- This week brings and extra special 2022 Quilt project! I was invited by Sheri McGill of Lessons Learnt to participate in this collaboration with 2 other quilters. We used the "Not Your Mama's Garden" fabrics by the Sew Yeah Brothers and the Patio Quilt pattern by Happy Zombie, and the twist was each of us selected a different sashing color. Stephanie of Stephanie's Stitches and Jamie from the Quilting Compound also joined in on the fun!

I've only seen your 2022 and 2023 videos so far, but this is by far my favorite of all the quilts I've seen you finish! I love the way the gray brings the wild pattern and colors together and calms them down. Such a lovely, almost peaceful quilt!
Your cat cracked me up! SOOO helpful with the trimming... ha
I’m a lot like you about shying away from big bold florals and prints. I was amazed that all your prints looked so lovely together in this quilt. The gray was the trick! Nice job.
I’ve looked at the other quilts and I enjoy your choice of sashing the most. It allows me to appreciate the colors and prints without the distraction of clashing borders. And the addition of the plush backing ensures it will be well loved and well used. Thanks for sharing.

Trixie is hilarious! I cut my quilts out on the floor too but I find it easier to lay cutting mats down and use a ruler and a rotary cutter.
Your version was by far the best sash color.

I came across Sew Yeah early in the pandemic. Then found out they are in Vegas like me which was awesome. They are awesome just love them

While these prints don’t usually “float and my boat” they did blend very well in this quilt. I think the gray sashing was the perfect choice/color setting for those splashes/blocks of color. Well done!
these prints were totally not my vibe either, which added to the challenge!

Emily, very lovely quilt. I'm with you on the Kaffe and Tula fabrics. I cannot imagine cutting them up for a quilt, so I just don't try. Shows we are all different and that's OK. This was a good idea and hopefully you will have some new watchers. Thank you,

Wonderful fabric, and I like the dark background. I didn't know about it at first, but it is really nice. Trixie is such a great quilt tester.

I have been following Stephanie and now am looking at everyone else’s quilts with this same fabric. Love yours with this dark background. My cats think all quilts are made for them as well 😂

WoW that sashing really did tone that down. At first I wasn’t really liking it Like You I’m not really into florals but when you put that dark sashing it turned into a WoW

The grey makes the quilt. The others were just to loud.
