Oh really? Maybe you could soon do a review on the new ones haha! I am in Newfoundland, Canada and in my area stores only stock the mini mags, mini mag hp, stingers, quiets and quiet shp but I've seen a bit more of a selection on Cabelas even tho cabelas still don't have close to all that you shown so it's really cool to see!
I know it's a lot to ask for but it would be really cool to see you gather all available rounds again and test a few rounds of each on a target to really see the difference between each😁
As a new 22LR pistol owner, this video was extremely helpful! Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this video! And reading the comments added a lot of new information for me!
Greetings from the UK, i hope you and yours are all ok. I just stumbled on your video and i'm sure glad i did. What a refreshing change from the usual shouty yeeaaahh that we sometimes get from the other side of the pond on youtube. You've really nailed it with your clear and informative info on all these .22 rounds. A very in depth review for sure. I've subscribed and i'll be looking out for more of your videos. Keep up the good work mate. All the very best.
Brilliant, thank you for that great video, your opinion on the Velocitors is right on the money, very accurate, hard hitter, I hope CCI treat you right, that is a super tutorial, thanks again from Ireland!
The velocitor is the best hypersonic 22lr. (Rifle amd pistol) Much deeper penetration than the stinger (weight, sectional density) and stingers fall on their face after like 70ish yards.
First GREAT JOB COLLECTING ALL THE CCI LINE UP , I WATCHED SOME SEASONED 22lr shooters talking about some rifle's favor certain type rds more than others , they measured everything and found rim thickness was.... though very slight was the factor , we're talking thousands of an inch of deviation , it has to do with the space from the bolt face while seated in the chamber,. Very interesting .
Thanks, but I had a falling out with the brand after I got some bad ammo from them and their customer service called me a liar. If you want to know more/see what happened, start with my TX22 review video.
Nice fairly comprehensive review of. 22 rimfire Ammunition, it will be interesting to compare velocity from Rifle and pistol or Revolver length barrels, when I got my first rifle in 1966, you had a choice of short, long, and long Rifle, they have come a long way in 55 years and I still enjoy the .22 caliber rimfire Ammunition, I've Subscribed to your channel and look forward to the testing you mentioned, thanks. 🇺🇸
Appreciate the subscription. It took me a while but I did start doing some gel tests this year with some of this ammo, comparing to Aguila. I'll have a lot more tests comming up with cci any many others, including the differences when fired from a pistol and rifle. Currently I'm in the middle of testing some .380, 9mm, and .45 rounds.
So glad I just found this video!! I've been debating on which CCI .22lr ammo to get for my Ruger. I knew I wanted the Stingers and the segmented hollow points, but my local gun shop only had the Quiet-22s so I gave them a try. Seriously hooked on CCI now. Thanks for the video!
The quiets in the video won't cycle a semi auto but they are fun. But now they have "semi-auto" quiets that will. I posted a video of those a few months ago with my own Ruger.
Yes, the Semi-Auto Quiets run great out of my Ruger 10/22's. Before CCI introduced those, I would run the Volquartsen Fire Fly Bolt in my 10/22's to help cycle the regular Quiet .22 reliably. Great video, by the way!@@BuckeyeBallistics
Great video im new to the 22lr world..just picked up a Ruger lcp 2 22lr ive seen alot of videos with it being picky with different 22 ammo ..what ammo would you recommend??
For plinking/target shooting? Anything 36-40gr that is 1200fps or faster. I have been having really good luck with the cheap Armscor .22lr ammo. Aguila runs pretty good for me too. CCI is good but expensive...
I have found that the AR tactical is a very good accurate bullet. They cycle flawlessly in all of my semi automatic guns. Just my .028 cents (adjusted for inflation)
The Stinger and Veloster are the two all around best rounds to keep and use if I get only picked two rounds to shoot out of my 1022 for all three p's paper people or prey
CB longs are defiantly quieter than CB Shorts, at least out of my savage 17" bolt action. I did the comparison so i could shoot in my back yard quietly. The Short was noticeably louder, to the point it was not acceptable for back yard linking without disturbing the neighbors. The Longs are quieter than my break barrel 1200fps springier air rifle .. for obvious reasons, with the exception of a flyer or the impact on steel.
