I'm glad to see the rollback found its way home. I'd hate to see its picture on a milk carton.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Probably a dumb question, but, do they still do that?
I haven't seen a missing person picture on a milk carton in years.
At least since amber alerts on cell phones became a thing.
@@erikwilliam1254 They don't. And now I'm going to spend the day trying to remember the last time I saw one.
@@garthmiller6191 Well copy paste of Google says: By the late 1980s, the campaign began to fade out and was gone almost entirely by the invention of the AMBER Alert system in 1996. However, a few individual companies were still printing kids on milk cartons even in the late 1990s.
Course I was born in 91 which is why I vaguely remember them.
😂
Your best quality is your ability to explain things clearly and thoroughly, no matter the subject, as long as I have been following your channel.
Don't forget a couple of drops of air-tool oil every so often, especially with your "outdoor" stored tools, helps to prevent them seizing/freezing.
Love the comment about the air hammer - so simple of a solution that it escapes logic. Probably handy when dealing with certain driveshaft couplers as well (thinking some of the press in ones you've fought with multiple times). The tool boxes look like a nice work in progress. (P.S. - I see the Rollback is back home again!)
I agree. Though I commented the idea of using a cordless hammer drill.
The toolboxes is where the magic happens, Casey's the master of pulling off the impossible. There's always room for new tools 😉
And he seemingly knows where’s what ;-)
more room for trips to harbor Freight for mor tools, hell ya.
Good organization for efficiency 😊 People forget how fast you did a job, but they remember how well you did it👍😎
Casey, thank-you for the toolbox tour! I enjoyed your thinking process, organizing skills and creative RUclips channel. Your recovery world is FUN to watch and avoids the drama!
Organization sometimes gets overwhelming until it gets done,
Then your like....
I should have done that a month ago. ❤
I took your tool box idea and put it in my camping trailer. Cut the lid off an old 2 drawer box i had and put all the tools i need in it. It is a huge upgrade in organization.
While shop and toolbox videos are interesting, inspiring, thought-provoking, and sometimes puzzling, there is no right or wrong arrangement. It is all about how you use the space. What I particularly like about these videos is the specialized tools used in various industries and the organizational methods used. I'm going to miss your microwave. I had never seen that done before.
I'm glad to see that you finally put 90% of the recovery stuff you use to hook up beside the road on the non traffic side which will make it safer for you beside the road. Good Job Casey!
I like the new side boxes. Great replacements for the old boxes!
Good job organizing Casey!
Casey Logic strikes again! Nice job. Thanks for the tour.
I wouldn't doubt there's Towing Companies that require their drivers to watch your videos and then they quiz them afterwards 😂
Someone actually sent me a picture from a AAA training class where they’re using screenshots from my videos as examples of what not to do 😂
@@CaseyLaDelle do their instructors wear "I hate Casey LeDelle" t-shirts? 😄
@@CaseyLaDelle Too funny.
@@CaseyLaDellewas the screenshot illustrating how snatch donuts will melt synthetic lines? Or was it explaining how someone should never tighten the pin on a hard shackle all the way down? 🤣
You could build a shelf system to hold your EcoFlow and microwave in your sleeper. Put them up hioh where they still allow you to use your mattress.
Tool boxes is definitely where the magic happens. Having the truck set up so that you can safely access tools and supplies that are used constantly VS. items that are not whilst working in busy roadways is always a plus in my book. Great work Casey have a great weekend man.
Good job Casey! During your show, I was appreciating your approach of what you need to have and how you want it stored. It's organized for practicality, of course! It isn't by color or some strange mystical plan that some would really do! Thank you.
Awesome! 👍 Thank you for the tour, Casey!
A long time ago, I drove charter motor coach for a company that had slightly more than 100 coaches. If we had a breakdown or a wreck that required a tow back to one of our shops, the owner of the company insisted that the bus be loaded onto a lowboy and tarped from the nose to the tail so that the huge logo on the 45 foot long coach could not be seen. Having people see a broken down bus is simply bad for business.
Awesome setup. You always do it your way! Love the channel. Thank you for sharing 👌 😊
You have a great organization of all your tools and also everything that you use and also you helping people is a great part of all your videos so keep moving forward
I laughed when I saw your vid this morning when I sat down with my coffee because a few days ago I bought a roller tool cab off Facebook and have been spending my free time organizing all my tools. You're very well organized! Thanks for the tour!
