Oh it’ll be fine, do something like this if you ever get the chance! Maybe you’d like it, if not, most of these basic things aren’t that imitating after a person does it, so if it’s ever a necessity you’d know how!

Timmy, I built a house 1/2 that size in 1987. I get overwhelmed just wondering how I did it all, mostly by myself, sometimes one friend or my Dad giving me a hand. I I was 27 then and super tough and strong, now almost 64, tuckered out, lol. Glad you’re doing it now, you’ll have a long time before you can’t climb the stairs. It would literally cost me 10-15 times as much today as then. I had mine paid for in about 7 years, busting my butt. I have continued to add some, remodeled some, etc, but there’s probably few things as satisfying as building your own home then owning it one day. I’m jacked up with fibromyalgia and back trouble now, so I’d be in hot water if I hadn’t but the bullet at a young age, looking good!

Timmy.. Countertops in kitchen are 36-37 from finished floor.. Bottom of upper wall cabinets are usually 54 to the bottom. So roughly 18 inches between them. Outlets are centered on that.. So 36+9 to center of rough-in box. Plus the 1-3/4 to the top of the boxes. 47 to top of box from finished floor is a good number..

Take a look into the canless LED lights, that's all we install anymore, less costly than the old cans by the time you do trim and bulbs. Simple to install, just map where your wires are, we snap lines and drill the holes after drywall is up but before mudding, taping, and texture. Although you'll snap your fingers a few times with the damn spring levers that hold them in. Lol The better ones have multi selectable lumen levels, some even have a night light ring that is activated by a quick on/off flick of the switch. Those are real nice especially when you have frequent guests, we had a client go with them in various areas because he's frequently hosting folks on religious missions.

Amazon smart LED lights would be perfect, like $300, you could do the whole spot and use color schemes.. Walk in, say turn on lights for X X or whatever, and can do up to 100 dif colors.. I use soft orange during night and a bright light in day. If im watchin movies, i use purple in ceiling

Love this content as well. Running electric has always been fun for me for some odd reason.

For the stair case lights and room lights or a hall way light you could use a " Wechselschaltung " thats a 2 way switch so you can always switch on and off where ever you are...Unfortunately i don't know the US term for it ..but the shematic will pop up in Wikipedia

Loving the house content can’t wait to see what you do next. Type of flooring how much insulation you will need it would be nice if you could spray foam the inside of the house but that stuff is real expensive.

If you use home automation tricks, you can turn on one light, kitchen, and it will in turn fire up a bunch of under cabinets, over cabs, dining room, etc all without any special wiring and what not.

Timmy, we really enjoy the channel and your house is going to be awesome. I do have one suggestion. The switches for the entrance and garage lights should be WiFi switches. That will let you turn in your lights when you come home. I hate walking into a dark house or garage. The Kasa switches from Amazon work well and the app is ready to use. They are just normal switches otherwise.

Your porch outlet has to be GFI also. Usually people put outside outlets where bathrooms are because they use GFI in bathroom for power out. Required to have outside outlets front and back of house

My kitchen outlets are only 4.5" from the top of my counter to the bottom of the outlet. Building codes must be different. I do love to watch these types of videos. My biggest problem is I start thinking I can do it. Planning and patience are not my strong-suit.

If you are doing wall mounted TV's there are some nice boxes for mounting and hiding cables in the wall too.
