Zetsuke4 do you seriously believe that? It was so obviously a joke the whole time. Did you really think that was Daniel sterns talk show? Did you really think John wrote a book about nick? There’s no way that was intended to be believed
The only thing bad about the sketch is that the audience is totally awful. There’s parts in this where I’m laughing out loud without a peep from the audience. I think that sort of translates to “bad” to us without these cues, but if you look at it subjectively there’s a lot of golden moments. The audience just isn’t very good this time.
mikeyb1335 no it didn’t they’re doing a shitty bit that got what it deserved. Some of their other appearances are decently funny but this one just wasn’t there
Only people who binge on everything these guys do would find that sketch funny. It was weak. Kudos to the audience for not being a bunch of fan-boy sheep.
"John Mulaney is a thirty-year-old Irish kid from Chicago who is most comfortable playing a sixty-eight-year-old Jewish guy from the Upper-East Side." Nick Kroll
+Sam Hamish. Umm... George St. Geegland isn't Jewish. He was in his early 70s in 2017. And he's from the Upper West Side, not the Upper East Side. Other than that, everything you said is true.

@@ng23242 His father had more of a cold rage. Taking a van full of kids through the McDonald's drive-thru and only ordering a single unsweetened black coffee? Ice cold.
I once saw Conan O’Brien in a hotel restaurant, and before I recognized him my first thought was “this man is way too old to be wearing a PBR shirt.” So I’m with you on the leather jacket, Mulaney. My other dumb observation was that he truly is incredibly tall. I’ve met other men his height, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in skinny jeans. It seems to magnify the effect.
I really hope that John is able to get another 15 years of sobriety under his belt, continuing for the rest of his life. He is such a good person and makes so many people laugh.
Conan is like a surprised cartoon mom: Guest: "someone did something" Conan: "someone did something!?" I can say unironically that this is what makes Conan a great interviewer, he tries to make his guests to go deeper into the topics they are talking about
John Mulaney is so smart and intelligent with his jokes and the way he writes them and delivers them that alot of his stuff goes above the average persons head. The man truly is one of the best comedians and writers of the current generation. His stand ups on Netflix had me crying with laughter. One of my favorites.
That would be more than amazing😍 Everyone rants about something unimportant for 15minutes, people who like and understand their humour laugh for an hour and the program is over☺️👍
this interview is the perfect example of Conan's "straightman" skill. He feeds them so well, and that skillset transfers over to his interviews with non-comedians as well. That's why he's the GOAT
"And there's a question mark there, but I can tell you the answer: Yes." I don't know why, but that made me laugh so hard. John Mulaney's voice is what makes me laugh.
Nick looks so good in an all black suit. I love John with and my heart and he always looks amazing but damn. I think they both look good in all black besides the shirt tbfh
"I WANTED THE MONEY"
Best defense for theft ever.
Right he was so honest about it. I WANTED THE MONEY
Where's my money!!
“This is hundreds of dollars we are talking about”
I love the facial expressions and attitude he gave as if it was obvious why he did it
well if you can make jury laugh you will win
John Mulaney looks like future Barry Allen that screwed up timeline again and became a comedian
artmenaz lmao
LMAO thats what i was thinking
artmenaz whaaat?!? You just blew my mind!!!
Mulaney's always dressed like a banker
that is hilarious! 😂😂
I love how you can sometimes hear Coach Steve through Nick's voice.
Hahaha exactly
When he goes uuuuuh its tripping me out!
3:51
SecretVVeapon it’s funny how as soon as I read this it happeno
LMAO I kept hearing it
Finally Conan gets called out on his off stage leather jacket.
Ashutosh Chakraborty probably not too much considering their comment was 2 years ago. i doubt they’re losing sleep.
The joke was on them because it became his on-stage leather jacket
The audience was SUPER flat I'm out here crying from laughter these guys are great
it's a skit they were supposed to believe the act until the end
Yea....cant explain the audience but conan is great and so is Mulaney and Kroll
Just wait, now late night has no audience
Zetsuke4 do you seriously believe that? It was so obviously a joke the whole time. Did you really think that was Daniel sterns talk show? Did you really think John wrote a book about nick? There’s no way that was intended to be believed
The bit was going so fast I didn’t have time to laugh. I agree with Conan when he said he has no idea what is going on
the role/roll joke shouldve gotten a bigger laugh tbh
Yeah
nick's face at that moment is priceless
Maybe you should know your roll
"What you think sourdough would've been funnier? " got me so hard
I feel like it got exactly the reaction he was aiming for, so he could deliver the funnier sourdough line.
"This whole time we've been fighting each other when the problem has been Conan's off-stage leather jacket."
Some of these jokes were so clever and dumb at the same time
Those are my favorite kind of jokes lol
That’s like 90% of Mulaney’s stand up lol
The best kind 👌
sounds like me at school
What are ya dating a pig lady? Assuming that’s duke nukem
When Nick Kroll gets "upset" or acts "angry" you can hear coach Steve come out lol
i know it’s so weird 😂

