Jim Rockford would be proud.
yep great actor
👍👌👏 Definitely! 😁
I was thinking the same exact thing.
Does he have a youtube channel?
@@jeffmac3071 There is quite a bit of different stuff to choose from regarding @TheRockfordFiles including the car that was used that’s here on RUclips.
Two of the most notable actors that were regulars were James Garner who was James Rockford and Noah Beery Jr who played Rockfords father and had a really nice square body 4x4 truck that seen almost as much action as the car. I grew up watching that show back in the day. Speaking of kickin 4x4 Trucks in that time period, We can’t forget “The Fall Guy” with Lee Majors who had a pretty awesome square body truck. Hope that bit of information helps you out.
Mouth held camera , that's a man dedicated to his work !
When in need the mouth is your third hand 😆
Just LOVE the enthusiasm that you and your Dad show. Nothing forced or staged, just genuine enjoyment. Best channel on the internet.
I really enjoy seeing your fathers talents being used on this build. Great exhaust design 😊
Is it really his father, I always wonder because I thought they look similar ages :)
I thought Stacy David was his dad when I first started watching 😂
Anytime a second gen Firebird/Trans Am can be saved is a great thing! Those headers practically installed themselves!! You didn't even need to "massage" them!
That new intake, carb, and exhaust made a world of difference...no more bogging at takeoff and nearly 3 seconds shaved off the 0-60. Nice! Can't wait for more!
Dear Lateef Carrere
👍👌👏 Definitely big improvement! 2) Always nice to meet you on several channels we both watch.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Spoiler alert!
The car is really coming along! Thankful you and your father can spend time together and revive cars most would not!
Nice to see someone build the exhaust, most channels take it to a shop for that. Great work as always.
Love seeing the old firebird wake back up and sound like it should. I always liked the looks of the formula hood instead of the shaker, too. Looking forward to when it’s all finished.
My eyes couldn’t help but be drawn to the 911 in the background, though. Any chance we’ll see an update on it anytime soon?
Next video will be an update on the 911 ☺️
The flat tire caught my attention.
@@mikescudder4621 Sadly it leaks on a daily basis! We’ve fixed the leak now though 🙂
@@BudgetBuildz Good to hear bud! If it's the bead that is leaking, sometimes just taking the tire off, wetting it so you can see where air is coming out and whacking the tire with a rubber mallot can make the bead sit right. But you guys know this no doubt!
Growing up, my dad had a 79 trans am 10th anniversary, 12k miles, absolutely mint in every way. That car was so cool . I love this body style and am glad to see you and your dad fixing this up. It is really cool watching you and your family doing this together and it is family friendly entertainment, no cussing! You also obviously like to teach people about what you are doing. Keep it up!
Love to see these old cars getting back on the road no matter what condition their in, you just can’t get the driving experience like these old firebirds in any newer car made today great job👍
So satisfying hear the V8 roar
Old school gotta love it!!!
I love watching you and your dad work together - you have fun and you're the best of pals! Nothing in this world is nearly as important as that!
All I’ve got to say is Damn dad’s got some welding skills, loved what you two did to the car so far and can’t wait until she’s all finished
Couldn't have put it better. Always been a big fan of Jim (Rockford) Garner. He was a great driver in real life also. Thank you so much for the video. Your mods are awesome. Especially the exhaust system.❤
A fresh of breath air for sure! 😮
Man she sounds great and moves well. Thanks for sharing ❤
B.B. YES !!! BRINGING IT BACK....WHAT A GREAT NEW BUILD ON THIS OLD FIRE TURKEY!!!! IT DOES SOUND GOOOOD!! THE REST OF THE CAR IS SHACKING IT DOESNT KNOW IT SELF.. GREAT BRING IT BACK,,.. THANKS!!!!
This is such a great channel. I wish there were more to watch but I went all the way to the beginning and watched all of them. Thanks for the content Budget Buildz.
Looking forward to your next episode. The journey's been fun!
Really like seeing this car rescued. I am a big 70's era Trans am/ Firebird fan. Can't wait to see the interior done.
