Thank you so much! I love easy to follow tutorials. I really enjoyed that you explained what to do while also showing us. I tend to get frustrated easily and I had no trouble thanks to you! This is actually going to be a hat for my cat. My wife and I each brought two cats into our marriage and my boy fell in love with one of her girls. So this is going to be his fancy hat for his wedding. 😊😂 You've helped make this truly wonderful!
I used different yarn and hook size so I ended up doing more rounds just to make it taller but followed everything else, turned out so cute :) great tutorial, thank you
Thank you for the very concise and clear video! Also, I really appreciate that you had the round instruction stated at the top for each round! That was very helpful for me to transcribe the instructions for me to come back to. 😊
Ok, not sure what I did wrong Theresa, but my hat is HUGE! I used a 3.5mm hook and 3.75 for snowman. My counts match the pattern. LOL!! I wish I could attach a pic. It's too funny!
@@theresascrochetshop no, same yarn, its funny really! I have no idea what happened. I made a second one and used a 3.25 with tighter tension. Thanks for replying 🙂
Thank you for this tutorial! I'm new to crocheting, but I'm using a modified version of this to make the yellow hat from Dr. Seus's big fish for my BF's stuffed animal and he's very excited by how it's turning out!!
So if you want it to go up, you crochet on the top or closest piece, if you want it to go down you crochet through the furtest one! Thank you for this! ❤
Yet to try this im fairly new to crochet & suggest you use a different colour yarn for your tutorial as being black yarn I can not see what your doing. Also recommend you slow up for beginners
After row 16, we have a total of 35 stitches, then in row 17 how can we divide the 35 stitches in 2 to do (1sc,1inc),as at the end only one extra stitch is left?🤔
Hmm, good question! :) I've made this pattern with jumbo yarn and even at that it is too small for a child's head, so I think the pattern would have to be adjusted significantly to fit an adult's head. But that wouldn't be too hard to do! Just increase to a circle with a diameter that seems like it will fit your head and then follow the pattern for the design shape.
Hello! You can make this top hat smaller by not increasing to 30 sts as written in the pattern, but instead as many stitches as you like for the size you want before going on to crochet the rounds that will elongate the hat.
It's clear to me 😭,anyways. u need to chain 2 then in the first cahin you have made insert another 6 crochet, or u could do a magic ring and do 6 sc if u don't know how to do a magic ring just search for a tutorial it's really easy

Oh no, I'm so sorry about that! Could it have been a thicker yarn?

@@wendif6378 Oh my, that's so strange! Tension can cause a size difference too! I'm glad you were able to make one that fits. :)
@@theresascrochetshop I will be making many more of your amazing patterns!

I just had to come watch this after seeing it in the short. Great!!
Thank you so much - love your patterns.
Aww I'm so happy to hear it! Thank you!!
Thank you! Love the pattern
Thankyou for sharing. I'm surprised your hand doesn't cramp holding the hook like that?
You're welcome! I guess it's just what I'm used to! :)
Am I seeing it correctly, are you crocheting with yarn under your hook and not yarn over the hook?
Great tutorial!!
Hey, I have a question. Do you think it can fit my pet squirrel head
i was just wondering if i could make a top hat for my octopus i made last night. now that i know i can. he shall be so dapper
Aww yay! That's awesome! Glad this tutorial could help style your octopus!
would I be able to make this so my head can fit this?

A very cute top hat. I would love to knit. Can I sell knitted items?
Thank you so much! And yes!
@@theresascrochetshop Thank you💖
Idk why im doing wrong😢
For R16 i end up with an extra stitch at the end. Even tho i start off with 35 stiches to work into from R15
Actually, you are correct. There will be 1 extra sc stitch at the end of R16.
@@theresascrochetshop thank u!
Thank you so much! 😊
My pleasure! Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy making it 🎩
Hehe im going to make one for my mini squid

how can i make bigger like for me 😅
3 × 17 is not 52, I'm confused
❤❤❤
I made this for my cat
Awww! Yay, that's great! :)
Спасибо за мастер-класс!👍🤗
You are welcome! Thanks for the comment!
This is not a beginner video.
I’m not going to lie, 6 sc into the first ch makes no sense to me. Even played it in .25x speed.

Using this for a cat lol
I love it!
Horrible video explanation. Never use black yarn as the stitches are hard 2 see. Go slower. Be more thorough.
😂