All this flew over the audiences head
mikeyb1335 no it didn’t they’re doing a shitty bit that got what it deserved. Some of their other appearances are decently funny but this one just wasn’t there
Absolutely terrible audience reaction, but if you’re not familiar with these comics I can see the jokes not landing with everywhere
Lt. Finglefuble Dingler maybe it’s just their net work humor that people from los ángeles can’t seem to comprehend
Only people who binge on everything these guys do would find that sketch funny. It was weak. Kudos to the audience for not being a bunch of fan-boy sheep.
Oz Nerfherder das cap

John Mulaney is going to go down as one of the greats, impossibly quick and witty - and his writing is top notch
What about nick
“What? Sourdough wouldve been funnier?”
I HATE THIS AUDIENCE HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT KING MULANEY LIKE THIS

Lucas Grover LMAO I forgot about this comment, I’m glad 3.9k people liked it!
maddie jo 😂
@Nehemiah Cha I-
my thoughts exactly! they were so quiet that I had to double check and make sure it wasn’t a COVID interview!!
John Mulaney would kill at roasts
he helped write a lot of the jokes for the james franco roast
Mithila Parekh one of the funniest roasts imo
Nick going to Rehab then coming out and falling in love with a new girl is kinda predicting John's future
@@charlesbronson2926 that’s not really why John was addicted to coke but ok
RIGHT LMFAO
I saw it as
John: I had a drug problem
Nick: yes, he had a cocaine problem
John: dRUG problem! Cocaine wasn't the only thing I was doing!
He's a typical narcissist
I love Mulaney's fiery temper

conan and his leather jacket are like Michael Scott and his Levi jeans.
Yasssssss!
"Nick nack, This guy's whack. Give the freak a bone."?
Yes
"He stole a roll(ʳᵒˡᵉ) from me, it was a brioche"
"What, sourdough would've been funnier? ɢᴏ ᴛᴏ ʜᴇʟʟ!"
Genius
"soup dumpling of a foot" this is such a beautiful description
"What? Sourdough would've been funnier? Oh, go to hell."
"yeah Conan's off camera leather jacket" LOL finally someone says it out loud!
This comedy duo is pure and good. 10/10
This crowd doesn’t deserve these two. This was gold!
Would have been funnier if they ended by both saying I'm sorry Mr O'Brien we're currently no longer speaking to you.
Yep, he is under litigation

