You see the ads and the before-and-after photos claiming that pills and oils can make your beard thicker and fuller. But are they real?
Unfortunately, no. Claiming that it can grow hairs where there are none requires a lot of scientific testing and FDA approval, and these companies certainly haven't jumped through these hoops - they're just snake oils. Companies like these are simply preying on insecurities, so educate yourself and don't let organizations like these suck you in.

Fellow men: please do your homework before using minoxidil. My brother tried it for a while because his he was experiencing male pattern baldness, much like I am. He began experiencing heart palpitations. He used it according to the recommendations. This is on the rarer side, but know the risks. Just watching out for my guys out there.

Why don’t you guys try a more natural oil such as castor oil ? My boyfriend tried many other oils but he found castor oil works best. This article explains how: sowourplanet.com/castor-oil-beard-growth/
Castor seed is very rich in omega-6 and omega-9 (ricinoleic) fatty acids. So applying castor oil in combination with a diet rich in plant oils (nuts and seeds) will yield the best results. :)

What I have read, in the Metro newspaper here in Scotland, about 2 years ago, is that there is/was a clinic, maybe 2, in Glasgow that could help a guy fill in patchy beards, NOT grow one from scratch. What they do, however, is another story. They want/wanted between £5-6000 to help though!

I can attest to the fact he threw out there about having to wait for your beard, you do need a lot of patience. When I could first start growing hairs on my face I actually shaved it regularly for a few years due to me being a wrestler and beards are not allowed until college. Even when I started letting it grow though it didn't come in completely full and thick, it started as a thin beard covering pretty much just my jawline, like it is in my profile pic if you can see it. I had to be patient with it before it started climbing up my cheeks and it now grows above the corners of my mouth if I don't trim it. I've been lucky enough that I only have one small patch that won't grow hair now but since I've grown out my mustache the corner of it actually covers the hairless patch. For some that are not so fortunate it is best (at least from what I've seen and heard) that you just style your beard to accommodate those patches rather than trying all different kinds of products to make your face grow hair there. Work with your beard and not against it.

I use natural oils like jojoba and argan. They keep my face and hair from drying and it’s healthy for the follicles. A healthy face leads to healthier facial hair.

Hey Eric love the vids! Gotta question though...first time growing out my beard and I'm noticing the hair on the right side of my face is so much thicker(fuller) than the left. Should I get it trimmed to even it up or just continue to keep growing it out? it's at about 1-2 inches now
I do have full beard on right cheek but patchy on left... This make me look little stupid, using minoxidil now days and awaiting some positive result...

What about things like the Castor oil/rosemary blend? It's not necessarily supposed to create new hairs, but it is supposed to cause the hairs to grow faster. Have you ever tried this? If so, has it worked?
I'd think you'd get more bang for your buck by taking biotin, exercising & eating healthy than taking a growth oil.
So I didn’t get an answer on other ways to grow your beard…
So would the vitamins help if we don't have a healthy diet. Like i mean give it the vitamins it doesnt normally get.
I have some pill accelerator stuff from the beard club it has vitamins that your supposedly missing for your beard but I'm about to see if this stuff works it apparently takes 3 months

I completely agree. No magic pills or oils change genetics. I’m lucky that my beard grows well but it has some flaws but the only thing that helps is time! I use beard oils and washes and products yes but I know they aren’t growing it thicker and faster just healthier and easier to maintain when it’s long plus no dry skin and flakes and beard itch. I know what oils are essential for healthy beards and the brands I use have those and they don’t advertise as a growing thicker and fuller beard just advertised they are for your beard
So True. And the only thing a product "could do" is add Volume by forcing extra moister into the hair or lifting the hair like a mose.

Check out oral castor oil. If you can tolerate it. many people have issues with it and there digestion for obvious reasons. However many can tolerate it np 1-5 grams can help significantly with hair growth fr it actually makes a huge difference and no one talks about it.

When growing my beard (month of growth) I have a few hairs that grow super long super fast. Should I trim these hairs to make the scraggly phase less scraggly?
You certainly can - beard hair, and head hair, don't tend to grow at the same speed, so shaping them up and trimming can help even things out!

I knew it! They don't work at all, you can't just grow out hair were there isn't supposed to be hair. I've been telling my friends this but since they can grow full beards, they think that its the oil/pills that did it.
My dad has been able to grow a beard since he was 19. I’m about to turn 19 in about 2 months and I can grow a mustache, chin hair, and a little bit of a beard. My diet isn’t necessarily the best, do you think this will help?
