It's absolutely crazy how accurately they made Unity feel like Build. There are times while playing this that I kind of forget that it's not actually from the 90s (and I can pick apart inaccuracies in throwback shooters pretty quickly).
I played the demo to this and so much of it rings true for me as someone who grew up in the 90s and was an internet edge lord, but I was always shit at being that. But still, I have this warm place in my heart for stupid shit like this and the idea that if this came out when it was made 25 years ago (in canon) it would’ve been considered one of the best games of the era for its gameplay alone is hilarious. All of the shitty humor and poop jokes are so cringey now and at the time would’ve also been too much, but as a kid then you’d think it was pushing boundaries like no one had ever considered it before lol
This game has some Postal energy, if Postal was less offensive and more immature and self aware. Edit: the internet chud in me feels on brand for this type of game by saying this: Significant Other is the Limp Bizkit album cover you were thinking of.
The voice casting for this game was just as much of a fever dream (in the best way) as the gameplay LMFAO Steffanie's lines were recorded on a phone mic in the car, for example.
