    It's a treat seeing you use power tools for the grunt work and the hammer work moving metal the old way, and great results.

    Excellent work,in every way-observing and interpreting the older work,and the forge-practice itself!
    Great welding too,in particular that middle skew-weld,just wonderful.
    The resulting tool is obviously fantastic,clear proof that the technique was interpreted correctly,thanks for documenting the process-a Most excellent and valuable video.

    P.S.
    Separate thanks for showing those specialised set-tools for forging the inside of the inner curve,once again,a most competent historic recreation of one of the most important(even iconic) pattern.

    A nice piece of work. I am wondering if you sell them, and where you are located.

    Could I ask, how many hours of work did it take you to make the axe head?

    What kind of power hammer is that. I have a friend in northern Minnesota in th USA that has a similar hammer.

      I am not sure what this hammer is called. there is no markings on it and it has many hand forged parts so i believe it probably was made in a local machine shop about a hundred years ago or so (judging from the fact that there is no welds or castings, all riveted steel plate construction). It had many parts missing so me and a friend built a new clutch and belt system aswell as the anvil and lower die

    Smide du utgangsbiten til kroppen eller kuttet du den ut?

    • @BlacksmithsHeritage
      @BlacksmithsHeritage  9 месяцев назад

      nei jeg kutta ut startemnet fra plate, maskinhammeren klarer ikke å smi på så høye emner