@Guns&Cars Have you ever heard of CCI .22LR "Training" ammo. Saw some yesterday. It might be out of production. I can't find out anything about it. It says "Training" on the label.
I'm just wondering if "training" is just the designated purpose for the ammo, like how on the Mini Mags the hollow points say "varmint" and the round nose says "target"- because that is what they are intended for. But yeah, regardless, without seeing it I couldn't tell you if it's older stuff or new. Let me know...
99.9% of people watching these types of videos wish they could go back in time, when high quality ammo was stacked all over the shelves and cost between 4-12 even for high caliber ammo.
The cci quiet has arround 60.7 joules and my airgun has 110 but most airguns have between 10----> 20 joules if it is a sprig one, between 20----> 40 joules if it is a nitropiston and between 40----> 70 if it is a pcp. (Mine is a nitropiston one) Edit: sorry if my english is bad but I'm from Argentina 😀
Cool stuff! I always wondered what the green tag ammo was about. I keep a healthy supply of the high velocity and quiets. I do have some of the 1640fps segmented hp's that I haven't shot yet and I just ordered their new polymer coated bullets.
I have seen pictures of those online, both the red white and blue pack, and the red and green Christmas pack. However, I cannot find either listed on their website; so I don't know if they still produce them?
What would the damage be if i should fire high velocity ammo in a Browning match 150 handgun? I have only been using standard velocity up to now but could use a bit more horsepower for pest control
Nice gun. Shouldn't experience any "damage", but higher power rounds will cycle the action faster and harder and can wear out the moving parts and parts in contact faster. I have shot everything you could imagine through a well worn Ruger MK1, early 80's model, and it ran like a champ. I wouldn't at all hesitate to run something like the Mini Mags, or anything 36-40 grains that is under 1300fps. I wouldn't do the hyper velocity stuff over 1300 like Velocitors and Stingers if longevity is your goal. Matter of fact, don't use Stingers at all in older guns, as the case is longer and many older guns won't support the case properly. If you want more punch for pests, you can ahieve that without high velocity ammo though. Just use the segmented bullets; they hit extremely hard, like a super hollow point. They make the subsonics in segmented, if it will cycle your action. Also, last year they started making the Mini Mags in segmented if I remember correctly. Hollow points don't expand very well from pistols, sometimes not at all, due to the lower velocity. So a segmented bullet helps astronomically with pistols. It's an older video, but in my .22 playlist on the channel, I have a video comparing a bunch of rounds through both the MK1 and my 10/22, seeing how much damage they do against water filled pop cans, which is a great indicator of how much the hollow points expand. I would suggest watching the long one. I did mini short cuts of the pistol and rifle seperately, only showing myself shooting the cans. In the full length video, I shoot both the pistol and rifle, and do a direct comparison, and compare all the cans. It may help you find other options that will work well out of your pistol. Hopefully this year I can start making videos testing all these CCI rounds and all the others I have as well.
What info do you seek and which ones are you talking about? OEM is not a word I've ever seen associated with ammo. Subsonic, standrad velocity, or high velocity- which ones are you talking about? Are they in this video or no?
I have a semi auto 22 cal MP40 - I went to a local gun store and all they had to sell was ammo that didn't cycle for my weapon - Can you recommend 22 LR ammo that has a reputation for good cycling?
I'm surprised * but there's one type of CCI you didn't have or display, and that's the 22 lr segmented hp. With a vel. Of 1640 fps and 32gr copper coated, their a must to have!!!
Pretty sure that was in the video, you sure you didn't skip through the video? I just did a video a few months ago where I tested (now) all 4 of their segmented rounds in ballistics gel.
Great video! That's almost exactly what I was looking for. What would you recommend best for small pigs at a hundred yards? I have stingers but Maybe you would recommend something else.
@@BuckeyeBallistics Can I make a fan request? I'd love to see if any segmented 22LR ammo actually expand when fired from a snub nose revolver. Think you could make that happen? A comparison of how the differented segmented ammo work when fired from CCW size weapons?
I don't have a snub nose, but I did test a bunch of the segmenting rounds more than once including from pistols. Again, please see the .22/rimfire playlist on the channel for quick access to those videos. If I ever aquire a .22 snub nose, I'll do as you ask- I think it would be a good test. I will say however, I think they'd still fragment because I even tested the cci "quiet segmenting" which are advertised at only 710fps, and they still segmented...
