Best description of the Charger lines and all its details, such an incredible car !
I had a '69 Charger for 23 years that I had purchased used for 450 bucks. It was an original 383 "forest green" car with an automatic trans. on the floor with the center console. I dropped a 440 in it and painted it black. They do look good in black.
I'll never forget the day I sold it. I'm standing there with a check in my hand, watched the guy drive off and then I just stared at the empty spot in my driveway. I read somewhere that we never really own these cars but instead are just their caretakers.
love the sound of burning rubber and the rebel from the exhaust pipes thank you for your service
somebody really worked hard on that body......them long panels..no waves and really nice body lines and contours
When a Charger RT like this pulled up next to back in day you knew it was going to give you a run for your money.
Nothing beats 69-70 Charger tail lights.
This should be the muscle car of every f*****g week.
I had the 69 Charger R/T with the 4 speed manual. Mine was orange with the black vinyl top.
Just awesome power. Had it up to 147 mph. :))
I like the fact it's an auto with shift on the column and doesn't have the bucket seats with the floor console. Too many times people upgrade cars like this and they loose what makes them unique. I always preferred the looks of the 69 Charger. And in this form over the Daytona. But I can understand why they developed the 69 Daytona and the 70 Superbird for superior aerodynamics.
This would look incredible with the factory Mag-style wheelcovers.
Had a 68 rt back in the day what a car posi track burnouts till the tires popped drunk and stoned we finally rolled it what a blast
I prefer the Superbee, but LOVE the fuel fill.
I still have mine, bought back 84 for $300
No way! Can you post some videos?
Do you mean '74 for $300 ?
I love this car!
Those old school look tires with the hubcaps give it a dark,demon-like look. I think they look way better then the big oversized modern ones with the bling bling spinners etc....
HOTTEST ONE I Ever Saw for Sale Was A 68 HEMI In Midnite Blue,About 15 -20 Years Ago,Owner Wanted $80,000 for It.Probably Worth More Than DOUBLE THAT NOW !!
Beautiful car. I could never live with those rims and tires.
Beautiful car, I had a 1969 Charger as my first car but it was a 383, yellow with vinyl roof.
One of my favorite colors on a car it looks mean looking
BADASS CHARGER 👌💪💪
Oh boy, another automatic. That's what we all want to see. And a column shift. How cool. My Great Aunt Gladys loves it.
How about a three on the tree manual?
Beautiful car Kevin the only thing is I've always kind of dislike the column shift on automatic side rather have it a console to me just looks better in a car
Nice.
Super cool car! Love the colum shift, so old school.
👍
Now I want to watch bullit
...there ya go! ;-) good one: Bill Hickman in the Charger, Steve McQueen in the Stang, perhaps the greatest classic car chase!
The only difference was the Charger was a 383 4 speed car. The epic Ford verses Dodge battle. The best thriller car chase up to that time. Good stuff Maynard.
I read that the Hemi option for the Cuda in 1970-71 had added about 30% to the base price on top of poor mileage number and then the high insurance .
The rare Hemi Cuda convertible in 71 ( just 7 ) came about by the higher end price when the 440 six pack ( 17 made) option was 50% of the hemi and still put out lots of torque and a decent level of HP for the street .
Gary Wood: There's A Collector in CHICAGO W/ A Big Asst.of Cudas & Challengers ,W/ HEMIS & 440's .Several Are Worth Between 1-3.5 Million A Piece.
Absolutely Gorgeous looking car's My Favourite along with the Bullitt 68" DODGE Charger " 440"
Beautiful Keven, the 4 speeds must have been really special!
"Its big, Its wide, Its long, And its very opposing"
LMAO
I was standing in the middle of town holding a sign and handing out pamphlets for Molarrworld ....one day and this sweet little old lady come up and sold me her Hemi GTX Belvedere for the cash I had in my pocket! I still can't believe that happened!
rc51rider300exc damn that’s probably a reference only I would get
total badass car but you gotta chuckle at this skinny rear tires, trying to hook up with the hemi
well said, Ron !! Absolutely not a fan of such narrow tires on a muscle car, and the fact that i would lose points in a serious car show (with judges and trophies and all) because my tires are 'wider than stock' won't make me change my mind
It's perfect. Sweet car!
