I love LEGO but this expansion wasn’t what we asked for tbh.
You know what we need.
A 3rd expansion that uses the 2 bridges north of Edinburgh.
Good map, bad/not enough cars
I honestly would have preferred Hot Wheels 2 with a mix of track and offroad races.
I did as much as I wanted to do in the first weekend, as to not get stuck in winter. Hot Wheels was more fun and took a lot longer.
As I first said when i heard about the lego expansion i knew it would be rubbish and forza was just out to make a quick buck, I wasnt disappointed as I was right in fact I was more than just right I felt ripped off and let down by forza as I prepaid for 2 expansions the first of which was Treasure Island which was fun in it's own way but even that had more than 3 and a bit cars, they should right this expansion off and give us a new one for free but listen to the gamers for what they want I never saw any comment asking for this lego rubbish, sorry for going on but bloody hell this lego expansion is CRAP and for them to release it when it's not even complete it's downright ridiculous and disrespectful to the gaming community!!! Rant over love your videos fella peace!!🤙
we need at least 7 unique lego cars as always any simple themed DLC, and the last expansions always added 10 cars, so unacceptable what they did!
I rate this expansion a 2 out of 10. The only thing worthwhile is the race track, and that should be bigger, and on the Great Britain map. Unfortunately the race track will always be locked in Legoland. I do not recommend the expansion. Cheers

For me, I was kind of let down by the map too, as it is pretty small. The cars are great, but when looking at other expansions that had 7-10 cars added, this really lacks, I’m also sad about the barn find. The game is sometimes glitchy, when I try to hit collectables/boards, I go through them rather than destroying them. I just hope the devs know what they are doing, because at this point, I’m having my doubts...

im so mad that when I got the barn find it said wait for a content update. My game updated a few days ago, I'm all excited like, cool I hope I can see the new LEGO barn find, hopefully it isn't disappointing! But nope, my game still said wait for another update. I think everyone else's did this too? Waited an hour to hopefully see a new lego car but, Forza was like Nah, I think I'll keep players annoyed by updating and not giving them the barn find!
Agreed so far btw. I think 90% of the community feels the same way. You can tell the expansion could have been so good but instead was just a missed opportunity.

Perfect map for games
The houses are an essence of progress for a younger player, in a continuation of a no more then a home arcade game.
It’s fun to play but when I’ve heard about Lego expansion I was expecting something like build your own Lego car. Or something like that. House is tottaly pointless. This is a driving game,and however you can’t even get into the house as you’ve already said. Wish I could’ve been like tdu.

I rate the LEGO DLC 0/10. Who asked for a LEGO expansion? I would like to seen many new awesome production road cars instead. Such as the new ish Ferrari 488 Pista, the retro Jaguar S-Type R, the awesome Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG, the ground breaking Lister Storm V12 and the old school Jensen Interceptor and the list goes on. Also, a massive, I mean fundamental update to the poor car engine sounds in this game. Instead we get a LEGO DLC which restricts me immersing into the game and spoils the entire atmosphere. Its a fail in my view. :(

Fair review but I respectfully disagree. I was fairly disappointed when I heard that the second expansion would be Lego themed but it has exceeded my expectations in almost every respect. There are some of the best routes yet seen in Forza as well as a lot of variety in gameplay. If I have any criticism, it’s that like all of FH 4 it’s fairly easy to complete but still great fun. I have completed everything in about a week of playing and am now working on the Rivals section. All in all it offers a lot of value for the price and I really enjoyed it. I suspect there is more to come with at least a Lego car pack in the near future.
I agree! I think this is a good review, but I LOVE the expansion. I've loved what they did with the expansion. I wish there were more cars, but the ones we got are awesome and even faster than the normal cars. The progression is in my opinion way better than the normal game itself.
Tim Moore I do agree that it was fun at times but I can’t help but notice the lack of development time this expansion had, no Lego ai in races or free roam, 3 currently available cars and an unreleased barn find. It just doesn’t feel finished to me, perhaps with a little more time to complete it I would enjoy it more but I ran out of things to do pretty quickly which is a shame as it had so much potential.
Josh Howard I had maybe 25 hours in it to complete it. That’s well under a dollar an hour, I think that’s pretty good value, you could easily pay the same to go and see a movie. I’m now learning the routes via Rivals and still enjoying it.
I think the whole expansion is alright but only 3 LEGO cars and no new regular cars that’s unacceptable 😡
even a real car covered in legos as an extra would be cool