Mini mags were my go to rounds of the past 20 years. Sadly I've sworn off of CCI after I experienced faulty ammo from them, followed by horrible customer service from them and even being called a liar. The issue occured in my TX22 review video, and then I followed up with 2 update videos about the situation afterward discussing all details with their customer service.
Gotta love velocitor’s I like it better than the stinger because in my test the stinger’s penetrate less and fragment too much, love CCI man, best .22 ammo I’ve shot.
Yeah the stingers are meant for more shallow, explosive shots on gophers and such. I have an upcoming test with all the hyper velocity 40 grain hollow points, see if Velocitor still reigns king. Couldn't agree more, CCI is the shit. Expensive sometimes, but you get your moneys worth. Also it's nice to just slip one of those 100 packs in your pocket and go hunting, no loose bullets or ripped boxes. I'll tell you since you're my boy, I got a lot of this stuff from Cheaper Than Dirt, great selection right now. Some of it I already had. As always, thanks for watchin, and thanks for remembering the like button this time!
Well you should try the junk they export. The club i belong to buy 125,000 at a time. We shoot competition at 25 metres. Those who shoot competition will know nothing puts you off more than a malfunction, we shoot both precision and rapid, a total oh 70 rounds. I shoot a High Standard others Pardini $2,500 worth of competition pistol. Most will have at least two malfunctions. We don't have to much say in the ammo. we get, it's bought in by a wholesaler Who has a contract with CCI. I believe the crap that comes to us is swept off the floor as rejects. All the crap stuff has no primer material, yes, we pull the projectile out. Not good customer service CCI, your product is crap. Wh
Well in America, CCI is about the most reliable stuff there is, and as such, usually costs twice of what the other brands do. CCI here is far better than Winchester, Federal, or Remington for example. I've shot over 100,000 rounds of CCI and can't recall even one malfuntion ever that was the ammo's fault. It's pretty good stuff here. So yes, I would assume then by your description, that they must export batches of it that doesn't meet their standards to whoever wants to buy it up. They can't help it if your supplier re-sells their rejects to the public, I suppose, if that is the case. Great stuff here in the US.
@@BuckeyeBallistics Fair enough, what I'm saying is in our view CCI is shit ammo. who's fault is that? Homeland gets the good stuff, fuck the rest. CCI attitude or US attitude, that's why we don't take your cars, they're crap, except the Mustang and they are falling apart on the side of the road. IMO not good trade practice. No way to look for help when the shit hits the fan, and that's not far away. Happy plinking.
Have you tried the quiet semi auto yet? Edit: I’m pretty sure they weren’t out at the time you made this video. I was just wondering have you tried them since.
Quiet semi auto? Are you saying they now produce "quiets" that will cycle a semi auto? Because no, I have not heard of that. Man if they make something like that I'll have to get my hands on some asap and try them from my 10/22.
Idk about shipping laws for your state, but these are the sites I shop at besides targetsports as you mentioned: Luckygunner, Cheaperthandirt, Sportsmansguide, Ammunitiondepot, Midwayusa, Palmettostatearmory. Maybe one of them will have it. I just bought mine locally...
Carry and Conceal. Unlike most others I do not have a caliber insecurity problem. The Moro Curse, Terminator Syndrome, Caliber Insecurity, or making up for a Lack Of Something Else getting shot is getting shot.
