Made this little top hat pattern for a miniature snowman. Normally I make it all black, but in this video I'll be showing you how to make the Mad Hatter's top hat from Alice in Wonderland!

Pattern:
[Starting in Color A]
Ch 2 or use Magic Loop method
(01:58) Rnd 1: Work 6 scs in the 2nd ch from the hook or into the magic loop (6)
(02:32) Rnd 2: inc in each st (12)
(03:35) Rnd 3: Working in FLO, sc in each st (12)
(05:05) Rnd 4: Working in both loops and back loops from Rnd 3, sc in each st (12)
(07:47) Rnd 5 - 6: sc in each st (12)
[Change to Color B / Color A]
(09:56) Rnd 7: sc in each st (12)
[Change to all Color B]
(13:04) Rnd 8: sc in each st (12)
[Change to all Color A]
(14:31) Rnd 9: Working in FLO, [sc 1, inc] repeat 6 times (18)
Working in both loops, sc in first st from Rnd 9, sl.st in next st, cut yarn, pull through and hide the end.

He has a baseball cap, and is getting a beanie (with a pompom of course), a chef hat (club crochet tutorial), and a cowboy hat for Christmas, all crocheted. I’m also making him a witch hat for a Halloween video on my channel. He even has a bow tie... I guess he’s a stylish bunny! 😂
My class is hatching chickens and I made this hat for one of the chicks. I have never felt happier then seeing a little ball of fluff in a top hat.

Dude that sucks. I got teased too and it's a bummer, but we both know that crocheting is awesome. The people that tease others about something like this have problems of their own that they are sorting out, I know it's difficult but don't take it personally. They'll look back at that and be ashamed and you'll go on making amazingly awesome stuff with your new talent that they thought was too feminine. It's dumb, I went through it too, but I really can't stress enough how much you should not let teasing get to you. Happy hooking my dude.

@Petra Johnson I'm 14 now but was once In your same situation, just push through and it gets better. As someone on the other side I can tell you it will get better.

I’m making this for my pet mice! I’m going to add a loose string to the bottom so it can stay to their tiny heads but I think it will look really great!

Very cute! I used a smaller hook and yarn, so I added a few extra rows. It still turned out tiny, but I love the look of it! Thanks!

Used this for the Knot Too Shabby Crochet Bronto the Dinosaur pattern and it fit perfectly! Great pattern, took me about 20 mins.
Edit: I actually made the pattern a little bigger to fit the head of the Dino. Very easy to alter the pattern!
How did you alter the pattern? I'm trying to figure it out myself because I'm trying to crotchet it for one of my stuffed animals
@@pallavipati306 I crocheted a few more rows at the top to make it wider before dipping down. Then I made it longer by also adding a few more rows. After you add the rows, just continue the pattern as normal. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more clarifications.

@@pallavipati306 haha! Im sorry, could be just the thickness of your yarn or hook is off and the dips are less pronounced because of it.

Very cute thank you I needed a hat for a ghost made in plushy yarn so I used plushy yarn and a bigger hook and an added one extra row around the brim and it turned out so stinking cute thanks for the great idea❤

If you want to make the brim longer, should you do another round in just sc or continue the pattern of sc, inc, sc, inc?
You'll need the inc stitches to go longer, if you just did a round of sc it would go down instead of out.

If I wanted to make this a bit bigger would I simply do another round and go from 12 to 24? I feel like for my particular project this one would be too small.
On round five, is he doing a single chain through both loops? He just says do a single chain, but didn’t indicate what he was doing through.
I tried to double the size and increased to 24 total and my hat doesn’t quite curve abruptly. Looks more like a cowboy hat.

I am planning to make this and a few more hats for my classroom pet (he's a hedgehog and I love him), but I'm unsure on what types of yarn may be safe for him. This is my first time doing anything like this, does anyone have any ideas, clues, or tips?

I don't in this pattern. Usually I just crochet around in a spiral for amigurumi, but I'll be coming out with a video in a few weeks to talk about how to crochet perfect stripes by connecting with a slip stitch.

Either increase out to 18 stitches around prior to beginning the sc in each st rounds, or use a thicker weight yarn. Sorry for the late reply! Totally missed this :(
