I know this is blowing up but this is not just good, but also is able to do the classic anime song thing where it tells you the central conflict of the story in it. I can fuckin' see the whole arc here, the brother that dies was ambitious, but only really excels at making simple pizzas due to his appreciation and care for the dish. The brother who survives wants to chase that ambition, but a rift forms between them because he thinks the key is exotic ingredients, new cooking techniques, and perhaps even some avant-garde pizza cooking. The older brother chafes at the younger's lack of consideration for the dish and how the person eating it will feel, while the younger one thinks he's spouting useless sentimentality as an excuse to not try and improve his craft. When the older brother dies, the younger one just can't do what the place used to do. Not just because he lacks the care and sensitivities that are required to really bring out the best in simple dishes, but because cooking pizza reminds him of his brother and it's just too hard. It leads to him rediscovering his love of pizza, and blending together his brother's love and appreciation for the dishes and the experience that food brings people with his skill, creativity, and willingness to take risks. He realizes that his brother wasn't just talking out his ass, but trying to get across that the best food is made when the person making it loves doing it and cares about how the person eating it will feel. A perfect ending for a perfect anime. The moment when the MC used the forbidden pineapple technique to defeat the Deep Dish Overlord, still gives me chills to this day.
@@thesagapov The emotional ambiguity of the ending is where its genius lies. It's similar episode 20, Season 4 where Diana is eating MC's newest recipie after he overcomes his pizza inhibition. She's expecting stuffed crust, he PROMISED her stuffed crust... But did he mean it? Did he listen to her? Would she ever get through to him? And that last scene. Where she takes the bite of the crust...it jump cuts to a close up of her widening eyes...and then cuts to black! Still gives me chills every time. Honestly, Mr. Pasta was such an underrated antagonist. Sure, he didn’t pose half the threat of the Chicagans or the King of Hawaii, but he didn’t need to. He wasn’t a master chef like the main character, he was a master salesman, the exact opposite of our protagonist. He was the one thing that couldn’t be defeated, even if he wasn’t a Super Chef or didn’t have access to Colored Sauce like the main group of protagonists or villains, because he didn’t need it. The protagonists Red Sauce can’t destroy late stage capitalism. It was only through the cook off did our hero see success, and even then it only prolonged the inevitable return of Mr. Pasta. Now, spoilers for the manga: Mr. Pasta is eventually killed in the Great Saute along with 90% of humanity, but not before we learn his backstory. A poor boy who was forced to work day and night to feed his little brother, who sadly passed away from the Pizza Plague that plagued Italy in the 1990s. Some speculate that his greedy behavior was a result of him internallizing money as safety: If he has money, he won’t starve. If he has money, his brother won’t die… Now, the King of Hawaii definently has a more tragic backstory in my opinion, but we gotta remember that Mr. Pasta was created before the introduction of the Colored Sauces, and before the revival of the Pineapple Spirits by the Shamans. The story was a lot less focused on action and more grounded, though it did still have it’s action based scenes. It’s just sad that he was just killed off…so much potential…
The lyrics were corny, yet heartfelt, and the visuals really brought this mastapiece together. I truly learned something listening to/watching this amazing anime ED tonight. I'll carry a pizza this with me wherever I go from now on.

When it said "I believe in the you that believes in cheese / Cause a pizza you still lives inside of me" I really felt that. Your pizza is the pizza that's going to garnish the heavens!
"i believe in the you that believes in cheese" that reference to the first episode when his brother said, "i believe any pizza kind can reach the stars, even without toppings" it was such a strong scene for peope who like cheese pizza and people tend to forget about it, favoring the crazier scenes later in the series.
1:00 is a beautiful part of the ED. it shows MC's brother holding up his hand to the right, which is from the flashback scene where MC's brother talks about opening up a pizza place with MC (this is my personal favourite scene in the whole series), and then shows the MC's hand with it to the left. It looks like they're reaching out for eachother. Then it shows MC's hand in the sky from the season finale. It's simply incredible, him reaching out to his brother in the sky and also him reaching to the stars after he makes his best pie, because his brother wanted to make "a pie so good, it'll reach the stars" which is what he said in the flashback earlier. At first, I thought it was a coincidence, but seeing that they actually mirrored the scene so that their hands met genuinely brought me to tears and showes how much effort was put into this series. Also the line "cause a pizza you still lives inside of me" goes with it so well. MC didn't want to make pizza in the beginning of the series because of the tragedy. It took Diana leaving in the midseason and him constantly seeing Pizza Hut wherever he went to finally start making pizzas again, and when he finally gets it right, he attributes it to his brother for getting him back into it. He saw those things as a sign from his brother and that a piece of him was inside him to continue making pizza and to make the pie that reached the stars.

The melody occurred to me while I was in the gym; the final 2 lines occurred to me while I was resting between sets. The rest was basically just execution. So, I guess I felt the need because I felt the potential for a song worth putting effort into.

I’ve been listening to this every single month since its release. Worth it
aw thanks
I'm actually crying, this is so good?
Tyty aw
holy shit this is fucking crazy the drop gave me goosebumps
Thank you!
SLICE OF LIFE is the best anime ever made! IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT PIZZA! 😭
I love this
Idk if I'll watch any of your other videos, but you get a sub out of sheer fucking respect man this is amazing. I was CONVINCED you got ProZD to do the vocals or something goDAMN
Thanks, but yeah nah it’s just me lmao
Why did you feel the need to make this so incredible!?!
BECAUSE THIS IS MY ART
thank you btw
When I watched the “last 10 seconds” skit, the ending song caught my ear and I thought it was really funny. Lyrics just started occurring to me (and so did the anime’s vague resemblance to TTGL), so I spent a few hours on and off writing lyrics and coming up with a song structure. The melody occurred to me while I was in the gym; the final 2 lines occurred to me while I was resting between sets. The rest was basically just execution. So, I guess I felt the need because I felt the potential for a song worth putting effort into.
I can’t believe how good this is
Fantastic
What the actual fuck, this is amazing! you took a 4 second clip and made a legit song.
ty! the music sungwon used is actually a real anime ED (credited at the end of the vid), so it's actually a legit song already
This was a banger, any plans to do the OP too? The one teased in the Anime OP clashes with the tone skit released a few days ago
Yeah so like, I was otw home from a uni class the day I was going to finish this video and he posted the OP skit and I was like GOD DAMNIT
I might make one if time permits B^]
My friend I have made the OP (latest vid on my channel)
This is just beautiful
Thanks!
