    You know... I like how movies have mystery, and their sudden reveal is always so fun to watch. But you, Colette... you are too sharp. I brace myself to be disappointed that there will not be any magical reveals. However, the disappointment is easily washed away with how well you dissect clues and predict the future. You are stunning, smart, and all around very interesting package that you share with us all. Well done. Thank you for the watch, as always.

    I love the character of Dr.mann(Matt Damon) Because he represents "mankind"😮 You notice how all the other characters before going into space Talk about how Doctor Mann is this great leader, Great scientist, great man And when the crew "rescues" him all he does is think about himself Does horrible things to get away with it And even tries to justify it because he was "tested"😮 Human beings have the ability to be great or to be cowards And that is what Dr.mann Represents😮

    • @Karadjanov

      Yes. Mann definitely represent the very worst of humanity. Thankfully few people are truly as horrible as him. As a nitpick I always like to point out that the simplest of psych evaluations would have excluded him from this mission but then we would not have this amazing story :D

    My favorite thing in Nolan’s writing is the subtlety. He can have a grand story but make it feel very real. This movie takes place in the future and it doesn’t have to beat you over the head with it. He makes movies that just get better with rewatched. So good

    It is worth noting that INTERSTELLAR was the first Matthew McConaughey movie to come out AFTER he won the Best Actor Oscar. McConaughey won for DALLAS BUYERS CLUB (2013), where he plays an AIDS patient (both he and Jared Leto won Oscars for that movie, with Leto winning Best Supporting Actor). Worth watching for sure.

    This is quite possibly the most beautiful Sci-fi film ever made: if it doesn't hit you hard in the feels, you're not human! - but as great as this film is across the board, it's made a 1000 times more epic by the amazing score by Hans Zimmer, the music's a character in it's own right & among his finest work!
    Apologies if you've already seen them, but if not then I'd recommend 'Sunshine' (2007) and 'Arrival' (2016) - both great Sci-fi gems! 😊❤

    Ofc I had heard the music before but man I did not expect the story to be equally as good, if not better. I did not expect this from a movie I randomly decided to watch to pass time like that in a plane on a whim, that could have been any other.
    And the funniest part is, the very next movie I watched references Interstellar. It was one of them Thor movies

It was indeed the better choice because the data was more promising and indicating habitable for life but Cooper twisted it around saying it was because of her emotions while in fact he was the one giving in to emotions wanting to visits the closest planet just so that he could get back home as soon as possible.

    The gravity problem was figuring out how to get the space stations built on Earth off the planet to Saturn. That would enable humans to eventually go to the new planet. Murph figured it out with the data from her dad and TARS so Plan A is a go.

    • @SeedFactoryProject
      @SeedFactoryProject 4 минуты назад

      I worked on the Space Station project, and it is actually a solved problem, though we haven't taken one to Saturn yet. The Space Station was launched in smaller pieces that were assembled with the help of a large robot arm and astronauts in spacesuits. A current project is to build a smaller one in orbit around the Moon using the same method.
      Electric propulsion is slow but very fuel-efficient. It is already in common use to move around satellites, and will be used on the lunar station to maintain orbit. Put a big enough solar panel on it and it could get as far as Mars.
      At some point it becomes more efficient to use local materials from the Moon and asteroids rather than hauling everything from Earth. We have been turning mineral ores into useful products for thousands of years on Earth. So we know how to do it. There simply hasn't been enough reason to set up mining and fabrication in space yet, though experiments on the Moon and Mars are already testing how.
      My user name comes from my work on "seed factories". That's a starter set of tools and machines that you use to make more tools and machines from local sources. That way you don't have to send a whole factory to, say Mars. You send the starter set and plans for the rest to bootstrap up to a full factory.

She is doing exactly what Murph is doing, placing who own feelings ahead of mankind. I liked the movie, but it is very "cerebral" and I think difficult for many to understand. 2001 a Space Odyssey was the same. One of the greatest Sc--Fi movies ever made but many didn't understand it.
