California Low Riders, San Jose, 1978

KCRA reporter John Gibson visited San Jose, California, in 1978 to report on the low rider scene at the corner of Story and King roads, purported to be the "Low Rider capital of the world." Gibson talked to Rachel Flores and Mary Gonzalez, members of the only women's low rider club in San Jose at the time, the Sophisticated Ladies. Flores is also seen speaking to the police, who at the time were enforcing laws prohibiting low rider enthusiasts from congregating.