It's hard to get a .22 hollow point to expand from a pistol because of the lower velocities a pistol produces. Most "high velocity" rounds that are in the 12-1300 fps range, only manage in the 900 fps range from a 3" barrel, less in something smaller like those little micro revolvers. Velocitors and Stingers from a 3" are both in the 1100 fps range. The stinger is faster in a rifle than a Velocitor, but not really any faster when fired from a pistol. Btw, all this velocity info is from www.ballisticsbytheinch.com. With that being said, even with the lower velocities of .22 pistols, if the hollow point doesn't work then you will have over penetration. Even with the lower pistol velocities, most round nose ammo and hollow points that didn't expand will likely over penetrate, sometimes up to 20" or more in ballistics gel. That means you shoot the bad guy, probably multiple times, and all those rounds go right through them and then hit whatever or whoever is behind them. If you are going to use a .22 pistol for self defense, which I am not against whatsoever, I would try to find and use a round that will still expand at pistol velocities. Now the stinger isn't a bad choice: While it didn't expand in tnoutdoors gel video from a pistol, 2 of the 3 rounds fired penetrated less than 15" because of the lightweight 32 grain bullet and also because they tumbled. The 3rd exited the 16" block and kept going. If you want hollow point expansion from a .22 pistol, then you will want something like a trunicated hollow point that has a real deep hollow cavity, like Remington yellow jackets, or perhaps one of the segmenting bullets from CCI, although you will have under penetration with the segmenting rounds per FBI standards, as those segments penetrate no more than 6" even when fired from a rifle. I plan to adress this with my own video and test multiple hollow point rounds from a .22 pistol to see which will actually expand. Now I did do a video a while back shooting a tun of .22 ammo through both a rifle and pistol at water filled pop cans to see which perfomed the best from each platform, and if I recall correctly, the Velocitor was the winner in both pistol and rifle. From those results, that would indicate that the velocitor did expand from a pistol, but bullets hitting water is not the same as bullets hitting flesh. The stinger did pretty well too in my test. But again, that's water; they didn't expand in the gel test I watched...
Yes all CCI is good I am just saying that when it comes to reliability and feeding Stingers do seem to work the best. As a matter of fact I have found that a good 22 pistol like the Ruger SR22, the Browning 1911 22, M&P 22 Compact, Beretta Bobcat, and several others to work just as good or even better then some center fire like the 25 or 32 acp. So long as it is a good quality pistol, kept clean, broken in, and generously oiled, and loaded with Stingers should work as good as any other pistol. Yes Stinger may not be the best for penetration but for feeding and reliability it is the best! I will check out that link you sent thank you bro.
Oh hell yeah, I would definately carry a .22 over a .25 or .32. I used to have a little .25 and those things are a joke. I shot a 1" stick with it and the bullet just barely stuck in it; you could see and touch the bullet, like 1/4 inch penetration. A .22lr pistol would blast right through it. Now a .25 can still kill someone, but the .22lr is definately more powerful. The .32 has a little more, but I'd still go .22. I used to have a Walther P22 and Mini Mags, Velocitors, and Stingers all fed and fired 100% reliably through it.
Your rough rider can shoot any ammo in this video, but I guess if I had to pick one I'd say the Mini Mags. I have a few videos on the rough riders, including shooting them 100 yards accurately. Check them out in the .22/rimfire playlist on the channel 👍
@@BuckeyeBallistics dude loved that review very detailed ... I just got a case of velocitor shipped for $99 from cci website not bad during today’s time . I only buy CCI now I’m a .22 snob
That used to be me, shooting CCI almost exclusively (if you couldn't tell), until I got a squib load from them and they called me a liar until I made them watch the video. I haven't bought CCI since, switched to Aguila. CCI isn't CCI anymore- they were bought out by ATK/Vista Outdoors. Explains why quality and apparently customer service went to hell. Well, they lost my business and recommendations, so dumb move on them- especially since it's all on youtube now and many more have swore off the brand. It's a damn shame because they used to be an excellent company, gave them thousands of my dollars over 20 years. Idiots.
You forgot the CCI Quite .22 HP, CCI Quik-Shok, CCI Christmas red/green and CCI Liberty red white and blue. CCI Blazer was left out as well. The title just said "every CCI" but it's no big deal that it isn't.
First of all the Christmas one is seasonal (obviously) and I couldn't get that at the time of the video, and it's nothing more than a color coated standard velocity round. Pretty much the same deal for the red white and blue stuff- it's just a coated mini mag. Not really concerned with getting all the colors of the rainbow when they are just one of their other bullets covered up. That's kinda like saying I didn't get the "Choot em" Troy Landry pack. Why does it matter? Because they are just mini mags marketed with a gimmick, just like the christmas pack and red white and blue pack, but in reality they are the same thing that I already showed. The "quick-shok" is the "cci segmented", they just changed the name; so I did show it. And I did show the quiet segmented did I not? That *is* the quiet hp; there is no unsegmented hp for the quiet.
