Indian entrepreneurs were always global. It is the govt of India babus who created ghettos for them. These IAS, IPS, Judiciary. Municipality and overall politics continued from the colonial-era with Sharia has been the reason for oppression of Indian entrepreneurship.
To give you an example, 95% of the world Diamond trade is controlled by a tiny percentage of Gujarati Jains. Did you know that?

It seems like some of the technocrats that are heads of tech corporations in India lack foresight. Rajiv Malhotra's questions exposed the lack of foresightedness of Indian executives. Sad that these people only benefitted themselves from labour arbitrage but did no investment on research and development. No wonder why Infosys took years to code Goods and Sales Tax Network(GSTN).

Rajiv ji you asked - "What did China do, that India didn't get right?"
In my view, the answer is simple. They get educated in their own mother tongue.
We get educated in a foreign language - English.
Education in a foreign language is what is hampering original innovation, since English-medium education and current curriculum is designed to create drones, not innovators, leaders or thinkers at the scale mother tongue education could have.

Good discussion. Shri Rajivji as usual is at his best doing whatever he can to wake up the Indian intelligentsia. While Dr Raghu makes imp points there's a reticence in accepting the dire situation India is in wrt technology. To compete with the biggies in AI, we need the right policy, investment, supply and demand side ecosystem. And most of these have substantial gestation periods requiring National vision, commitment, etc. In an AI driven economy how do you align the rest of the sectors without people sliding down is something that should be bothering our leaders and technocrats. So better start by accepting the baseline and move ahead.

Around 28:00 Mr. Malhotra offers a key puzzle to the model of us "nueva" Indian intellectuals - we have Sanskrit within us and we have AI within us, but we don't connect, displaying a huge cleavage in the profile. A lot of this stems from our deep cultural practices and understandings (I see it everyday in my life all around me). Culturally, we learn the Mantras by rote (you will hear a majority of Swamis endorsing that their student knows the Bhagvad Gita by heart - just no more than that) , chant it in unison or competition in temples, do the "Niyamas" mechanically; the AI is, yet again, another cultural push of social standing and earning vast wealth (believe me behind all that pretense of piety there is a huge materialistic hunger). Somewhere, all the great meanings of the Mantras have been lost in the shine of an English cognitive capture and the sweep of history. The Sanskrit language of yore has a cognition of a vast dimension - completely unexplored by us - you can't get more than six names in such a vast time of history to have explored the oldest of mankind's text, the Rk Veda. A fundamental question here is - what should be the model of the human being be (government and citizen), both as a perpetrator and consumer of the inevitable AI? ( it was once a question also asked of the threat coming from nuclear science)

If you still can't grasp the meaning then look into the mirror to locate where the gap lies. For greater clarification, keep in mind the education level and far reaching achievements of him in the field of computer sciences and related fields.

Sir, in a recent move earlier this year, The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), in its approval handbook for 2021-2022, has made Class 12 Physics and Mathematics subjects optional for admission to undergraduate engineering courses like BE, B. Tech.
My question - How will we produce better Engineers and tech Entrepreneurs if they haven't studied basics on Mathematics or Physics? This is to Mr. Cavale's point on understanding of Physics and Mathematics as a 'must' for students.

With tech evolving so fast, 2 years late is just 1 km of a marathon or 40kms of a marathon? not catching basis technology on time will have impact on subsequent technologies too. what about that? I did not hear clear answer from Mr Raghu on Indian Industrialist's responsibility for Nation building. I still happy to hear the other side so calmly by Mr Raghu. job redundancy through automation at large and automation of intelligence in particular is something i have been discussing with people , and no one seems to get it . AI can eliminate meaning from human life , and we are unable to project our imagination in any manner to look at possible solutions. we are still struggling with binary thought and an inability to adapt to grow beyond supply demand economics . the answer will take its time in the coming , but then I hope we are not picnicking on a volcano.

We are populous, but unlike China, more than 65% population is agro based. There is 1 farmer behind every 1.5 person, we have. Whatever we wish major portion of India's outlay will be consumed in subsidies, MSP of grains and vegetables. However inefficient but we have net surplus of grains and vegetables.
Even though the population is getting stabilised, candidly put there is fear and we'll founded

    • @SAGAN6304
      @SAGAN6304 3 года назад

Islamisation of India. A lot of time, resource, govt policies will be consumed in addressing farmers related issues. This merathon mentioned in the discussion, although long, but would be finished faster than we think it would last. It would be finished by sprinter like China. Dr Malhotra views are overseeing, while dr cavale is seeing from inside out. Israel has made use of AI in agriculture, they needed it. Looking India in perspective from demographic divide, North, South East and West there is no uniting thread. In short focus on IT, AI coding etc will remain in private sector domain for next few decades. By then we would have lost the race and probably be colonised in the sense Dr Malhotra perceive. It may sound pessimistic, but that's the situation today with no silver lining seen in the horizon.

AI is not one skill. The data pipeline is the biggest part. Most critical part is the "language" we define. ex: Indian centrists call themselves as right wing. The AI algorithms give meaning to words and make it fixed by using wikipedia for 'data training'. So Indians carelessly using negative words to define themselves, is a problem. Indian media calling Indians as Nazis carefully is a problem. Will worsen due to AI.

This guy seems delusional. "Market will decide " -- typical mindset of a colonized mind.

Very boring guy. Typical Indian manager type who will never give an honest answer and always wants to spin some positive sounding nonsense in your direction. Affects a pined expresson as he tries hard to explain to us morons how great his company is. What a contrast between him and Rajiv Malhotra.
