Wow, this video has made all the difference in my golf career. People have always complemented me on my beautiful swing while yet I would continue to make another terrible shot. One professional even gave up on me during a lesson saying that he couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. IT WAS MY GRIP. I read Ben Hogan's book but when I saw this video, a light came on and I realized I was gripping the club wrong all my life. Confidence is here now and I really am thankful for this video.
Actually Tiger uses interlock on driver, fairway, and full iron shots. He does this for control. For any feel shots with wedges he uses overlap. He mentioned that in a Golf Digest interview somewhere around 2006.

Thank you for all the great videos. I hurt shoulder awhile back took a break from golf, started playing again with no success. With these videos Ive got my game back!!
Rick...GREAT VIDEO! I just started to play the game and am very anxious to start on the right foot. This is the first video I watch on the grip and the LAST because it was demonstrated so well. With that being said...I have a question that hopefully you or any of the players here can answer: 1- Do you use the same grip for all of your shots? Or is there another grip for putting, chipping, etc.? Thanks for the help.

Here's some info about the course, its in Marbella Spain, the annual membership cost is 4000 euros or roughly 5200 dollars. And for a junior like my self (17 years old) it'd cost me 61 dollars to play 18 holes here. Totally worth it though, absolutely beautiful course.

I am looking for a good grip reference video and so far I am 0 in 3, your thumb should not point straight down the shaft it should be at 2:00 if you are right handed and 10:00 for a lefty a lot of people can play good golf but everyone cant teach beginners remember that as you watch golf training videos enjoy the 2015 golf season

Try setting the face of the club to the ball and then grip. If you're still having problems show an accomplished golfing your problem and they will fix you right up.
coldfire9090 It is ultimately up to you, but I don't think so. Only like 1% of pros have a baseball grip, but then again only 1% of people use a baseball grip. In fact, Tommy Two-Gloves has a true baseball grip, where your thumbs are on your fingers, and not the club (and he has shot a 60 on tour)!! Honestly if you're averaging about 43 on a 9, you should stick with it. You will at least be in the high 70s (for 18) by the time you are out of high school, and probably even mid-low 70s if you practice well enough. I think how you practice is more important than how you grip, and so is how you swing. I'm 20 and have used a baseball grip for a long time. I am out-driving almost everyone I know, and I am outscoring people who have played longer than I have been alive.

I'm 15, and on my golf team, I shoot very good (mid-low 40s). I still use the baseball grip, should I try and switch it to the interlock grip?
Are you still playing golf? You should be in college by now.

left thumb on top or to the left will causes slicing. Strong grip is with left thumb to the right.

@mike currier I disagree, left handers are smart enough to know if we want to see it left handed, just watch through a mirror.

If i follow this exactly, i wind up with a very closed club face when I address the ball. Frustrating

the people who disliked this are most likely left handed
