    Nikki- I want to make an important suggestion. Find another place to keep the "Golden Camper Dog" statute. My mother-in-law had a statute in her pickup truck about where yours is. A drunk hit her head on. The statute went airborne and killed her instantly. Please move yours to somewhere safe.

      When I was in high school, hanging Austrian crystals from the mirror was a thing. A girl almost choked to death on one in an accident. That’s when I learned everything up there is illegal and that is why.
      Such a horrible way to lose a loved one, very sorry to hear about your family’s loss.

    Great video keep them coming all I would suggest is when you go to fill up your freshwater tanks use a white hose on the inside not a black hose for something. It will put mold in your holding tanks with black hose. Use a white hose for freshwater. Trust me on this one. I worked at camping world for years as a warehouse manager. Ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping RUSS OUT

    Hey Nikki, to avoid eggs sticking to your pan, heat up you pan real hot, put a few drops of water in. If you see water pearls dancing, turn down the heat a little. Put some oil an crack you egg and voila you have a non stick pan. It won't work if the water evaporates in an instant. The water drops must dance.

So my children were raised in the 70s and so when we were up in that area we went by to see the Bonanza site where they shot all of those shows. We all were extremely surprised at how small the house is actually. But it was a fun trip for them. I hope your toe gets better soon.

    Love your content and love that you often mention that people seek out info on and abide by Leave No Trace ethics. Just a note that one of the ethics is to camp at least 200 feet from a lake or river. It stood out to me b/c I learned that back in my college days (good ol' 90s) while taking several wilderness survival courses, which educated us on low impact camping/backpacking. Perhaps you've mentioned this in future videos I've not yet watched. In any case, LOVE your channel and wishing you and your doggies the best.

I can't tell you the amount of times I've been in a state park, enjoying the peace and quiet of nature only to have someone, who just can't live a single weekend without nascar or football, put a tv on the outside of their RV and then proceed to turn up the volume, start drinking and scream and holler for the next 3-4 hours

    Re camping etiquette any campground we have stayed at, dispersed, state or private we have kept our dogs leashed at all times that way we know where they go to relieve them selves and pick their mess, also like you mentioned to protect the environment and wild life but then we put our fellow humans, wild life and the environment before our dogs.

    You're killin' me, Nikki. I used to live there in my early teens through my 20's. Breaks my heart not to be driving distance away, any more. It wasn't crowded very much the first few years. Now, it's loaded with real city people trying to escape the city, but bringing the city with them. Yikes. I miss it so much and not so much. Thanks for filming one of the most beautiful places in the world.

  • @TimfromAlabama
    @TimfromAlabama Год назад +1

    What you said about camping etiquette is one thing that use to fire my blood up where I camped. People coming in and making fires with rocks, and leaving them in places where you drive. Leaving trash like propane lantern tanks and full trash bags. I mean the people would totally trash the area. I usually set up my travel trailer, put out my stuff like fire pot to contain the fire, lanterns hung, camp stove, and then head off with a trash bag and clean the place up. Sometimes I would pack out 3 or 4 of those huge trash bags like I used for collecting pine cones (fire starters from nature) which were really leave bags like 30 gallon size. Outrageous. My blood was pumping and I'm sure my face was red and maybe a not so nice word or two. That is one of the reasons places to camp, like they were everywhere when I was a kid, are not allowed now because dumb people leave trash like they have a maid in the woods....which I guess I was but still. Anyway, I'm an avid teacher, and have been to young kids that they leave the place better than it was when they got there. And the better they leave it the better chance it will be available next time. Take care out there. Thanks for taking us along.

No there’s no plug to charge your phone, I don’t know the weather, if my campground is full … it’s full , sorry you showed up on a holiday.
    I feel like people create more trash when they camp…

    I very much support all your camping rules and camping etiquette! ...If that was, in fact, supposed to be washer fluid that you put in your vehicle during your "gas up" it really was diesel exhaust fluid. I spotted this because I was also confused when I first saw this since Peak also makes washer fluid. ...Lastly a thought about your driving up onto our levelling blocks - I would suggest first full brake, then moderate gas pedal and slowly reliease the brake to move the vehicle. It requres some foot coordination but should provide better small movement control. Thank you for your awesome content, Nikki!
