Another design inspiration is history. Vivienne Westwood often referenced historical dress. John Galiano’s love of slinky bias cut gowns was inspired by Vionet’s designs from the 1920s. Even the former Creative Director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott, reinterpreted the silhouettes of 18 century French Court gowns for one of his collections.