John Mulaney really does look like a "child that looks terrible"...
*get some rest, tall child! You can't keep burning the candle on both ends!*
I really hope that John is able to get another 15 years of sobriety under his belt, continuing for the rest of his life. He is such a good person and makes so many people laugh.
"There's a question mark but I can tell you the answer. Yes!"
I swear this man
“What sourdough would have been funnier? Go to hell.”
Conan is like a surprised cartoon mom:
Guest: "someone did something"
Conan: "someone did something!?"
I can say unironically that this is what makes Conan a great interviewer, he tries to make his guests to go deeper into the topics they are talking about
"What sourdough would've been funnier?!"
He managed to say a terrible joke and make it funny
John Mulaney is so smart and intelligent with his jokes and the way he writes them and delivers them that alot of his stuff goes above the average persons head. The man truly is one of the best comedians and writers of the current generation. His stand ups on Netflix had me crying with laughter. One of my favorites.
I appreciate that after every Conan clip they don’t have obnoxiously loud music the silence is very welcome
"you're a father, get a tweed jacket!" 😂😂😂
John has the best poker face it’s un real. He just doesn’t break.
It’s the coke
What a terrible audience
3:52
the coach steve jumped out
it is NUTS how hard they commit to a bit. love them
"He's got a classic case of caffeinis." That one hit me like a brick.
*I W A N T E D T H E M O N E Y*
This audience is hella weak.
idk if it just me, but i think Nick Kroll is cute.
Larissa Reyes yES
He is indeed!!!
Zaddy in my eyes
He’s had a bit of a glow up.
I laugh even harder when John or Nick start laughing at their own joke bc it’s that funny lmao
Alternate title: Coach Steve stops talking to Andrew
The yellow decorations on the table looks like pringles. With those red spicy flavors
My fat ass thought they were Pringles
The Daniel Stern show bit killed me. It’s so good!
I love how Nick is coach Steve when he gets angry or annoyed
John makes comedy look easy honestly it’s incredible
"Mr. Lousy, aka Jerk"
I see you're using the middle school classic
It’s been over two years and this audience is still bad
This is one of the funniest things I have ever watched, but the audience is so flat is kinda sad
I love Nick's smirk when he's trying not to break
This bit went right over the audiences' heads
Mulaney, Richard Ayoade, Sean Locke and David Mitchell would be hilarious.
That would be more than amazing😍 Everyone rants about something unimportant for 15minutes, people who like and understand their humour laugh for an hour and the program is over☺️👍
That'd be Britt Quiz Show Dynamite... lets also throw Noel Fielding and Jack Whitehall in the mix.
Good God.
I just hear Nick and Andrew 😂
bruh same, I just finished season 3 of big mouth and that's all I heard
John Mulaney reminds of "Chandler". Yes, the character, not necessarily Mathew Perry.
You know that one annoying guy in every comment section that just has to correct everything. I hate people like that...
Matthew*
That's ok, I deserved that. I also forgot a "me" after "reminds". I shouldn't be watching RUclips when I'm too tired, that's what I say.
He’s Jack Bing!!! He sounds like a 50s news journalist!!!! I see him and see Monica and chandler!!!
John mulaney will never turn down the opportunity to describe a child’s body part as a food
The audience does NOT get the humor.
this interview is the perfect example of Conan's "straightman" skill. He feeds them so well, and that skillset transfers over to his interviews with non-comedians as well. That's why he's the GOAT
I love that they deliver specific jokes to Andy when they’re on because they know he’s their target audience
Comedy only for comedians
the best kind of comedy.
**comedy for people who aren't dumbasses, unlike most talk show audiences
"What, sourdough would've been funnier? Go to hell!" 🤣🤣🤣
Kinda reminds me of Norm Macdonald's sense of humor
how dare you compare this hot garbage to Norm MacDonald
nanefresh They do in the sense that theyre just trying to make each other laugh.
I think it's the folksy similes and old-timey phrases that's meant to be ironic but sincere at the same time
"Norm's Macdonald's" Yeah, BECAUSE I WANTED TO and "classic case of caffenis" are similar.
@@nanefresh are you ok?
“Are you dating a pink lady?” I laughed so hard 😆
Knowing both of their's comedy I find them such a odd couple but it really works.
I feel sad knowing John's not doing so well in life these days. I wish to see him back soon. He's one of my top 5 comedians of all time.
He did a show again recently where he said he’s been sober for a few months now so at least he’s starting to do better

The fact that most of the dialogue is being improvised makes this a whole lot funnier.
