Do NOT snap the female part on the D-ring like this video shows. Thread it through the D-Rings like the regular strap, then snap it to hold the loose end. It will then be solid.

If there is enough length, it's good to thread the strap through the D rings, not just around them. It will provide better hold if the snap comes undone. I just recently bought a solid stainless steel quick release and was able to wind it through the D rings. I love it.
Thank you very much for posting this video. I wanted to purchase those quick release strap, but didn't know with one to get or how to install it. I decided to google it and I found you. Thank you again.
Hello, and thank you for tutorial. Recieved my helmet quick release kit today and just installed it!! Awesome! But when you install the red peace, the one that the strap gets pushed into, you have to go through the double-D ring, if not, the only thing that holds the helmet on your head is the plastic button. It will most likely come off if you were to crash😄
You're welcome. Stay tuned for another safety upgrade to this helmet. I'll be releasing the video later this week. If you have access to an 3d printer then check out www.thingiverse.com/thing:4683922
That is correct. I pinned the comment explaining this further. One thing that frustrated me was when the snap was too close together preventing the normal use of the d-ring mechanism.
THIS IS DANGEROUS ADVICE. 😳 It should be run through the d rings in the same way as you would with the regular strap. The way you have done this means that it will fail in the event of a crash.
What do you mean run it through the d rings? I'm trying to understand. This product has been drop tested and I've personally tested it when I drug my head across the ground at 37 mph during a crash. It holds firm.
@@FlyboyEUC He means run it through the two D rings, then over the first one and under the second one, just like you secure a helmet with D ring buckles. That way the strap is secured by the D rings and the snap is just used to hold down the loose end. Your way has the helmet held on with a plastic snap. A no no.
You don’t even know how to do it properly. The d-ring end gets threaded like you would normally use it with the strap. Don’t give instructions that could get someone hurt or killed.
that is pretty good! i like the D ring, makes you feel like a pro but i actually don't unbluckle it anymore , just losen it up to the front of my chin and take my helmet off. Bu i guess i'll dio this thank you
Thanx for the video 👍🏻good solution for dubbel d 👊🏻 Tried to find it on amazon europe but could't find it, only just the ones without metal buckle. Perhaps you know where I can order it in Europe?
There are plenty of the quick release parts on Amazon but none came with the hardware to attach it to the helmet except for the one I linked. I couldn't find any other options but you can make your own strap. Another idea is to buy a bicycle helmet type clip. I saw a couple of those in my search.
@@FlyboyEUC I have the sew-on Quick release unit. The EX4 snap-on unit you show is so much easier to install. I wonder why it is gone from Amazon and frankly the entire internet, can't find the EX4 version anywhere.
safer to strap it on head but can also cause big injury like decapitation it should release at a certain force. l just saw a vid on theync about it a tire came loose from a car and hit his head.

Heck ya!!! I need these for my kids helmets. I constantly have to help them. I didn’t know they made such a thing. Thanks!
Thank you Adam for this awesome helmet upgrade! The details were very helpful.
I've updated my TSG Pass to these straps and love it! Stay Safe!

Yes. I cut mine off but someone else mentioned that you can pop it off with a butter knife.
The weak point is the snap on the D ring. Thead the strap like normal then snap closed
That is correct. I pinned the comment explaining this further. One thing that frustrated me was when the snap was too close together preventing the normal use of the d-ring mechanism.
Hey man, I just got my kit today, and took about five minutes to do this. Thanks! Makes a great helmet even better!
If that button on the end of the strap is a plastic button, you can pry it off with a butter knife, no need to cut your strap.

In lieu of cutting the strap, you can just file down that little button/rivet.

It helped me, thanks a lot ❤
You are supposed to clip it between the two D rings.
brilliant desigh! need one asap

Can I use this strap on a full face Mtb helmet? It’s a fly racing helmet.
I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to

Great video but where's the link for me to purchase the quick release
The link no longer works. Just search for quick release helmet strap.
I cannot find your link in the comments the hardware used, If possible please share again. Thanks 👍
It seems to come and go on Amazon. There are alternatives but not as nice I think. Just search for quick release chin strap.

What is this kit called I will see if I can get one

You put this up 1 month ago, now the EX4 Quick Release is gone from Amazon. Any other sources for this?
