Stephen Stills was on the right, Graham Nash in the middle and David Crosby on the left. I saw them in concert years ago...3 men and 3 guitars...pure heaven!

Right on sister..CSN had some of the most pretty vocals I've ever heard to this day, and I'm 63! Anything you hear from them is beautiful music. Stills sings the kead, Nash sings the high tenor backup, while Crosby takes the mid-range Live they were studio-perfect as well.

For more of their stellar vocals and music try these songs.
    SUITE JUDY BLUE EYES,
    WOODEN SHIPS,
    TEACH YOUR CHILDREN,
    and of course, WOODSTOCK.
WOODSTOCK is a song originally written and sung by Joni Mitchell. But Crosby, Nash, and Neil Young took it to its most popular place on the charts. Do yourself a favor and react to both aides of this musical coin. You'll be richer for it. Keep going and enjoy

A fantastic reaction 🌌! Southern Cross was the second single released from Crosby, Stills & Nash's 1982 album: Daylight Again. It was written by Stephen Stills, Rick Curtis and Michael Curtis. It was produced by Crosby, Stills & Nash. The song reached #6 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #18 on the Hot 100. As of 2024, the song was the group's final music chart hit in the Billboard Top 40. No information on the music video is available. The "Southern Cross" is a star constellation also known as the "Crux Constellation" that can be viewed from most of the Southern Hemisphere. The four brightest stars within the constellation form a cross pattern. Sailors have relied on the Southern Cross to help in navigating their boats on the ocean.
Because David Crosby did not reunite with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash until their 1982 album: Daylight Again, was well underway, his vocals are not featured on the album version of the song, although he did appear in the music video and subsequently sang the song with the group in live performances.
The song was written by Stephen Stills with help from Richard Curtis and Michael Curtis. In the 1991 CSN boxed set, Stephen Stills explained: "The Curtis Brothers brought a wonderful song called 'Seven League Boots', but it drifted around too much. I rewrote a new set of words and added a different chorus, a story about a long boat trip I took after my divorce. It's about using the power of the universe to heal your wounds. Once again, I was given somebody's gem and cut and polished it".
Since the song is based on a song called "Seven League Boots", it bears mentioning that seven-league boots are a common magical artifact which crops up repeatedly in many European Folk and Fairy Tales. They're a pair of boots which allow the wearer to take strides that are seven leagues (21 miles) long. The same concept of footwear that greatly increases one's traveling speed or stride is adapted into many role-playing and video games.
The music video for the song, with a ship a-sail, got Crosby, Stills & Nash on MTV, providing a Soft Rock respite from the European Pop musical acts that dominated the MTV network at the time. They never became music video stars but found a welcoming home on the adult-oriented VH1 when that network launched in 1985.
In 2006, the song was featured in the TV series 📺: My Name Is Earl (S2/E8 "Made A Lady Think I Was God").

    Lyrics 🗒:
Got out of town on a boat goin' to Southern Islands
Sailing a reach before a followin' sea
She was makin' for the trades on the outside
And the downhill run to Papeete
Off the wind on this heading lie the Marquesas
We got eighty feet of the waterline nicely making way
In a noisy bar in Avalon I tried to call you
But on a midnight watch I realized why twice you ran away
    Think about
Think about how many times I have fallen
Spirits are using me, larger voices callin'
What Heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten
Around the world (I have been around the world)
Lookin' (lookin' for that woman girl)
Who knows she knows (who knows love can endure)
    And you know it will
When you see the Southern Cross for the first time
You understand now why you came this way
'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from is so small
But it's as big as the promise, the promise of a comin' day
So I'm sailing for tomorrow my dreams are a-dyin'
And my love is an anchor tied to you (tied with a silver chain)
I have my ship and all her flags are a-flyin'
She is all that I have left and music is her name
    Think about
Think about how many times I have fallen
Spirits are using me, larger voices callin'
What Heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten
I have been around the world (I have been around the world)
Lookin' (lookin' for that woman girl)
    (Who knows love can endure)
    And you know it will
    And you know it will
So we cheated and we lied and we tested
And we never failed to fail it was the easiest thing to do
    You will survive being bested
Somebody fine will come along make me forget about loving you
    And the southern cross
Crosby, Stills & Nash Info 📰:
Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) was a Folk-Rock supergroup made up of the singer-songwriters David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. When joined by singer-songwriter Neil Young, they were called Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY). They are noted for their intricate vocal harmonies and lasting influence on American music and culture, their political activism and their tumultuous relationships. CSNY's music reflected the tastes and viewpoints of the counterculture in the late 1960s and early 1970s. With protest against the Vietnam War gearing up in 1970, the group made no secret of their political leanings.
The discography of supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young consists of eight studio albums, five live albums, six compilation albums, four video albums, and 19 singles. Of the band's eight studio albums, three have also included Neil Young; and of the group's numerous tours, the quartet configuration has made concert tours in 1969, 1970, 1974, 2000, 2002 and 2006. The trio configuration (CSN) has sold around 13 million albums, while the quartet (CSNY) has sold around 20 million. Combined sales of the group including solo, duo, trio and quartet versions is over 70 million. The group's second album: Déjà Vu (1970 CSNY), remains the group's most successful album, selling over eight million copies.
CSN formed in 1968 shortly after David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash performed together informally, discovering they harmonized well. David Crosby had been asked to leave his band: The Byrds, in late 1967, Stephen Stills' band: Buffalo Springfield, had broken up in early 1968, and Graham Nash left his band: The Hollies, in December 1968. They signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in early 1969. Their first album: Crosby, Stills & Nash (1969), produced the Top 40 Pop chart hits: "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and "Marrakesh Express". In preparation for touring, the trio added Neil Young, Stephen Stills' former Buffalo Springfield bandmate, as a full group member, along with the touring members Dallas Taylor (drums) and Greg Reeves (bass). As Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, they played the Woodstock festival that August.
The band's first album with Neil Young: Déjà Vu (1970), reached number one on several international album charts in 1970. It remains their best-selling album, selling more than eight million copies and producing the hit singles: "Woodstock", "Teach Your Children", and "Our House". The group's second tour, which produced the live double album: 4 Way Street (1971), was fraught with arguments between Neil Young and Dallas Taylor, which resulted in Dallas Taylor being replaced by John Barbata, and tensions with Stephen Stills. At the end of the tour they disbanded. The group reunited several times over the years, sometimes including Neil Young.
Crosby, Stills & Nash were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and all three members were also inducted for their work in other groups: David Crosby for The Byrds, Stephen Stills for Buffalo Springfield and Graham Nash for The Hollies. Neil Young was also inducted as a solo artist and as a member of Buffalo Springfield but not as a member of CSN. In 1999, CSN released their final studio album: Looking Forward, and they remained a performing act until 2015.
Since the pandemic, Stephen Stills returned to guest with Brandi Carlile at a tribute concert honoring Joni Mitchell, his first public performance since a benefit in December 2018.
In February 2023, Stephen Stills announced his co-headlining appearance with Neil Young at a Light Up the Blues event, due to take place in April.
In 2024, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills and Neil Young still perform live on stage solo w/ a backing band, with other artists and sometimes together.

