  • Look Around You is the perfect example of a UK comedy that parodies its targets perfectly. Some people didn't realise it was a parody when it first aired and thought they were watching repeats of 1970s & 80s schools and science programmes!
I am a big fan of anything Peter Serafinowicz & Robert Popper create and would love to know if you are too. Do you enjoy the more surreal side of comedy? Let me know.

Peter voiced Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Hes also married to extremely talented, funny and absolutely gorgeous Sarah Alexander

I got to watch a few episodes quite when it was on Adult Swim and yes it was like watching a program in school when I was 6! It's very hit or miss but it lead my way to Boosh and Garth Marenghi!

I have the dvds and love them, the heavily detailed in-jokes even continue onto the menu system, one of them has a ceefax teletext service feature, it’s like a disc to the past.

Look Around You is like watching Johnny Ball's programmes on drugs.

That so should have been the basic for series 3. The programme, not the on drugs. Mind you...

Hi Elaine, well, unfortunately I'm completely unfamiliar with this comedy series. Sounds really interesting though, I'll definitely have to look and see if I can at least find a few clips from the series to get an idea of it.😊 The names Serafinowicz and Popper are also rather unknown to me. After a short search, however, I realize that the two of them have also worked on more famous films than I thought.😯 But it's quite the same with the other cast: In principle, I only know two who only had guest appearances in single episodes: Simon John Pegg and Sarah Alexander - although I should also know David Williams and Nick Frost, but I allways have problems with names (a big weakness of mine in all areas of life), but I at least do know the faces (most of the time).🙄😉
    Cheers - Ralf🍀👋🏻

You heard Peter Serafinowicz plenty of times since he does a lot of voice work...and is also Darth Maul's voice.

@@jesseslack2089 Well, I live in Germany. Peter Serafinowicz will of course be mentioned in the credits, but these credits are often shortened on TV over here (and also in movie theaters). And, with a few exceptions, films and series are shown synchronized, so the names of the original speakers have practically no meaning for us. It's unfortunate, I have to admit, but that's the way it is here...

Hi Ralf! You always impress me with your willingness to see what’s out there from different territories & check it out 👍🏻 I love a bit of silly humour & the people you’ve named make it look far too easy in every role they play 😂 I forget how many films & shows they’ve been in, never mind knowing names (I agree it’s easier to spot a face!) 😊

@@PopMonkeyPodcast Thank you very much. Yes, why not, I really like British humor - maybe not in all forms, but still...😄😉 And I like a good sense of (silly) humor in general too. But please don't praise me in advance, I still haven't searched for clips or maybe even full episodes yet.🤭 There's a bit of chaos here at the moment because we've been waiting for weeks for our front door to be repaired (broken locking system, first attempt at repair failed due to lack of spare parts!). Today there was supposed to be an appointment agreed in writing by the company, which was suddenly postponed by a full month😱, but after a telephone complaint from us, it should be back at some point today... Well, let's wait and see...🤨🙄😉

@@PolLight3000 Consider it praise in general 😃 A full month to wait for the next appointment! I'm glad you pushed for today. Sadly its similar here. Fingers crossed you have a successful outcome today 🤞
