Mask Moon thing. Also, the music was the best

This compilation of all of MatPat’s videos is so amazing to watch as you get to see all of them in chronological and consecutive order, and you can just see the small improvements on each one until the last one comes in and blows everything away.

I agree, it has that nice gaming and electronic vibe that perfectly matches the channel. I honestly think the 2016 to present one is a bit all over the place and the audio doesn't feel too 'gaming' to me :/

I also really like the 2015 to 2016. I mean, I like the more rock style sound of the new one and new sounds, like the stereo, the flashing of the buttons, but I like that the old one goes twice over the main theme, while the new one only goes once.

Nah. It's not. it may be on the same note but I swear, since I am also a Vocaloid fan, it is not. A total day and night difference.
I'm also a pianist and I can tell that the Uraomote Lovers (Two-Faced Lovers) has a much faster beat, like around 6/8 than Science Blaster (That's the name of MatPat's theme song.) which is at 2/4. But, throwing those aside, they do sound similar to a regular person who doesn't have any knowledge about music.
(I cannot edit my previous comments so I'll just create another one.) So, actually, Two-faced lovers has a much higher tone. I'd say around G major and Science Blaster is I think is at C major.
