You guys are great. Awesome breakdown. #GT4life!
Appreciate that man!! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
Great video guys !!! This is going to be a cool ride !
Great video as always! 👍😁 the end credits!😆
😂 What can I say, we have a lot of fun when we get together!! ! 🤙🏼
Aluminum foil works best with a little bit of water even takes away rust for a new looking rim ... remember it's the best way
Thanks for that tip! I’m going to try that out! Thanks for watching!! 🤙🏼
Another great video. I considered those on my 26” GT, but I wasn’t feeling them at the time. But I can see how you would want them on the Fiola build to stay as close as possible to the OG. I think you made a good choice. Can’t wait to see how the mags look on the build. This is a fun build to follow along with 👊
It’ll be interesting to see how it all comes together and how they look on the bike. I’m crossing my fingers!! Thanks for the comment and for watching another one!! 🤙🏼
Cool picture on the wall
Awesome
Thanks man!! Appreciate you watching! 🤙🏼
can't wait to see that frame back from powder coat
So am I! I hope it wonʻt take too long! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
@@cruisinginthe808 Dec 2023, ran into a guy riding this exact 26" performer. (Said he purchased from city grounds. Did some searching and came across your channel. Definitely looking forward to building my own. 🤙🏼
Go for it man! Building your own bike is always fun because you can do whatever you want. Keep us posted on it once you get started! 🤙🏻
I’m real interested in seeing how these wheels workout… Also C the bike man blocked me 😂 whateva Stay rad my friends
Us too! So far, just at looking at them, they look pretty good. Weʻll see how they do on the bike once we get that started. Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Thank you for sharing the wheels with us. I am going to purchase the black set. As you are doing to your wow I am doing the same thing but not sure of the color yet. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
You’re welcome! Not sure how they’ll be on the bike but I’m hopeful!! Thanks for the comment and for watching!!🤙🏼
Magnesium is difficult to machine because it tends to either combust or explode. The pitting may be from atmospheric contamination during the casting process, which may be a fact of life when dealing with a magnesium alloy.. Alloys tend to not rust because the purpose of allowing is to bond the atom's free electrons with a non-corrosive element, so it won't be able to bond with oxygen. I would leave it and let the rough surface make for better braking.
Yoo tengo una Bicicleta GT California Aniquelada Antigua Y negra bien bonita ❤❤😂🎉😂😂🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂😅😅😅
You guys are great you can even make inbox in a set of wheels pretty entertaining if I’m not mistaken those are forged aluminum which means they heated up the aluminum to a liquid form and cropped it into a mold
You are probably right! They look pretty good for the price!! Thanks for sharing that and for watching!!🤙🏼
really fine grade sandpaper and sand them WET, that should help make them less pitted and may help with braking performance too.
Thanks for that suggestion! I’m gonna try that out! Appreciate you sharing that and for watching! 🤙🏼
Where did you get the lay back post at
It might look cool to put some short, anodized hex bolts into the caliper threaded holes plus, living in Hawaii it would prevent pitting and oxidization inside the holes from the sea water in the air, if you do any parts swapping in the future.
Nice! Try some polish for aluminum car wheels and a microfiber cloth.
I tried a small dab of cleaner polish and it didn’t really do much. I’m hoping I can cut down on the pitting a little. Appreciate the tip and thanks for watching! 🤙🏼
Aluminum foil works best on rims takes rust and all the way it'll take the pitch right away and make the rim brand new
I remember the profile 20” billet wheels were over a thousand dollars.
magnesium is cast, and that is why you see imperfections on the rim lip. You can't weld it because once it's on fire, you have to watch it burn. Take a hand sanding block on the lip with some 800 grit an then 1000 grit. Make sure to tape off the paint so you don't get into it. Then polish it. V.W. beetles had magnesium blocks. Old hot rodders used it where they could reduce weight because weight reduction equals free horse power.
Appreciate those comments and tips! I am gonna try what you suggested! And thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
@cruisinginthe808 No problem, brother. I'm always trying to pass on some knowledge. We can't take it with us, an honesty it should be a goal for all of us.
Thatʻs what itʻs all about man, sharing info and helping each other out! Thanks again! 🤙🏻
Sand them . I have 3 sets I had to sand them all . Improved braking as well .
Thanks for sharing that! Good to know that it worked for you. Iʻm gonna try that this weekend! Thanks also for watching! 🤙🏻
Spin it, let’s see the balance
Try using foil. Solid and cheap
Thanks for that tip! Iʻm definitely gonna try this out! I like solid and cheap! Appreciate you watching and sharing that with us! 🤙🏻
Yes the race comes with the headset.
That’s what I thought. Thanks for confirming that! Appreciate the info and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Coming together!
Slowly but surely man! Shipping is either crazy expensive, crazy long delivery time, or both! Appreciate you watching another one! 🤙🏼
I’m here 🙋🏽♂️
Do these wheels come true?
0000 or 000 steel wool will work well on braking surfaces,Kev.
Thanks for that tip! Appreciate you! 🤙🏻
Once magnesium catches fire, it can’t be put out.
How about the weight ??
They aren’t too bad, 3.5 lbs for the front and 3.7 for the rear. Thanks for the comment and for watching!! 🤙🏼
Aluminum foil
Looks like steering wheels for a yaht
😂 I can see that! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
More vids. Switch some parts around. just need more vids
😂 Appreciate that man! Weʻre trying! Thanks for tuning in when we drop one! 🤙🏻
Go with a 41 15
Thanks for sharing that as I was wondering what kind of gearing to go with. I haven’t really used 15 tooth freewheels before. I usually go with my tried and true 16. Appreciate you sharing that and for watching!!🤙🏼
Never liked R4 until now
I wasn’t sure how they’d look and took a chance but I gotta say these might just do the trick! Thanks for the comment and for watching another one! 🤙🏼
I enjoy your videos but there way to long.
Sorry man, we just enjoy talking and hanging out. Some really like the longer videos but some may not. It’s all good, appreciate you watching anyway! 🤙🏼