Casey, when watching your videos and I see how many tools for your business you pull out is a great event for an old man who has lots of tools which I don't use much anymore, sure like your recoveries thanks
So Wise , Thank You for the tour . You Must do what works for You .
THIS GUY IS A 👼 ANGEL FOR HELPING PEOPLE ON BREAK DOWNS WHO DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY.
Coming from a "retired" wrecker operator, that is a very well thought out and extremely versatile setup. Before I ran heavy, I ran the smaller trucks, usually didn't tow very many away. Always tried to get them running. I had a rollback that had all toolboxes along the underside, and they got used Alot. It was basically a toolbox that could even haul plywood.😂😂😂
Most people don't realize how much a big wrecker weighs. I ran a jerr dan 25 ton with the fiberglass body on it. Just as heavy as the steel beds because of all the equipment we carry with us.
And now that I'm just a driver, I have a sleeper truck that I don't sleep in, it's all storage for tools, I don't quite fit in a kw 38 inch sleeper anyway. I run a lot of offroad deliveries, gotta have everything I need to get out of situations I come across on the daily.
So a trick I learned from an old trucker it that if you use the air brake antifreeze and spray a little bit on the drum of the brakes it will help brake them loose
We don’t play that game. They are either coming loose with immediate violence or I’m hooking on and dragging them somewhere out of the way so they can wait for it to warm up
@CaseyLaDelle Ya it helps you still have to beat them to get them to free up but you don't have to beat them as much and the old trucker told me that it also helps keep them from freezing up in the future
@@redneckrocket6517 So if something gets wrong, even unrelated, how do you get this out of the heads of the judge and jury?
You dismiss them and do what you think is best!😂😂@@tobiastho9639
You've got a lot of good, usable stuff there, Casey!!
Now get to using it!! 😎
I always used my shop as a store holding a backup of new equipment organized for use but really as a backup supply so I can reduce store runs or accept that I lose tools every time. Thanks for the tour.
Casey Outstanding outfitting your rigg
Thanx for sharing your Great work 💪
Have a Great Day 👍
I didn't really need to watch this being it shows how Casey rearanged his tools { as I don't care } but for the questionators out there wondering about it .. this video pretty much explains it to them.
Questionators, I hope this answered things for you!!
Casey WIZARDS DONT need toolboxes you can do anything you want with a MAGIC WAND LIKE YOURS
It looks like an awesome setup.
Nice job Casey! Thanks for the tour, what drawer do you keep yer doobies?!? 🤣🤣
Great job Casey. Thank you 😊
For the chocks on the fuel tank... Harbor Freight has 3 x12 rubber traction peel n stick pads. Everone now happy😊
Awesome setup. And you're an individual person and you don't have to be like anyone else.
I love your channel. Keep up the great work you do for others. We're all blessed to have you around doin what you're doin.
Looking forward to all your vids.
Great video Casey, tool lay out seams very workable.Take care and I will see you on the next one.🤩👍👍
New toolboxes look great. Nice to take everything out and re organize everything to the way it works best for you.
Casey I see nothing wrong with the way you have things set up, as you said you are not the same as other tow operators but I think you are awesome and very knowledgable I can't wait for the recovery with the tracked vehicle.
Good layout on the lift and the tractor.
I'm digging the Drawers on the Side-boxes. You don't need Volume if you're constantly digging stuff out from underneath other stuff. The open cabinet space under the drawers can be further organized with tubs for the ratchet straps or Packouts.
As a bit of an OCD organizer myself, I'm very impressed with your strategy on what to put where. Bummer you had to remove the microwave, but a cold sandwich tastes good when you're hungry!
Thanks for the tour and keep the videos coming.
I would love to see you try to use a variety of fuels to test the maximum thrust from cheaper fuels.
This video was such simple genius, and even if this isn't the final way to improve rockets, you're making such quick progress that there's no doubt you'll master it.
Hey Casey the first time you grab that fiberglass Shovel Handel after it has been bouncing around in where you have it chances are you are going to wish you protected it in some way, but if you don't you will probably remember this comment 😉 keep up the good work love the channel
It’s been in there for a year. If it starts to get chewed up, I’ll simply throw it away and buy another one
So either this is an older video, or the rollback has returned! 🤯
A place for everything and everything in it's place!! Do you have any idea when you will put fuel tank steps on? Great video !! Party On !!!
