This guide is pretty decent for people that are new to this stuff, but there is a bit longer and more into detail tutorial how to do this properly. :)
I know sorbo but have you not looked at the cylinder damper mod, it's a lot better than sorbo as sorbo has a low reset time and this can result in variable cylinder volume, which can lead to larger fps deviation and lower accuracy. On airsoft sniper forums there is a tutorial under the longrange AEGs (it's stickied)
now that youve sorbo'd the crap out of your piston and cylinder head ....hows your AOE?
Removing the sharp edges and rounding them off decreases the stress concentration. However the material (I think aluminum) is poor for fatigue life. Repeated firing will end up causing it to break in the long run. This mod should lower the probability of a crack forming and extend its life. You should polish the surfaces up to 3000 grit to eliminate as much surface roughness. The rough surfaces can be enough to form a crack which will propagate.
Wonder if anyone has tried to shoot peen these gear boxes to improve the life.
I was looking at a G&G gearbox the other day with radius holes but I noticed something I didn't before. They also removed a part of the shell so the impact was more away from the corners first.
Draper 44466 Spare Tubular Diamond Grinding Point, and I use a dremel 300 i think, selection packs are good so are the quick detach grinding wheels.
Yes and no, i do not know your complete setup, also its easier if you give me fps with a certain weight of bb as 0.5j could apply to any weight. If your using standard ration gears gears with a non neo motor you could probably use a spring upto m120 but im not to sure as i have never done it.
Cant give you a link but its a: Draper 44466 Spare Tubular Diamond Grinding Point For 95W Multi Tool Kit APT51A.
Copied from a Dremel reseller. Alternatively you could use a round file.
Yeah I know, I was looking at the camera screen instead of what I was doing and could not see any come out so ended up with loads.
is this really effective? thanks for your answer.
+mace cside they do this from the factory on fancy brands
Unkle Fritz actually, very few “fancy” brands do it because they’re all made in the same 6 factories.
AWESOMEE
So much glue, but great channel.
Do you have a link to the dremel attachment you use in this video?
Anybody noticed slight drop of fps after radiusing a gearbox? Is that possible?
That's not possible because it's not affecting the air compression at all
B
+Dannyboy823 Yeah, thanks. Have figured that out in the meantime. I would be better off not posting such a stupid question. Just had a lot of problems and didn't know how to address them back then...
Actually it does for the simple reason that the seal of the cylinder is weakened and might cause little air leaks when firing.
is this also applicable to v3 gearboxes?
I'm a bit late, yes applicable but usually not necessary ,V3 gearboxes have more metal and are generally less prone to cracking
Hello, can you tell me what is the model of the grinding tools you use?looking to buy one.thx.
The brand of tool used in the video is dremal, the tool is a Die grinder.
Removing material will weaken the gearbox.
round (radius) instead of rough angles makes it quite stronger
a structuer is as strong as its weakest point. radiusing it indeed weaken some part but your weak point are stronger so the overall structure of the gearbox is stronger
at 0.55
did his gb just crack?
Na, he slipped with the tool and scored a line over the surface.
there is a sorbo fit for that type of cylinder head... you doing it wrong
Во дибилы.
in that case you probably have a so called crappy Walmart gun or a beginners gun do not attempt to upgrade
