Have you plugged it directly into the graphics card?

Yeah its possible, it essentially works as a second screen so I display pretty much anything on it

The USB cable also goes into the PC

Only a windows user comes up with the idea to use a screen made for Linux based devices to display a picture inside his case ... which is next to his feet. Meanwhile people are crying about crypto currency mining taking up too much power.
Nonetheless, I appreciate you testing it out without a pi attached to it. I'm gonna use it for headless server diagnostics.
No one who build his own PC with rbg has their PC next.tk their feet.