Never since I can’t find any. I’ve ordered them brand new multiple times only to wait months before getting told their on indefinite back order and having to fight to get my money back. Then I found a set at the junkyard, but turns out they don’t fit.
Thanks for letting us know that you have tried that solution. The only thing that I worry about with your current solution is the top of the tanks. I would think that they would get slippery when wet. Hopefully we never hear of anything to do with this.
The air hammer should be a standard piece of equipment on all trucks during winter! then they could free themselves!
You’re such a tool Casey. Lol. I mean that in a good way. Love the tool tour.
First off,i love all of your videos ! My question is are there any updates on the 1930 Dodge ??
I've "redone" my woodworking shop 6 times in 14 years. Pretty much the same tools, just came up with a "better" layout and storage solutions. My wife figures I will be back to the original layout in the next couple of years...hahaha. Great video, thanks for sharing.
That air hammer is a great idea I’m going to put one in each of my trucks for winter
Nice setup Casey!
You could rig up a shelf up in ur bunk to put ur microwave and fridge in
Pretty serious job of organizing & logistics and I bet Casey keeps it all in his head.
Ooh, a tool/gear setup video! 🍿
Thanks for reminding me of when I packed an air impact on my bosses truck, and he asked how I was going to power it.
The only thing I see that might be a problem in the future is the battery powered tools 8n hhe bottom, unheated box. You'll find the batteries don't last, if they even work.
@@darrinrebagliati5365 the batteries have never been in a heated box and it’s no issue
@@CaseyLaDelle I must have got bad ones then. One winter and my batteries are nw at 50% fully charged.
The type of battery affects how they hold a charge. Nickel metal hydrate I know don't like hot or cold. I couldn't get any to last night more than six months in my truck. Switched to lithium ion and still have some from 2008 or 10 that work fine. The ones that don't still work had a full charge and overheated triggered the fuse on a cell and killed the battery. I had a battery spend a winter under a chain and snow in the bed of my truck. I think that I still have it and use it. The type of battery and brand have a lot to do with longevity.
Rewatching this convinced me to get drawer dividers. Thanks Casey 👍
Thanks for the tour Casey. Your tools and equipment are set up for the type of work you do as it should be. I was looking at that headache rack and thinking it needed another shelf to put that stuff on so you could have your microwave back but not sure where the Delta would fit. I hope the new setup works well for you.
Retired HVAC tech. Should be traveling with my truck camper and enjoying life. BUT NO.....! I'm watching a video of Casey on how he organized his tools on the Zac Liftt. LOL 😆. Because I went through the same thing in my service van when I was working.
Oh yea Casey....I'm your next door neighbor in Idaho
Never a disappointment!!!!! Fabulous!!!
Great tour of the truck and equipment. If you can find the right size box , you have space for one on each side of the truck under your headache rack above the fuel tanks . Maybe can get one for the microwave…..lol
Zacklift should build you a brand new super jazzy unit, as much advertising for them as you have done. You gotta be about their most visible customer with them. Were you a boy scout? You sure are prepared!
There's a reason why he has the Zacklift branding on his unit. He made a deal with them to get that unit at a lower price (I assume) and it operates as a mobile billboard for them.
I'm more of an old-school dedicated wrecker kinda guy, but I can admit that Zacklift is a darn brute and a beaut. Given that Casey is also an equipment hauler, it makes sense for a removable unit so he's not drowning in equipment for a one man band.
@@MichaelArtelle ya Casey has said that's why he went detachable so he didn't have a dedicated truck sitting there for 1/2 the year doing nothing. In the previous video he said his little wrecker makes no money and runs a deficit with insurance costs since he uses it so little.
Yes, that seems to be good!
Things you still need, just my opinion, A ladder!, a winch on the Western Star so that you can load and unload inoperative/unpowered loads onto the lowbed trailer, tank steps, A place on the Western Star to hang extra chains and binders (just in case) for hauling lowbed stuff. I was thinking the headache rack might need a modification to add to the ends a place to hang extra chains/binders to keep them handy.
I like your changes to the mobile shop set up Casey, from watching your videos all the time, i pride myself on knowing where you are going to get a certain tool for your job, on a different note Casey you did a short on taking the haggland to a place where there were a lot of those rigs I'm hoping that your able to tell us about that place sometime thx 👍
Thanks for the INFO
This was very interesting. I would be interested in a video that covers topics like where and how you fuel up, the mpgs you get with each truck, how you deal with routine maintenance, the HP and TQ of each truck, etc.