The greatest muscle car ever
Beautiful car ! Reminds me of the policemans car in Vanishing point . It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar .
Love these cars. To my knowledge, no slant 6 chargers were made in 69 or 70, only about 100 were made in 68.
Mmmmmm- very, very nice. Always loved Chargers, and looks beautiful in black. Those skinny little wheels and tyres arent really in keeping with the rest of the car- I know thats what it came with but they must struggle trying to put that Hemi power to the floor- could do with some big 5 spokes.....
Want one.but unfortunately i can't afford it.sadly
Very nice says it all!
You're right that car is Bad to the Bone I mean immaculate in fact the only flaw I can see in it is that it's not a 68 hahaha obviously I have a favorite year but still sweet ride to say the least
That is one sexy bad ass machine.
I find the fact hat it had drums almost inconceivable!
Cool cars.. you got a 66 some where to? Love the superbird and daytona!
Best color on chargers
Actually I believe the "base charger" was powered by a 318. The slant six cars you had to order special.
I wonder if these guys pre oil the motors before they run them , Had a moroso accusump on my old Mustang and flip the valve before starting it and the saved up oil pressure would push fresh oil to all the bearings, great idea for any stored car.
💪
she's a beauty
"AUtoMAtiC TrAnSiSsioN"
Nice car want one
Got a question for you Kevin do you ever take out any of these cars and drive them there's got to be a thrill to do it
Kevin, reminds me of a police cruiser
Was the scoop on the doors an option? The 69RT had the scoop on the front of the doors. I always thought they were standard on the RT. Does anyone know?
i love these chargers, the original charger look was the best of all of them, but i gotta say i prefer the 1970 charger over the 1969
When fuel was cheap
geesh.. look at those tires! what are they 7in.?
Imagine a F.A.S.T class version of this car...
Looks like the charger from bullitt
close but the Bullitt one was the 1968 one.
The real McCoy !!!...
3.55 gear at 3:24 assuming it's an 8 3/4 axle.
how do i buy a car like this? just curious
So this is my favorite car and when I told my dad he's like really I used to own one and I'm like your fucking kidding me what did you do with it he said I don't know.. I cried inside
+Mathew Hills ask him to tell you stories about the car! What color / engine/ transmission, etc? When did he have it? What is his favorite memory?
I'd keep it all original even with the rims and tires
I’m feeling a little warm...
hammer the damn thing for the love of God!
Beautiful muscle car totally destroyed by a column shifter. GAG
Why why... Are you guys afraid to say what the car cost new. Wow!!
Never afraid to say what they cost new, but the point of our features isn't really about prices. But we do touch on that when it's contextual.
jesus
Menacing Mopars
The Brothers need to buy some scales, that car is around 4300lbs not 3600 which is the weight of a fairly small 69 Camaro with a BB. The manufactures listed shipping weight although it seems to be a mystery as what that actually means. Fluids spare tire and tools certainly weigh less than 700lbs. This shipping weight was transferred to registrations and frequently quoted as curb weight.
So while the information is accurate based of the manufactures paper work if you drive it to scale you will get a far larger number. Modern cars seems to be far more accurate.
I heard that there was an option for suicide doors on a ’69 charger , also a clip-on hard top was available. Did you ever hear pr see one these options ?
Hmm... never heard that, but interesting!
Such a sexy car, but those skinny ass wheels and tires just look awful. They also are gonna make it really hard to put any power to the ground. Should have put in some mini tubs, 12” wide wheels, 345/30/19’s would have been perfect.
I think this, and I think that... Run, buy elsewhere.
What do you mean by that?
Such nonsense to talk more about the it was 1 of this and 1 of X automatics. Yea, an automatic is rare because only fools would purchase one then... or now. Maybe talk more about the R/T badge instead of just its high performance.
wheels and tires are hideous.
Terry, it's restored to original OEM condition. Not a trendy P.O.S
Nice looking car, but a pig. Barely spins the tires. 60s cars so over rated in acceleration. New Honda Civic smokes em all
no way a 'new Honda Civic' could out-accelerate a 1964 AC Cobra 289, mainly because that car had excellent weight distribution which gave it something other contemporary cars did not have : TRACTION (rear tires hugged the pavement so much that slicks were unnecessary)
Don't be silly.
Such a beautiful car , but such UGLY wheels !....
