TDA7492P Volts VS. Volume

  • Does the input voltage of the module determines the output sound volume (or gain if you like)?
    In the specification of the amplifier chip, I found characteristics telling that, 2 times volts will provide 2 times amplification. But in real time I did not have noticed any change.

    I have not done a thorough test yet, but it seems like the amp distorts less at higher volumes if it gets more volts.

    very weird - so this happens just with this amplifier or also with other type of amplifier boards?

    My mine if you put it at max volume make continuous puses for some reason whats wrong?
    Does it needs more volts? (I supply it with 12.6v)

      12.6V is okay as log as your power source can supply enough Amps. It depends on the speakers, but for 12V 2Amps should be enough.

    I have mine powered at 9 volts, and it sounds just fine at full volume with 40 watt speakers.

    volume won't increase unless volume is turned up. more volts equals more output power. meaning the system will sound better at higher volumes with more voltage.

      That's right, I found that the amp can "take" higher volume with higher voltage, also if the volts drop only slightly below 12v it distorts horribly.

      I am considering buying the TDA4792P Bluetooth board. I have a 4 ohm speaker that has an RMS of 30Watts and Peak Power Handling of 60Watts so should I buy the 2x50W version or the 2x25W version as it says 'best at 8 ohms'. Does that mean it will be 2x100W at 4 ohms? Please help. It would be appreciated. : )

      I would suggest you get bigger speakers for this amplifier, I have two 4 ohm speakers running off the 2x50 amplifier, rated at 100w RMS and 200w peak each, and they seem to be almost too small for the amp. The 25w amp puts out 12.5 RMS per channel while the 2 x 50W puts out 25w rms per channel.

      Both speakers you are describing here are too small for this amp, I am running 2x 4ohm 200w speakers from the 2x50w of the amp version and they are barely coping with the peak output of the amp.

    Hey this short vid is great!
    So many and many tda7492 applications videos but all based on specification
    You showed and cleared all doubts!
    So I can power it with just 3x18650 in series battery pack?

    • @sharedinventions
      @sharedinventions  6 лет назад

      Yes, you can. It will work great for hours. BUT! You should use an "S3" battery protection circuit, and also it will be a bit of a pain charging them.

      @@sharedinventions cool thanks!
      Yes ill use this bms
      www.amazon.it/gp/aw/d/B075MH7321/ref=sspa_mw_detail_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&th=1
      Is it ok?
      Also my doubt here is...can I just charge it by connecting a 12.6v adapter to P- and P+ of bms or still required a li-ion charger?

    • @sharedinventions
      @sharedinventions  6 лет назад

      The BMS is a must, but you shouldn't charge it directly. You need a balance charger or the best is to charge each 18650s separate.

      @@sharedinventions thanks a lot Balázs
      So if I got it right 3 tp4056 would be a better option?
      Would it be bms 3s + a tp4056 for each cell?
      Fell free to stop replying when I get bothering LOL

    • @sharedinventions
      @sharedinventions  6 лет назад

      :) Yes. One 3D BMS and three TP4056. But keep in mind, that you still cannot power the the three TP4056 with the same 5 Volt power source. You have to charge it one by one. Or I recommend using an external charger: rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338330151&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm570.l1313%26_nkw%3D18650%2Bcharger%26_sacat%3D0

    You dont hear it in the volym level! If you have some good speakers ( inclousured) you can hear a massive increasing i soundquality, because the amplifier has more effect on the outputs and can therefore controll the speakers wit more bass and midrandge and discant. I woul recommende you to get some books about amplifier technics and some books of analog signaltreating. That will get you aknowdge to rise about inimpedans, outimpedans, how amplifiers work, how much inputpower is needed to get maximal output. Allså is the output relatet to ingoing impedanse from your musiplayer! Of you want the best signal to your amplier, I would recommendere you to purchese a preamp and a powersupply at least an 24v. Then you get the best result from your aplifiers!

      You are right in that I do not read many books about amplifier technics. But I'm open to learn it, this video is a part of this learning process. What I did, is that I have read the specification of the TDA7492P. From the charts I see that the more volts I give to the module, the more output power it provides. Now I understand (as you also pointed out), that it does not effect the volume.