@@BuckeyeBallistics First, there is a quiet hollow point, I'm looking at it now. The quiet has three rounds: lead round nose, hollow point and segmenting hollow point. I know all the seasonal ones are mini mag lead round nose and the quik-shok is the segmenting hollow point, it just would've been neat to see them all together, even the "shoot 'em" box.
@@jmurphy68463 I just checked their website man; there is no quiet hollow point that isn't segmented. So idk if you have something that is discontinued or what, because when I made the video there was no such thing, and currently there is no such thing according to their own website.
No they won't feed properly or cycle the action. Now if you put 1 in at a time in the breech and then manually eject it after firing, then yes- but I'm sure that's not what you were asking.
I have a old savage that has a locking bolt you just push the charging handle in . So it is kind of like a bolt action with shorts you load the tube normally and rack the first round in and push the bolt handle in fire and repeat . It works really well . Long rifle just load and pull the handle out and it's semi auto .
I remember buying a box of shorts. after shooting a bunch, I was consolidating my ammo. I couldnt find the box. I may have shot them. I know there was a few malfunctions. Maybe that was them? Lol
I don't think you could reliably kill a coyote or hog or alligator with .17hm2, but you definately could with some of these .22 rounds; so I would have to disagree with you. There is a big difference between a 17 grain (essentially pellet), and a 40 grain bullet.
I used to feel the same until they basically called me a liar after I had a problem with some of their ammo after 20 years of loyalty to their brand. They were bought out by Vista Outdoors a few years back, so they are no longer the CCI I used to know and love and perhaps this is why quality has suffered. Regardless, there is no excuse for the poor customer service I recieved which is the reason for my unfollowing. It all started with my review of the Taurus TX22 (explicit language warning), and I have documented in further videos my interactions with them. All of these are easily accessed in my .22playlist on the channel for your viewing pleasure...
I've tested the Std Velocity vs the overpriced Green Tag at 50yds and they shoot basically with the same accuracy and both feed with no prob in my Kidd 10/22.
Looks like you are missing the standard velocity Christmas packs. And the 300 round Christmas pack in red and green synthetic coating and the Liberty pack with red white and blue coating
Got a rifle with the .22 sub-sonic hollow points. That should be enough to stop any looters trying to steal toilet paper from my home right? It's a precarious time right now.
Any gun will deter someone who's being shot at by it, and any gun can kill. And a .22 rifle with hollow points does more damage than a 9mm with fmj's, so it'll do just fine. Lot of dummies out there with fmj's in their pistols instead of hollow points...
Id say, the most fun you can get out of a .22 ammo choice is the "Winchester Super X magnum." That bullet has a nice little kick back to make target practice fun.
Trying my best. I got a lot of shooting to do this year, been out a few times so far. I'm working on a 500 yard .22lr shot currently. What results specifically do you want to see/which bullets? I'll see what I can do...
Guns&Cars ...... Hi . There isnt any particular bullet weight or shape . After all they will perform differently in both our rifles . Your tests could help point me in the right direction though . Im mainly shoot rabbits and possums an enjoy the challenge of a longer shot to make it fair on the critters. My rig is a newly acquired CZ 455 Synthetic Blue " Night Sky Edition " , topped with a Nikko Sterling Targetmaster 6-24×44 scope with painful 1/8 adjustments. I'll probably get arthritis before I can try your 500mtr shot . 💔
Mine too; been shooting those for almost 20 years. Good combination of accuracy and power for the price. Otherwise I would just shoot Velocitors all day lol.
CCI standard velocity WAS my favorite..most accurate go to round..NO MORE ! Quality has Dropped off a Cliff!! extreme velocity spread..i have enjoyed tens of thousands of rounds..have thousands of rounds of new stuff, thats just TERRIBLE..there are no words.. 🥺
Indeed true. Shortly after I made this video, I had a Stinger squib load, then CCI basically telling me I was lying that I had a squib when I called them about it. I later found out that CCI was bought out by ATK/Vista Outdoors and is thus no longer the CCI we used to love and know. I no longer recommend CCI, as they are no better than any other brand out there now, yet the dirtbags are still charging twice as much for the stuff without giving twice the quality like it used to be...