Hey... new frame boxes!! Looks good.
good job!........... Good job organizing your tools.
Just a comment for your air hammer 🔨 It’s nice when sensible people talk to each other 👍🏻🤩🤔 Rather than just bitching and trying to undermine others
The layout looks great! Hope it works!!!
You sir have a fortune in tools and equipment on those truck! If I were broken down close to Bend OR, I would be extremely happy to see you! PS see car in thumbnail? It just did a 200+ mile road trip, with speeds up to 80mph. She has origional motor/ transmission. Just a few electrical dash issues! Maintence, maintence, maintence. Keep it up, they will last!😊
It's too late now but it would have been interesting to see how much all that stuff weighs. I really like those side boxes, way better than a big open box for what you do.
Great update toolbox video,
Great content to generate comments. Moving the tool box to the back will save you steps. Have you considered attaching magnets to the wheel blocks so you can stick them anywhere in the tool boxes? Also you won’t have to move the drive line bag first to get them. I probably pay way too much attention to your videos. Hope the reorganization will save you time, money and frustration.
VERY NICE! GOTTA DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.
What no kitchen sink ? I seen the paper towel rack. Can’t wait till it snows and see some snow recovery’s .
I can't begin to imagine how many dollars are invested in those bins.
Need to find spot for microwave in the truck and maybe duel battery setup 😅
The truck has four batteries
Maybe the height stick should be in the truck because you may need it when you're pulling the lowboy
I thought that same thing, but it’s too tall to fit in the headache rack, so the only option is to bungee cord it to the frame and I really don’t want to do that
@@CaseyLaDelle Will it fit in a 3" PVC pipe with cleanouts on each end U-bolted to the bottom of your headache rack?
I’m glad to see when a box opened, our favorite ‘tool’ wasn’t in there 😎
Looks like a good set up to me for what its worth it seems as though ya got stuff where its gonna be easier to get to
So you're not carrying the front jacks for the Zacklift, now?
No, there’s no need to when I never unhook it anywhere other than that parking spot
Interested to see if the air hammer works for you, from my experience with getting brakes broke loose and removing drums for service, it needs the sudden force of a sledge hammer, but definitely worth a shot
That was surprisingly interesting! I am a bit of a tool guy, so I enjoyed seeing all the tools and gear that you carry. This is leading to one small purchase for myself. I will get a set of those pushlock air fitting tools. That will come in handy on my motorhome, every once in a while. Too bad about losing the Ecoflow and microwave, but priorities!
great as always
So next is shelving in the sleeper. Personally I would have sacrificed a window in it and mount a shelf for the microwave there and jammed the ecoflow i somewhere in the cab. I would also put a net sling below the roof on the head end to jam in bedding and such.
Just a suggestion to mull over to get more storage for your ecoflow, and microwave back, there is a lot of space between te haedache box and tank that you could have boxes built for both or put the wiring supplies down at ground access... It does require the cost of the boxes, and you probably though of it already, but just what I saw. It is a never ending process, that I know too well from outfitting and organizing out small fleet of 15 fire apparatus at my towns fire dept.
nice job. throw the ecoflow and micro on the sleeper if you are on a long haul. a bit in the way, but there to use as needed.
That is well organized and thank God for Harbor Freight they have just about everything but I didn't see any fuses in the organizers lol 😅
You have one winch in freespool... Tow truck boxes evolve..about every 6 months to a year..
You will know if you are going to want the microwave and power source on any given day. That being said can you just throw it in the passenger side of the truck cab?!?! Or looking at the top passenger side shelf is just the plastic organizer trays I imagine that they can be put elsewhere for the occasional trip for the microwave. Looks great otherwise!🇺🇸🙏
I wish I had your level of expertise at organizing
Very nice
And yes there may be some changes when you do some jobs
But it looks good 👍
Tools! 😊
Thanks for the tour and explanations. Looks like a good, serviceable arrangement. Time will tell if further rearranging is needed. Not a complaint, just a suggestion ... where you store your wheel chocks on your fuel tank - have you thought of using contact cement to fix thin rubber mats to the tanks to cut down on the rubbing and rattling your current arrangement could experience. That way, you wouldn't need to move them.
I like the new loadout. Very well thought out, but you're right, you won't know until you use it. IMPORTANT question, however, did you remember to duplicate some of your tools over to the rollback?! You were annoyed with yourself a couple times now (and maybe a few more off camera) for not having the same tool selection in both trucks.