You guyz deserve a huge awesome shop. What talent!!!
We all need our dads well done dad.👏👏
Dad did a wonderful job with the exhaust 👍 that car certainly sounds and runs a lot better with your improvements. I'm looking forward to the interior clean up. Keep up the great work and the great videos 👍✌️🇺🇲
Miss my old '77 Firebird Esprit watching this series.
I love the continuous improvement you guys put into every vehicle you touch. Thanks guys for the POSITIVE direction you put into your work!
I love it.
You guys are on the way to a sweet ride ..gotta do one of your dad's classics soon
Really looking forward to watching this in approximately 7 minutes after I've made myself a coffee I'm loving your content keep the videos coming
😊😊 I do hope you enjoy! A warm coffee sounds nice!
@@BudgetBuildz yeah im a coffee lover from the UK its a must have in my home
Beautiful work on building the exhaust. Such a joy watching your welding skills. Your dad and you are such great partners. Relaxing watching your guys. It is good for my mental health! Thank you both!!
A tip on timing. Don’t just check it at idle. You need to check what it goes to at full advance. That’s what’s most important for power.
Use your dial back timing light, to ensure that with vacuum advance disconnected, you see 38-40 degrees at full advance, with that stock low compression 350 with stock heads.
Also, putting lighter advance springs so you have full advance before 3000 rpm will help immensely.
Ideally also add a screw to the advance plate, to create a positive stop for the advance. This way you can reduce the amount of centrifugal advance, and run more timing at idle for best throttle response off the line.
Also set your throttle cable freeplay to a minimum, to ensure you are actually opening the carb fully at full throttle.
Sounds amazing! A mild cam may help with that awesome idle sound 😏
Love the videos. Your knowledge is astonishing. You make it look easier than it is!
Exhaust sounds great
Man been watching since before the 911 and I remember everyone complaining about the video and sound quality. Now it’s top notch. Great job and congrats on the success. You deserve it and more
Damn fine job on the exhaust! Nice seeing another proud bird back on the road!
You and your Dad can work on my car anytime! I LOVE the exhaust note coming out of that Firebird and the look that both of you had on your faces when you improved that 0-60 time, was a joy to behold! Looks like you now have a "Rockford Mobile'!!!!
Thank you for sharing and your APPRECIATION to your subscribers
You need a welding table, your back is gonna love you for it. Never take your back for granted.
Got to love the 2nd gen firebirds.
Nice to see another being saved. 👍
Killer muffler work, guys! Car is running great; now it needs paint and interior. Love that copper color.
Bunch of little kids,,,. all grown up.. lol.. thanks for sharing your fun..
Cheers from Vietnam
I absolutely love that patina and color. 4 speed is going to make her and you as a driver happy as a kid!
Enjoying watching this Firebird series. You are doing the right things to make it a screamer!
you are a true connoisseur of American classic cars! Hello everyone from Ukraine! ✌️🇺🇦🇺🇸👍☮️🌐❕
"fresh of breath air"....I'll allow it. Great episode!
Great sound just a sweet Bird!
Good result on that one. Impressive increases without even caming the engine
Those scenes shot from the road shoulder of the car going by gave me the "Smokey and the Bandit" vibe.
Cool.
I had a 78 Trans Am fresh from the junkyard, all of this brings back memories when I bought a Performer Intake and a Holley 600cfm carb for a swap of the stock intake and Quadrajet. Lots of wheel spin..
Great exhaust job! Love the side dumps.
Love it! It’s great that you bring these classics back !
An Edelbrock carb will always run when a holley won't. Edelbrock all the way baby
worth to be restored, memories from Spain...
That THING SOUNDS AMAZING WITH MY HEADSET ON!!!!
Fire Chicken! I never see these anymore. Few on the road? Used to be everywhere...
That exhaust is sick!!!!
These Pontiac’s are beautiful
Third gens too.
That Chevy and Porsche in the garage are nice looking too. I need to check out your playlist for their rebuilds.