effisjens totally agree, the criticism for all of FH4 has been almost totally unjustified. I’ve got over 500 hours in now and still feel challenged with some parts of the game. Where else can you get that amount of entertainment for your money?
I spent 1 day on this expansion and I didn't get my mini this was a horrible dlc plus they are doing content updates to make it last longer this game is soo sad I was open minded not now

I disagree. Personally, I think they did an amazing job. Do I think they could’ve done more? Of course! But I do think they did an amazing job with what they did. It is by far my favorite expansion in Forza Horizon! I can definitely see your side though...❤️
When they revealed the expansion was legos without looking at it I was already dissapointed. 13 hours later and 100% completed I feel nothing, back to the mainland in the game and no urge or reason to go back to lego land, unlike the hotwheels expansion in horizon3 that I still visit till this day
I agree with this. I finished the expansion on the 15! This was so quick to finish. I wanted more cars. The challenges, although many, were easy to do. I want a huge expansion like storm island. Even fortune island was pretty quick to complete. Keep it real Ericship 111.
Let US BUILD the cars, the houses, the race tracks, etc: voila, you have captured the creativity and imagination brought to you only by LEGO
love the expansion, i agree 4 cars is not enough, but we need to realize that to transform a regular ingame car to a LEGO vers. takes as much time as building for exemple the Lego circuit or the Airport.. it takes a whole lot of time, and it depend if each car manufacturer's agrees or not to see their cars represented as this... they can"t do anything crazy with liscenced cars... but i love the expansion despite the fact that the lack of LEGO cars in it.. 12 would have been a good balance for me... but i think we will have more expansion for FH4 than any other Horizon , because the next one will not be released until late 2021...
i understand why u are frustrated, but like u said it's a racing game, not a construction game at all... wait until Lego release their own racing game , and maybe you will be able to create something.....
The DLCs are the most disappointing ever. Why? Every forza prior to FH4 has had multiplayer lobbies. That's 10 games. MP lobbies are expected to be in every forza game and DLC. It was missing from both of the FH4 DLC expansions. This is unacceptable. The players need to speak up. Submit a ticket as a "suggestion" here: support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/requests/new
I love all the horizon games but if they are going to be making single player only games then I'm not interested. No more pre orders or prepaying for content. Good thing GRID (2019) is dropping soon.
Overall its what I expected from the devs. A fairly minamilstic lego collab with a few cars and a lego theme. I'm not disappointed with the expansion because its turn 10. There's not team adventure because the map is too small and they need to focus on improving the main servers anyway.
Like I said the map is small but it's what I expected as no other expansions have had a map the size of the main one. The lego cars, although I see the appeal for them, I don't care about them. Theres no way we would ever get a fully customisable lego car because of the tbh quite lazy devs.
Theres so many other points I could dig into but there's not really much point.
For the next game and next expansions I expect the same stuff; alright driving experience, very little communication between devs and players, a heavy focus on bringing in more players and zero progression. At this point the devs don't care for the die hard fans, they care about having more players so their company looks better and can gain more money. There's no way we would get another amazing game like fh1 because that won't bring in new players. But despite this, I will still play the game and buy anything new because at this moment in time there are no other competitors for this style of game and I like the basic premise of the game: get money and drive cars you'll probably never see. Yes there's alot wrong with the game but there's nothig else
Because most of us that actually play forza horizon 4 aren't 6 years old. Wish I would have waited. Cars are pretty fast but overall it's shit

