Damn good lesson, I been working on this one for a little while and you confirmed I had it right on the rythym. Now I got the fills as well. I watched the same concert to get a little info as well. You do a great job my friend. Much respect from Jacksonville Florida🤘🤘
Hey Ryan. Man this has been the coolest thing in the world to me. You nail it. I grew up with these guys in my background in Chattanooga Tn during the 70;s. Thank you for breaking these down I have learned so must also as a guy finally wanting to learn how to play and know these licks etc. Also got to Tour with the Surviving members on the 91 Tour. I worked for the opening band Driv n n' Cryin. man is there a way to get the pointers on some other LS songs? For instance Gimmie Three Steps is one. Good Stuff, Thanks for doing this.
Thank you for showing me how to play the ending correctly. I know it's only a few notes but all the tabs I have looked at get the ending wrong. Your solo sounds exactly like it does in the original recording. Btw, you have beautiful Firebird with an amazing tone.
That intro is really really tough! I'm 90% there with it but like to get this stuff close to 100% before making a video. I need to practice more! Steve Gaines was so fast and clean.
@@RyanWilliamsMusic LOL! Yeah... Seems like no matter how much I practice I just can't keep up with Steve. Btw, thanks for the video. I have to play this at a gig on Sunday and I'd be dead in the water without it. Yudaman. :)
I was going to and then came across Scott Raines' video. He's the guitarist in Artimus Pyle's band and had the chance to sit with Ed and get a direct lesson on MCA. Check out his video: ruclips.net/video/6uIbx3BsIrI/видео.html Scroll in about 5:00
right at the get go from 0:10 to 0:13 you slide down on top e string but when you play back slow you didn't include the slide can you show that part to please it was fast thank you
Watch at :34. That's exactly what I'm playing at :10. I can see now in the video that it looks like I'm playing something on the lower strings but that's just the camera angle and where my middle finger is moving out of the way. I'm only playing the D and G strings on that part.
@@RyanWilliamsMusic I hope I made the right choice. I just spent a couple hundred bucks on a e609 and e835. I had traditionally been a Shure man but the Sennheisers just sounded better and weren't any more expensive.
Yes Gary always plays his Les Paul. If you listen to the guitar in the right speaker from the original recording, you can tell it's a Strat. Also if you watch the Asbury Park show from 1977, Steve Gaines is playing a Strat on the song. My video here is showing that guitar part.
That intro Riff is SO badass and you nailed it perfectly
That's right on the money !!!
Keep them coming!! Your tone, your playing, your feel! It’s spot on man! Call me the Breeze if I can make a request!
Excellent on the money, especially Allen’s solo!
You have the best lessons on RUclips sir. I’m a huge Skynyrd fan and these lessons are keeping me playing the songs I love.
Great lesson Ryan! I used to have that Hiwatt amp with a matching cab- always regretted selling it...

I’m so glad you’re posting agian!! I learned most of my Skynyrd songs from you!!
Great to see you back my man, great lesson hope to see more.
Dude, You made this so much easier. You vid's are great, keep them coming !!!!!
Hey Ryan, thanks a ton for pointing out the rhythm intricacies and bass line - super helpful!
Another beauty..thanks man

I remember that opening band!

Hella good tone!
Thanks from Bergamo, Italy 😎🎸

Thanks & Cheers 🍻 from the Pacific Northwest!
Nice job
Great lesson

Yes keep them coming!
Could you maybe do "I know a little"? Thanks!

dude... has anyone told you that from the shoulders down, the way you hold your ax and everything reminds me of Steve Morse.
Ha funny. Well I am from Atlanta and he was living there when I grew up. My right hand doesn't move nearly as fast as his does!

Awesome! Can you please do the working for MCA solos??

Man dude... is that a e609 you're using to mic your cabinet?
e906. Sounds much rounder than the 609. Great mic.

AINT GARY PLAYING A GIBSON?
