We celebrated all cultures then, and enjoyed the freedom to ask "stupid questions" as we ALL learned from each other.

I was born in the 70s, and I grew up the exact same way. We celebrated every culture. There was no "because you're black" or "because you're white." This race nonsense needs to stop . We are all one race, the human race.

The experience of a Black person can't be guessed and not all Blacks are aware of certain types of racism. Systemic racism is easy to spot, it's personal racism that is the problem. Who am I to say what she experienced or hasn't, especially if I experience the same along with millions of Blacks for the last 400 yrs + have all felt and had to fight against it white supremacy and their racist system. This is completely un-related but I have decided to put this out into the world. It's amazing how her and her management team treated her performer's against everything she stands for, while in private she has been sexually harassing and weight-shaming her back up dancers. It's so ironic how Lizzo stands for body positivity but she weight shamed her back up dancers in private and not only that she sexually harassed them? I will not say what she did because it is beyond disgusting. Shame on you AND your management team. I didn't realise you could be this horrible. Get a grip.
This is "just a thought" and not to be taken as an excuse for anything that actually happened. But it may be possible, for someone, traditionally relegated to the periphery of any grimy cronyism based industry, that engaging in such behavior may have been, in whole or in part, what some would call "the price of admission or continued star treatment" sort of situation. It's rather well known but understated that these things are not exactly rare events. Take #mariahcarey for example. Anyway, there also is a philosophy out there, that to push someone mentally, by way of personal degradation, (military does this in basic training) where a person's individuality is seen as a hindrance to crisp performance "within a unit" and they may have taken such an approach.

The dancers need to proof in court that this was pervasive, and constant--NOT that they simply had some "bad" experiences.
I respect that some in her crew felt victimized/pressured.
This is truly a dicey situation given our current culture.
I wish ALL those involved in this unfortunate incident, a swift closure.

I just rewatched this performance from Lizzo on my PVR and it always speaks to me. Love her ❤️ Being a Black woman 👩🏽 seen as pretty for a plus sized curvy woman with an invisible illness my disability chronic pain, I’ve always felt that I’m either seen as over sexualized by men or not seen at all. It gets depressing at times but I know I’m here for a purpose and hearing Lizzo’s music and seeing her proud and confident it’s so inspiring.