I have to commend you on your choice of music filler while you’re working. It’s very pleasant and not annoying like some channels. I’m very new to this game so I’m taking whatever tips I can from other channels. Love what you do. I’m a NC boy so I’m not very far from you guys. Your channel gets better all of the time.
My first car in high school was this exact car. It was a sunshine yellow 78 Formula with a 350. My dad painted it red and silver about 3 years before I got it. This build brings back so many memories of my dad and I working on it. I've been looking for one to acquire but the prices and garage space are limits for me. Maybe one day! Thanks for sharing this series!
I love dads laugh at 2:48. Lol.. Sort of lets us know how high the expectations of that test was. :D That being said, I love the project and hope this will get the same amount of love as the Porsche did even if the market value cannot compare.
I love the sound of that exhaust!
Great car and video !
Just a minor suggestion - a squirt of cutting lube on the bandsaw and hole saws - they won't blunt so quick !
Love this series, great to see it coming together, fantastic work on the exhaust. 👍👏☘️
Looking good! I kept eyeing around the yard looking for some new yard art 🤣😉!
Great video! Love the Firebird
Almost ready for Power Tour
Thanks for cleaning it 🫡🇺🇸
“Fresh of breath air”?
I thought I was the only one who turned my words around. 😊
I have to be honest. I was a bit skeptical of the exhaust until you fired her up. Just the right balance of rumble and bass without being obnoxious. I can't wait to see her all dolled up.
Awesome modifications, just a cool Firebird, thanks for saving Her.
I love what you guys are doing with this Bird! I will keep looking for next coming video's like i did with the Targa... Keep it up and go make it fast and looking better...
Sounds meaty guys! Another great video!
Excellent restoration. I really enjoyed every segment of it. Since I’m a Porsche man, I look forward to your next restoration.
Love Budget Builds who Couldn't 😁
I had a 77 Trans Am, with the 400 ... still anemic as hell. I also had a 79 Trans Am with 4 speed and a highly tickled 400. It was an absolute banshee!!!
Great Idea! Gears and a 4 SPEED!
WOW! Excellent work. Looking forward to the next installment.
Great video. Back in the day, I was the proud owner of 3 mid-70's F-bodies. (A '78 T/A with a 400ci Pontiac was the high-end model.) You are on the right track here , and be thankful you've got a 350-SBC already! Intake & exhaust are critical, but you really need a stage-2 cam. (Nothing crazy, pick one that raises the power band up about 1000 rpm.) After that, you'll be amazed what new KYB Gas-Adjust shocks, suspension bushings, and heavy sway bars will do!
Really enjoying this car!
That exhaust sounds great
Great video as usual Michael, wouldn't expect anything less! Waiting for the new interior like you guys did on that beautiful 61 Galaxy!
Man that exhaust is amazing!
You guys just keep getting better, much love and respect. Bruce NZ
Really like this car!! Plz do a full restoration! So satisfying seeing a car come back to life. You guys wanna make me start working on cars lol
Michael I just love the way you and your dad have so much fun together. That's what a father and son should do. Many blessings to you and your family as always your friend Joe in Ohio
Really enjoy these types of videos. Thanks
More! This car is amazing!
One word says it all...S-W-E-E-T!!! 🥰🥰 Absolutely LOVE how it sounds now! 🥰🥰
That will look so good restored.
LOVE IT GUYS, keeps me some motivation on my firebird
Fun seeing the progress on this car.
Sounds MEAN! Great job.
Wow. You guys sure do know your way around an exhaust system & you DEFINITELY can lay down some SICK welds!! 😮👍🏻 That thing sounds awesome now!!
Dont forget seatbelts, lots of kids watching 😊will you do some custom interior on this?
Your Dad must be living well,i thought he was your brother. He looks young! Recently found your channel and im enjoying it very much. Thanks for the fun post!
Wow 😮 what a difference it makes just changing out a few things , Great job 👍 guys
I was about to say put an Edelbrock on it! Sounds great now.
Another great one!!! So fun to watch.
