  • This is the first video of the series called First Time Mom Postpartum; how I'm dealing with postpartum anxiety and depression. My postpartum journey as a first time mom has been a lot harder than I thought, so I want to start sharing what it's been like starting with how I've been dealing with my postpartum anxiety along with a little bit of depression.
It makes me a little angry that no one talked to me about postpartum especially me being a first time mom, let alone postpartum anxiety and depression...why isn't it talked about!! Mental health recovery is such a HUGE part of the postpartum journey and just as important as the physical healing aspect of it! So I'm here today to talk about the topic of postpartum anxiety in hopes of helping you guys know what it's like and to not feel alone.
In addition, I believe that if you've gone through a lot of struggles to get your baby, you are at even higher risk for postpartum anxiety and depression. I hope you find some encouragement through watching my struggles with postpartum anxiety in hopes you do not feel alone in your own struggles especially if you've gone through infertility and loss in order to get your little one.

    About my channel:
My name is Brittany and welcome to my channel where I share everything I know about health, fitness, nutrition, and how I lead a balanced lifestyle while working as an Operating Room Nurse. In addition, I'm passionate about sharing my infertility story and current IVF journey. Balancing living healthy with going through IVF is not easy, so I want to share it all in hopes of supporting other women.

My baby just turned 1 week. I came across your video about postpartum anxiety. We battled loss and infertility for year and almost lost him at 21 weeks. Nobody talks about the downs and the crying spells. When I have my crying session he looks up to me and I cry even more! I miss my freedom and my old life but I love my little one to pieces. Thankful for the waves of grace from my Abba father.

Everything you've said was my postpartum journey too. It's so difficult finding yourself in the beginning. My little one is turning 3 in a few weeks. As I'm sure you've heard it really does get easier. It becomes your new normal. You will feel like yourself again. Thank you for sharing your experience. I wish I would have looked up these types of videos when I was in the early postpartum days.

Brittany! (I have a 43 year old daughter named Brittany - started a trend🥰). Just remember, there are thousands of ladies out here who would give anything to have a messy room…due to that precious angel😇in your arms. Enjoy every minute of it AND you are doing a wonderful job, Mommy - Happy 1st Mother’s Day.💐

IVF is going through a lot of anxiety with each step of the way. I did not expect anxiety during pregnancy. Obviously making sure the baby is ok is a priority. I'm 17 weeks and now all of a sudden I have this fear that the baby isn't ours or fully ours. I did not expect this. I'd like to get anxiety under control before the baby comes. Your words though about enjoying it are very true. I think I am afraid to enjoy it due to my fear. Thanks for opening up about everything.

All I can say is keep hanging in there and taking good care of yourself. Anxiety during an IVF pregnancy is next level and MANY women experience your level of anxiety so you are definitely not alone! I can tell you that all of the doubts and fears and not allowing myself to get too excited about my pregnancy were all for nothing. None of my fears were true. Now I really regret not enjoying my pregnancy more and I’m very sad about it.
You got this girl! It’s all going to be ok and you will have your healthy beautiful baby before you know it!!💕

He's SO precious!!!! Ps, watching here from Canada, and I completely agree that 3month maternity leave is insane, and in my opinion goes against basic human rights. I really hope that changes for women in the US. Here we have anywhere from 12-18 months total that we can take, and we can collect about 40% of our income for 12months of that. I think some countries in Europe are better, but it's not bad. You can of course go back to work sooner if you'd like, every mama is different with what her and her baby need of course, but 3months just feel so soon, babies are still so young at that point :(

Aww thank you!! And wow!! That’s so amazing Canada does that for you! My anxiety would be so much less if I had a year off wow
My friend in Germany has something similar too. It’s crazy the US didn’t take better care of their moms. No wonder the birth rate is dropping drastically here!