My thoughts: This game was the first time for me per-ordering and buying the ultimate edition on a game. Though I did enjoy the game and its expansion, I was left mostly unsatisfied. You made some great points in this video, I felt this expansion was rushed. They wanted to get this out during E3 even if it wasn't finished and it back fired on them. It is a missed opportunity that there isn't a possibility to play any of the expansion tracks online. Can you imagine the stunt park as a playground game event?! you can't even do a playground event there with your friends! such a missed opportunity. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy this game, but it was not worth the $100 I forked over. They could have done so much better, and this has thought me not to invest in a game through preorders or ultimate editions. I really hope they redeem themselves in coming updates and in the next horizon.
I wish you could actually choose where you wanted parts of your house to go instead of a plane or whatever putting them down

As someone who valiantly defended the Lego DLC on both r/Forza and the related discord, even I feel truly gutted at the lack of cars and the wasted potential almost to the point where I feel kinda stupid for defending it so much, I literally beat everything in it in 36hrs and haven't touched it since :(

I think some salt on the wound is that they made us wait about a month longer for the expansion and were hyping it up like "oh, it's gonna be the greatest DLC in Horizon history, everyone's gonna love it", and we ended up with yet another mediocre expansion that really brings nothing new to the table, safe for some funny-looking replicas of cars we already have. I think the Top Gear story and update 11 in general was at least 3x better than the LEGO expansion, and the story wasn't even voiced by one of the original trio (I know why it wasn't, since one was fired and the other two quit shortly after, but I still wanted to point it out)

Good thing I bought the VIP for $100. Haven't had to pay for anything else since, otherwise it would've amounted to over $200 of wasted money. Maybe for next Forza Horizon, I'll only buy the normal version, and maybe, just maybe, buy a DLC car or two.

The Lego Philosophy as Eric mentioned, is Building, imagination and creativity. Which is true, but how are they going to implement that into the game?? How would you if were a developer at Playground Games create that in the game? Don't say let us build our houses, or build the cars, because that is totally outlandish. I could say that the Hot Wheels expansion sucked due to the fact that they were totally irrelevant in the game other than the twin mill. At least in the Lego Expansion, all of the cars can be faster than their real counterparts even if both are upgraded, and I tested this myself. Eric, your claim is very loosly tied, and I think that there could be improvements. However, they have confirmed more content for the expansion. Also concerning Longetivity, a lot of us aren't people that play games all day. We have lives. I am still working on completing the expansion and I am currently around 8,000 Bricks. Longetivity, I think they did pretty good. Just as good as Blizzard Mountain in FH3.
I tried to melt my FH3 and FH4 game discs together to see if I could get custom route option and all the cool new cars into FH3 map and gameplay...all I got was Keira telling me ‘Welcome to Horizon’s 5th Season...the ‘Maybe Next Time Sucker’ season... but then she said hold on to your nuts and bolt I think we need another instruction manual!!!??
I do respect your opinion. However, I personally love this expansion. The way there are so many different biomes in a small world, and the amount of challenges you have to complete (and I know you said it was pointless after getting the senna). I understand there are only 3 cars (4 including the barn find) but I think it’s fine. There’s not always a need for 7-10 cars. Also, it’s also a lot easier for new people to come in and join the community. I don’t know, it’s just my opinion. Overall, I thought it was a decent expansion and I wish they would continue with stuff like this. I know I’m in the minority here but I just wanted to put this out there. Good video btw.
LEGO is too juvenile for an expansion in a game like Forza. Hot Wheels was awesome and it actually made sense in FH3. I don’t see any additional reasons why LEGO is in FH4; The map is too small, the challenges are almost too easy and the LSC cars look nothing like their real-world counterparts.

