      I absolutely appreciate you asking and understanding the history. You can absolutely wear waist beads. The problem comes in when people take our culture and introduce it as something new that they created. I think we should all take the time to understand each others culture. We are all so interesting. ❤️❤️❤️

      Heey
      It is very considerate of you to ask. My take on this as a mixed person..kinda between two worlds... I have light skin, afro hair, whenever in braids, people look at me with contempt, which from their point of view is justified. I do my best to be respectful, I actually cherish all cultures regardless of my connection to them, still this can happen, probably will happen.
      So all I'm saying is as long as you act properly, don't give a damn and do what makes you truly happy. Who judges based on a waist bead isn't that big of a loss anyways.

    Thank you this is a very helpful video a few questions
    Does needle size matter ?
    I’m considering doing this for a business. All the person would need is to send me their measurements in order for me to know how long to make the waist bead correct ? Lol I know that may sound like a simple question but I wanna be sure.
    Why did you buy the junior and not the standard size bead bowl does that matter ?
    Any advice on where to get different beads ? I know there are a lot of different store options. I just wanted to know your preference.

    • @Justjannnn
      @Justjannnn  4 месяца назад

      Yes the needle size matters because the 8/0 beads are very small with a tiny hole lol & yes just ask them their exact measurements of where they would want it to lay. & for the bead bowl it wouldn’t really matter the size you use. There are a lot of bead websites, beadkraft.com is really good

    question: is the purpose of the silver clasp you started with to make the beads removable?
    + if so, if the intention is to create a permanent strand this tutorial isn't the right one, right?
    moreover, if we want a specific pattern and not just random beads, do we need any of the tools used in the tutorial (curved needle, bead spinner, etc.)?

    • @Justjannnn
      @Justjannnn  Год назад +1

      Yes the clasp is to make it removable, but you can do all the same steps without the clasps and just knotting it on yourself if you want it permanent.
      Also if you were doing a pattern it would be easier sliding the beads on manually while using a needle to make it easier

    How do you create specific sizes for customers?

    • @Justjannnn
      @Justjannnn  2 года назад +1

      Depending on the size they choose, so I have them choose their sizes in inches.

    Is the thread stretchy? Or is it regular sewing thread

    • @Justjannnn
      @Justjannnn  Год назад

      It’s not a stretchy thread, it’s a really thick thread but recommended to double it.

    The strands I get from Ghana have several threads used in them. I have the spinner and the curved needles... they're probably stringing by hand but I can't figure it out. I love your video so I can make my own ❤