I don't own a chrono, myself. So, I can't confirm what I'm about to say. But, I've watched several videos of people chronographing different CCI ammo. The Velocitors are only going about 75-100fps faster than the 36g Mini Mags. They never came close to their advertised velocity, on the box. Also, the Velocitor doesn't expand, when shot from a pistol, but the Mini Mags do. Plus, the Mini Mag expands to a much larger diameter, than the Velocitor, out of a rifle. Just thought that I would share that info, with you guys... The videos are done by a guy named Alaska something, or something Alaska, here on RUclips. Check em out.
I have seen a couple videos where they didn't quite meet advertised velocity. It has to be the right barrel length to acheive maximum velocity, be that an 18" barrel or 22" or whatever. But either way, the Mini Mag hollow point is only 36 grains. So the 40 grain velocitor going even 100fps faster will hit much harder, much more energy. AND it will carry that increased energy farther, because a lighter bullet loses velocity quicker than a heavier one. I have a chrono, plan to do some comparisons when it warms up. Also the velocitor isn't designed to mushroom like the mini mag, but rather the tip flattens out. And also again, lol, most .22 hollow point don't expand from pistols because the velocity is too low. With all that being said, the Mini Mags have been my go to round for the past 15 years. They are more accurate than the velocitors in most guns too. But I never liquefied a bird with with the Mini Mags, but did with the Velocitors. They hit a lot harder inside 50 yards...
Thanks for the response, bro. You're correct, in your comments. The Velocitor is designed more for a penetrating affect. I understand the design of both rounds(Velocitor, Mini Mag), but I would be a lot more excited about the Velocitor, if it were somewhere close to its advertised velocity. And you're right, the Mini Mags shoot more accurately for me, also. I can't wait to see your tests. I'm not sure what barrel length this guy was using, but the Mini Mags were getting their fullest potential, in velocity. They were slightly exceeding their advertised velocity, on the box. Which is VERY RARE. The optimal barrel length is up for debate... I do know that if your barrel is TOO LONG, you will actually start causing "drag", and start to get reduced speeds at the muzzle. I've heard everything from 14-24" for optimum barrel length. Who knows...lol. I'm gonna rewatch those videos from the Alaska guy. His barrel length seemed to be perfect. I'll send you the link, if I can find them again.
There is a cool website called "Ballistics By The Inch" that test's velocity by barrel length. They actually managed 1400fps with the velocitors with one rifle. I rounded up all the Higher Velocity (1300+fps) 40-42gr rounds I could find to compare to the Velocitors. I will chrono them and am going to test for accuracy and expansion as well. I'm trying to find the hardest hitting .22lr there is, which is going to be a high velocity 40+gr. All the super fast ones are too light.
Awesome!! I'll check out that ballistics calculator. And, I can't wait to see your tests. I'm a ballistics nerd. I just left a ballistics calculator. LOL Here's something interesting... I knew that sight height, from your bore, made a difference in bullet trajectory. So, I did a precise measurement on 2 of my rifles, and plugged them into the program. I had been leaving sight height at the standard 1.5". My rifles are actually 1.7"(sight height from bore). I like to make my rifles hit 1" high at 100, and 1" low at 200. By changing 1.5 to 1.7, it changed my short range zero from 38 yards, to 45 yards, to achieve what I previously stated. 1" high at 100, 1" low at 200. That's a huge difference!!! Made even more of a difference, than I thought it would. This is how people shooting AR's are able to use the 50-200 yard zero. The scope height(about 2.5") allows their bullet to start on a slightly more upward angle. This gives them a more pronounced arch, on their trajectory. Not sure if you had ever thought about scope height. But, I thought that I would throw that in there... Most people don't understand how scope height makes a difference. It does!!!
Yeah I'm pretty familiar with line of sight vs bore height. I used to put lower scope mounts on my .22's because it kept impact closer to zero from 10-80 yards, the distance I would typically shoot. I would simply calculate how high to hold for longer shots. Then I got my .17hmr and things got much easier lol.

The velocitor is the best hypersonic 22lr. (Rifle amd pistol) Much deeper penetration than the stinger (weight, sectional density) and stingers fall on their face after like 70ish yards.
You guys need to swing by my .22 playlist and check out the gel tests I've been doing this year...
Good video man, I had no idea CCI manufactured this many options. I'm a huge fan of the stingers. Been trying to buy every box I can find.
Thanks, but I had a falling out with the brand after I got some bad ammo from them and their customer service called me a liar. If you want to know more/see what happened, start with my TX22 review video.
