A great little tractor👍 Allis Chalmers didnt have a problem designing a drive train, the problem was every tractor under 100 hp was being built off shore, they wouldn't be able to compete , cost wise, building a complete tractor in West Allis
Besides having Fiat stamped in the casting under the pto shield, France is on the engine block! I think by the oil filter, but not 100% sure. This tractor was made at the Harvey plant, but I wonder if it was only assembled? Not one common part with older models.
The drivetrain was purchased from Fiat, the engine was made by Allis Chalmers in Harvey Illinois, and it was assembled at West Allis in Wisconsin and styled to be in the 7000/8000 series tractors
Thank you for sharing, I have 2) 6080's & a 6070 on my place and love them all.
Jealous !

Lacking Powershift was a issue, even a 2 speed would be nice.
@@charlie175 the transmission was synchronous so you could shift on the go
For sure but you are still clutching it to get there (3&4 Synch only). A PD with no neutral would have been great. But that is my opinion.
@@charlie175 could buy a 7000 then you would have had a 3 shift powershift
Nice lil" Allis. There was not many in our area but I did get to use one to bail hay and I really liked it.
Great tractors for tedding and raking other than that they were to light to do much of anything else.....

Transmission forward was all Allis.

We had a 6080. Nothing impressive and given that little sawed off 4 cylinder engine it wasn't hard for a 185 to run rings around. it
Can't agree with you. Ran a 6080 for a few years and it performed great.
