last time i was stuck i south lake tahoe during a blizzard i used rain x on my windshield and made it all the way through carson city to reno with no wipers. alway rent if not own and SUV with high profile tires and a set of backup chains.
@@laketahoeliving Your video attracted my attention because we'll be driving from Texas to Reno for a conference next month (and hopefully back). Four wheel drive with chains for all tires - heavy cold weather gear - survival food and water - flashlights & road flares - tow strap - hand warmers - minus 20 washer fluid - isopropyl alcohol for quick window deicing - etc. All that plus our trade show stuff... The Ford Excursion (with pretty new all-terrain tires) will be maxed-out...

Hey! Not to Heavenly Village tomorrow from San Francisco and the videos I saw of the drive up there are terrifying 😭do you know if there is a way to avoid that no guardrail section with drops at either side?
Lol I know 80 takes you to incline / n lake it’s way easier and not as scary of a drive. 50 takes you to a lake not much you can do there just don’t go when it’s snowing it’s super scary. Best of luck!🙏🙃