Man that Green carpet brings back some memories boy I'll tell ya
Poor times! Yeah!
Maybe they're new since this video was made, but there is also a semi auto version of the quiet22 with a little more velocity to help cycle.
Yea they came out after the video- I did a video of them last year with my 10/22.
Thanks for the overview of all this ammo. Just picked up some CB Shorts and Mini-Mags, so this helped me know what to expect.
Check out my .22 playlist to see some gel tests I've been doing
Very thorough review. I had no idea that CCI had so many choices, but in some cases I kinda wished that they had a few more.
@@BuckeyeBallistics Sounds good, I'll check them out, I'm interested in the 9mm Parabellum also.
This is an awesome video! This variety of stuff is why I love shooting .22. Out of all of this, it's all still cheaper than other rifle calibers!
Thanks man.
@@BuckeyeBallistics Your welcome! I subscribed too, keep up the good content lol
@@sandstoneridge6041 Well thank you, greatly appreciate the sub!
I must've missed that explanation about the CA only round? What's the one you couldn't get?
5:10 I think that with a larger case capacity you can achieve the same velocity with less chamber pressure, and less pressure equals less noise.
Great video 👍 I love 22 lr my favorite cal even though I have a variety of calibers the 22 is just so versatile my m&p 15-22 is my favorite rifle
I love stretching the envelope with .22lr, as seen in my video series seeking 500 yard performance with a 10/22.
😂 I love the inflation comment
The Stinger and Veloster are the two all around best rounds to keep and use if I get only picked two rounds to shoot out of my 1022 for all three p's paper people or prey
Check out my gel tests of those and others in the .22 playlist on the channel...
I still need to get another bolt action so I can do videos with them...
@Guns&Cars Have you ever heard of CCI .22LR "Training" ammo. Saw some yesterday. It might be out of production. I can't find out anything about it. It says "Training" on the label.
I'd have to see it, never heard of it.
@@BuckeyeBallistics I'll go back to that little hardware store and buy some soon, and let you know the specs of the ammo.
@@BuckeyeBallistics I went to the hardware store this morning, and the "training" ammo was all gone. dagnabbit! It'll just have to remain a mystery.

Excellent well thought presentation! CCI should be proud of your work,$$$
Yeah no, they essentially called me a liar when I called them about a squib load I had ON CAMERA some time after I posted this video...
Screw em , I think you can be proud of this video!
99.9% of people watching these types of videos wish they could go back in time, when high quality ammo was stacked all over the shelves and cost between 4-12 even for high caliber ammo.
Yup
The cci quiet has arround 60.7 joules and my airgun has 110 but most airguns have between 10----> 20 joules if it is a sprig one, between 20----> 40 joules if it is a nitropiston and between 40----> 70 if it is a pcp. (Mine is a nitropiston one)

Yeah maybe it was a limited production. SGammo has them in stock though.
Yeah probably a limited edition, that or they didn't sell so they discontinued them.
Cool thank you for helping me narrow down the ammo types. Cant wait to pick up my .22 and grab a few ammo boxes
Have fun plinkin!
@@BuckeyeBallistics thanks for the advice, got me thiking in a different direction, all the best
I didn't notice any CCI Blazer.
I can’t find any info on the CCI OEM .22 LR 40 gr LRN - even on the CCI-ammunition site.
What info do you seek and which ones are you talking about? OEM is not a word I've ever seen associated with ammo. Subsonic, standrad velocity, or high velocity- which ones are you talking about? Are they in this video or no?
It should be noted that the Stinger & Quick Shok have longer than standard brass and might cause ejection problems.
Typically not on modern firearms
Super, Super, SUPER GOOD BRO!!! VERY INFORMATIVE ...Thank you very much!!!
Dude what an effort
Forgot the blazers. But damn didn't know they had all that good job
Great video! I always wondered about the differences. Very cool
Thanks, glad you liked it.
I am a new 22LR pistol owner as well. I bought the CCiLR mini mag 100 round nose bullets. Good pick? What about just for target shooting?
semi or rev will have a lot to do with which ammo
I have a semi auto 22 cal MP40 - I went to a local gun store and all they had to sell was ammo that didn't cycle for my weapon - Can you recommend 22 LR ammo that has a reputation for good cycling?