I'm personally right there with you Eric. When I first heard that the rumors were true that Forza's new expansion was going to be Lego themed I was extremely disappointed. I wanted a Hot Wheels 2.0 because of all the new things they've added in FH4 to make the Hot Wheels Expansion even better, instead we get a Lego Expansion of all things. However, I tried to go into the expansion with an open mind and it was fun for a little bit but it quickly became lack luster and overall just terrible. Then I found out that there were only 3 playable new cars it added to the disappointment because not only did we get such a bland expansion in the way of playability we were robbed of the opportunity to have more cars added. Not to mention we get a 4th car and you can't even drive it because it's not ready yet! Talk about disappointments, I'm playing an incomplete expansion! The progression system is a good idea on paper but it ended up being such a grind and so unrewarding when you complete tasks that I'm completely unmotivated to complete the last few brick challenges. "Oh boy I get a statue at my totally useless house I'm so glad I spent all that time and energy for a statue!" Said literally no one ever. Like you said there's plenty of missed opportunities with this expansion and it's really quite depressing when you think about it. I find that the only reason I even choose to stay at Lego Valley is solely because of the racetrack because I love racing on it and even created a pretty fun custom track there. I feel robbed with this expansion, I put a lot of time and energy into getting so far into that expansion and for so little reward it's honestly quite aggravating and I hope Forza do something else in the future because these kinds of things are the reasons people don't enjoy Forza that much. It's hard for me to feel happy about this expansion as an entirety.
Horzion 3 was way better. And maybe last true Forza game. The next one needs to be between Forza Horizon 2 and 3. 4 is being lackluster. And I'm a super die hard Lego fan but I'm happy Lego is in this but the way it was done is a major let down.
The lego DLC was a big disappointment for my, i was hoping for at racing in a lego world with lego cars, and not a copy and paste system from FH3, insted of festivals, it is just a house you build. But atleast, i can hide the lego DLC icon on the main map now, after i did buy it :-/
The expansion itself is a good idea,but the way pgg made the expansion,wasnt good at all,they ruined the name of LEGO,what meant creativity and building yourself,they shouldve had a contract with the lego creator company,beacuse their products give people a chance to build their own cars!
I completely agree with your point on creativity too, any sort of custom building we could do would be awesome, but instead the overall experience seems very shallow. When I got the barn find and it said that "the instructions are missing" I assumed It was some part of the story and we would have to do more to finish the car. Then I realized it was incomplete and was truly disappointed. After completing all the challenges, I found the expansion lacked any longevity as there was really nothing left to do. Sad to see so much wasted potential.
I personally really enjoyed the LEGO expansion. I mean yeah, more then 3 god damn cars would be nice, and the barn find thing was absolute horse shit, but the expansion is pretty damn fun.

Do as much so it doesn't look like nothing, but don't do to much, so we get more money from the idiots that play our game and don't have to pay too much for the workers
I grew up playing lego games so i like it. The map size seems fine to me. Now fh5 rally expansion was waaaay smaller and disappointing than this.
It's kind of like Gran Turismo when Redbull took over Polyphony's marketing. It all went mostly for advertising.

It would have been far more fun if we could build our own cars. A destruction derby multi player would have been cool too, last car moving wins.
Only appealing things to me from this expansion was the race track and maybe the stunt park and runway, otherwise this DLC is absolutely not that much in my interest. Every other expansion was much better than LEGO in my opinion.
Honestly I knocked out all of the master builder challenges in the first week. I gave up after because I lost interest since it’s just another big race grind

Well I seen this coming since the majority of the community never asked for this. I think the future expansions need to be integrated into the current map in the future if that's even possible. But also add more than just cars add new wings or vehicle upgrades.
@Shabaka Smkss It's rumored that there is going to be a 3rd expansion for FH4 since the Forza Developers are currently not planning on making the next Motorsport this year. They are more focused on the current Motorsport 7 and are just starting a new community feed back system for the next Motorsport title so most likely September 2020 is when the new Forza Title will be released.
