I used to be so scared of hell, though I didn’t want to admit this to myself at the time because I was so scared of risking going to hell and also wanting to convince myself I was Godly I never liked the idea of anyone burning in hell forever and especially not the idea of the majority of people burning in hell forever, not for believing the wrong things about the Universe or for living the wrong way. Even this idea that we all deserved it because we were sinners never made me happy and also didn’t make sense to me if God knew exactly what we were gonna be like and still chose to create us, maybe God should get the blame and not us. But now I have learned that there are many other ways of interpreting the Bible and I no longer believe in hell, that we’re sinners or that God gets angry or favours some over others for any reason at all. I now strongly like to believe in a God of unconditionally love, a God who loves us all no matter what and sees the best in all of us and a God who doesn’t care if we believe in him or not, what we believe about him, if we love him, hate him or are indifferent towards him or what we do with our life as long as we’re not hurting each other and even when we hurt each other understands where we’re coming from, sees the good in us and still loves us no differently and wants us to be good to each other because we care about each other the same way he cares about all of us not because we fear him or fear hell. Also I strongly like to believe in original goodness and that everyone is good and even all evil is done with a good intention ❤️

Where do you think the state of fear comes from? I experienced this obsession too

I do like that you are taking on the subject of scrupulosity. I would at times wonder if it was what I suffer from but unfortunately after a quick viewing of this video I have been displaying classic symptoms. I know that I shouldn't but I purposely avoided the scripture reading part as I didn't want to freak out even more but I did catch a little of one of them and started ruminating like crazy. My brain has been working overtime recalling moments when I may have done something unpardonable. Although I didn't catch the entire verse out of fear I do recall times when people have posted memes saying things like " if you love Jesus and are not ashamed repost this" and I didn't partly because I not found of doing that but in part because of fear of what friends would say...or so I think. So through my lens of fear I'm having a bad night thinking I've done something irreversible 😩

This and Calvinism lead me out of religion. The uncertainty was truly painful in thought and body. Thanks for the presentation. Even though I walked away from religion, OCD has kept the high tides of doubt running strong. Thanks again because this has always been a problem for me.

@@Jim_ron I figured. I just think Christians should know that there is more to this than accepting Jesus. always has. I know that's not orthodox, but it's still very true. At some point Christian witness turned into catchy sayings and 3 point witnessing. I understand where you come from, but just don't like common responses like that. My last church gave common responses and catchy sermons. Never helped me learn anything or accept any christian cardinal teachings. In the end, the catchy verses aren't nearly as catchy in context with the rest of Scripture. It becomes confusion. It's why most christians never finish the bible.