Typically anything high velocity copper plated round nose will cycle the best.
Hands down the Velocitors. Later this year I'm going to compare all this ammo to one another...
No 22LR is humane on pigs... Eyeball shots at 4 yrs excluded.
I came looking for comments on the Pistol Match 22LR 40 grain competition, but it is not presented here.
Then it came out after this video did.
Can you add links to all the other videos here? To make it easier to find them.
I have a .22 playlist on the channel...
What is best ammo for 22rl ruger rifle. I found the cci subsonic jam more and fail to feed. For me the cci mini mag works best.
Love your carpet.
Not sure if that is a joke or not, but if not, thanks. Lol.
It sure tied the room together
Gotta love velocitor’s I like it better than the stinger because in my test the stinger’s penetrate less and fragment too much, love CCI man, best .22 ammo I’ve shot.
Impressive collection! I’ve only got my hands on standard mini mags, stinger, copper, and velocitors.

I need some super sonic's for my 22in. Barrel 10/22 Ruger
If anybody uses a 22 for C&C I have found that CCI Stingers seem to work the best as far as reliability.
C&C?
Awesome video thanks for posting it.
My pleasure, and thank you.
Where can i buy this
Which ammo can you recommend for a heritage rough rider 22
Your rough rider can shoot any ammo in this video, but I guess if I had to pick one I'd say the Mini Mags. I have a few videos on the rough riders, including shooting them 100 yards accurately. Check them out in the .22/rimfire playlist on the channel 👍

I have 50 boxes of 50 rounds of that, all full.
I don't understand the lead thing. Yall understand it came out of the ground right? It's ok to put it back.
Lol good point. But I think it's more for indoor ranges because they don't want the particles floating around maybe, being ingested. Idk.
Birds and other animals eat the small lead particles and die.
Eg geese, ducks, chickens, song birds,.... Hence the game bird ban on lead shot.

Pew pew
I have a question. Can I shoot cci shorts out of a simi Auto .22lr (m&p 15-22 )?
Lol
That's cool, I think I heard of that once before.
Most likely lol

.17 HM2 made every round on that table obsolete....but still fun to shoot
I don't think you could reliably kill a coyote or hog or alligator with .17hm2, but you definately could with some of these .22 rounds; so I would have to disagree with you. There is a big difference between a 17 grain (essentially pellet), and a 40 grain bullet.
I collect CCI as well I love their ammo
I used to feel the same until they basically called me a liar after I had a problem with some of their ammo after 20 years of loyalty to their brand. They were bought out by Vista Outdoors a few years back, so they are no longer the CCI I used to know and love and perhaps this is why quality has suffered. Regardless, there is no excuse for the poor customer service I recieved which is the reason for my unfollowing.

Lot of dummies out there with fmj's in their pistols instead of hollow points...
nice impressive comparison

Mine too; been shooting those for almost 20 years. Good combination of accuracy and power for the price. Otherwise I would just shoot Velocitors all day lol.
You know any online stores that still have them in stock currently?

@@drigocrews5743 You're welcome. Now don't go buying it all up
CCI standard velocity WAS my favorite..most accurate go to round..NO MORE !
Now you are missing the “stanger”
You mean Plinksters new gimmik? Because I have Stingers in this video.
Yes haha did u see his vid :)
thx for info good video
All hunting is lead free in California now but we can still use lead for every thing else for now
New Jersey just passed a law outlawing copper etc bullets. 😱
Why? On what grounds?
At cci review thanks bro
Thank you!
My pleasure
That ending LMAO
Then I got my .17hmr and things got much easier lol.
nice ty interesting
Nope.... cci blazer in the black box.. I bought a bunch last year
Blazer isn't really the same product line/brand, but you're right at the same time. Good eye.

Avoid the Ruger 10/22.
I've had 3 new ones in 20 yrs and they're all crap from the factory.
I'll never spend $250 on a gun that requires $300 of modifications to make it function.
They're junk. I can name a dozen people who agree with me.
Bad firing pins. Bad bolt face. Bad extractors. Bad springs. Broken trigger guts.
If you can afford it. Contact the Johnny Appleseed guys. One guy in FL makes their 10/22 guns.