      Miscellaneous Notes 🗃:
CSNY performed at the 1969 Woodstock music festival and were included in the 1970 film: Woodstock, a documentary of the 1969 Woodstock music festival.
As a group, they recorded one hit song in response to political events although they recorded other political songs as solo artists and in various combinations. The song: "Ohio", was written in response to the deaths of four students at Kent State University. The students were shot by Ohio National Guardsmen during an anti-war protest on the campus in May 1970.
Neil Young was part owner of Lionel, LLC, a company that makes toy trains and model railroad accessories. He was instrumental in the design of the Lionel Legacy control system for model trains, and remains on the board of directors of Lionel. He has been named as co-inventor on seven US patents related to model trains.
On June 21, 1978, Crosby, Stills & Nash received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for their contributions to the music industry.
David Crosby has appeared on some TV shows including: Roseanne and The John Larroquette Show. He also appeared as a pirate in the 1991 film: Hook, as a 1970s hippie in the 1991 film: Backdraft, and as a bartender in the 1992 film: Thunderheart. As well as, he voiced himself on two episodes of The Simpsons: "Marge In Chains" and "Homer's Barbershop Quartet".
David Crosby, in partnership with longtime friend and entrepreneur Steven Sponder, developed a craft cannabis brand called "MIGHTY CROZ".
Neil Young was awarded the Order of Manitoba in 2006, and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2009.
Neil Young was included on Rolling Stone's 2010 list of the 100 greatest musical artists at #34.
In 2023, Rolling Stone named Young #30 on their list of 250 greatest guitarists of all time.
      Group Members Who Passed 🙏:
      1. David Crosby (August 14, 1941 - January 18, 2023)
David Crosby was the recipient of a highly publicized liver transplant, paid for by Phil Collins, in 1994. News of his transplant led to public discussions because of his celebrity status and his previous problems with alcoholism and drug use. David Crosby's liver problems stemmed from a long run with Hepatitis C.
David Crosby also suffered from type 2 Diabetes. During an October 2008 concert, David Crosby, looking much thinner than in previous years, announced to the audience that he had recently shed 55 pounds as a result of his struggles with the disease.
In February 2014, at the urging of his doctor, David Crosby postponed the final dates of his solo tour to undergo a cardiac catheterization and angiogram, based on the results of a routine cardiac stress test.
David Crosby passed away in Santa Ynez, California, on January 18, 2023, at the age of 81. On January 23, Stephen Stills’s ex-wife Véronique Sanson appeared on French television and stated that he had passed away in his sleep from complications related to COVID-19. "He was on his fifth day, went to take a nap, and never woke up again". His body was cremated and the ashes were given to his family.

Mmm.. Crosby's on our far left, Stills on the near right, Nash is in the middle. Just to burst your bubble, Crosby doesn't actually sing on this recording. The band was still negotiating its reunion, and Crosby had not signed on the dotted line when this was recorded. Art Garfunkel, he of Simon & Garfunkel, sang the middle harmony on the recording.
