Pouakai Crossing - Mt. Taranaki (20k Hike), North Island, New Zealand

Two days hiking on the Pouakai Crossing. Our first day had us circling the flanks of the great Mount Taranaki. The weather was poor for the second half of the day, with intense showers and splashes of sun, however the scenery was some of the best I have experienced. Day 2 saw us ascend to the Pouakai range, visit the beautiful Pouakai tarns and then return on quite a tedious 6k of boardwalk back to the car park.
