Hi there, Yes these shaped pillar candles can be lit and burnt and melt. How each shaped candle burns depends on the wick you use. Lots of testing is needed to ensure that they burn not too quickly.

There are a few things that you can try. 1- Try to heat the mould and pour slowly into it. 2- Keep the temperature of the room consistent when pouring (not too hot or too cold). Don't put your candles in the fridge or freezer. 3- Make sure the mould itself is smooth and not bumped. 4- If you stir a lot while the wax is melting, you can trap air in form of bubbles. Not sure this will help but before you pour, you can try tapping the side of your pour jar with a wooden spatula or something and see if bubbles surface. If they do, keep tapping until they've stopped. Hopefully that'll help. Let me know if you are having any more issues :)

@@lkwittmayer the size of your wick depends on so many factors. The fragrance load, the wax type you are using how big your mould is, the brand of wick... even your climate! You have to do your own testing to find the wick that works best for you

Then you pull the hardened wax away from the mould before you begin to unmould. Pull the mould away as you unmould it. I will make a video and show you. It should be a hard wax like palm, parrafin, beeswax or something like that. You want to avoid using pure soy waxes because they are too soft and won't come out of the mould properly. You can make a combo of soy and parrafin or soy and beeswax but just make sure your hard wax is at least 20% or higher. ♡

@@ankan2751 try adding 20% beeswax and 80% kerasoy. I've found that even the soy waxes that are designed to be used in pillar candles are still too soft. If the ears keep breaking, add a higher % of beeswax. If you don't want to use beeswax you can use parrafin or palm wax.

Hi what kind of wax do you use for the candle
Hi there I am using crystal pillar palm wax in this video :)
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes Thanks
@@spirituallylovingme-11 you are welcome, let me know if you need any further questions answered 😀
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes Thankyou so much and where did you order your wax from
@@spirituallylovingme-11 well I am located in Australia so I ordered from Aussie candle supplies but you can do a google search for palm wax suppliers in your area and I am sure you can find something :)
Hello... Why does the candle that comes out of the mold has some white marks?? The color on the candle isn't undivided...
Hi there, are you talking about this candle that I made in this video? It was because of the wax that I was using. It is a crystal palm wax so to make the crystal patterns in the wax the wax cools in the pattern and appears like white specks.
If you are talking about a candle you made that has white one it, what type of wax did you use? Some waxes like soy, sometimes get something called frosting on them, which is white.
Hope this helps and feel free to reply to me and let me know what you need more clarity on.
Take care,
What size wick?
@@lkwittmayer the size of your wick depends on so many factors. The fragrance load, the wax type you are using how big your mould is, the brand of wick... even your climate! You have to do your own testing to find the wick that works best for you
Yeah when I make my wax melt with soy wax it breaks so easily
Just add a harder wax to your soy wax and this should take care of the problem. Try a 20% bees wax 80% soy wax blend the next time you make your melts - this should prevent them from breaking. Hope this helps, please let me know if I can help in any other way :)
Did you make your molds or buy them?
I bought them. I have tried making my own moulds in the past and they are a mess 🙃 I prefer just to buy them
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes do you minds sharing where you bought them they are amazing. I am just starting out and want to be able to do different stuff
@@benykaylopezcanales9073 there are a variety of different places you can buy silicone moulds from. Some vary on the thickness of the silicone but in my experience there hasn't been a problem buying moulds from different places. You can look on different platforms for moulds such as etsy, ebay, Amazon or even Facebook marketplace to get used ones. If you want specific links to ones let me know but just buy a few, it's so easy to collect them - speaking from experience I have way too many 😂😅
You used only palm wax ?
for this partiture candle in this video - yes I only used palm wax. Crystalizing pillar palm wax to be precise. :)
@@Candle_Making_With_Jes don’t know if that is available here!
@@kdhillion sometimes you need to work with what is available to you. You can any pillar style wax to make this style of candles. You just have to do testing to get your wicks to burn correctly! If you need help, please let me know and I will be happy to help. :)
Thank you for the advice
How to avoid the petals from breaking while unmolding .. and damaging the overall look of the candle
First you use wax that is hard enough that this does not happen - don't use soy wax, even if it is pillar soy wax, it is too soft and will melt in the summer heat and ALWAYS breaks. Then you pull the hardened wax away from the mould before you begin to unmould. Pull the mould away as you unmould it. I will make a video and show you. I will come back and give you the link after I have made it.
Watch this video here for a more in depth explanation on how to unmould pillar candles made with silicone moulds - let me know if you have any more questions after you watch it ruclips.net/video/dVisGd1ldKQ/видео.html Take care :)
What’s the best wax to use for a silicone mold?
It should be a hard wax like palm, parrafin, beeswax or something like that. You want to avoid using pure soy waxes because they are too soft and won't come out of the mould properly. You can make a combo of soy and parrafin or soy and beeswax but just make sure your hard wax is at least 20% or higher. ♡
I’ve been using 100% soy and keep wondering why it’s such a difficult process!
Sorry I just saw this comment now, yes 100% soy wax is a no go with silicone moulds. I even find that the "pillar soy blends" are still too soft for moulds - especially in the summer time! Let me know if you need any other help with your candles. :)
How about cocosoy wax?
@@Dhara20.14 it has a very low melt temperature, even more so than soy wax. This makes it not suitable at all for silicone mould pillar candles

Hi. I have French bulldog mold and I really tried different waxes but I am always breaking the ears. Please advise me what wax should I use ? What type of wax is the best for difficult molds ? Thank you
Hi Anka, let me know what kind of wax you use. Try adding something to harden your wax, like a 20% or more beeswax. I use palm wax for my pillar mould candles. Have you tried cutting a split in your mould? I am working on a new video right now about unmoulding silicone moulds and will have some tips in that video. It should be ready next week sometime.
Hi thank you for getting back to me. Yes I cut the mold and still breaking the ears, sometimes even paws - just in the beginning. I am extra super careful. The wax I am using is Kerasoy pillar blend 4120 100% natural soy. Please if you can help would be amazing thank you
@@ankan2751 try adding 20% beeswax and 80% kerasoy. I've found that even the soy waxes that are designed to be used in pillar candles are still too soft. If the ears keep breaking, add a higher % of beeswax. If you don't want to use beeswax you can use parrafin or palm wax.
I will try, thank you very much for your advise 🥰
@@ankan2751 you are very welcome! Let me know how it goes okay!? 😄
Am I the only one who heard the washer signing lol
Haha 😅 opps
I try not to film when things are happening in the house 🤣 forgot this time
Why don't you use a needle instead of scissors?
You could use a needle if you have one. I just use my sharp scissors because they are handy for my to grab and use. If you want to use a needle, go for it :)
