Rinjani is not for beginners. You made the memory of Rinjani so beautiful and serene. It makes me miss to hike Rinjani once again only for the view. The only downside of Rinjani's memory is the trash all over the places. I truly hope the local governments, hike operators, and visitors keep the cleanliness of Rinjani
Its NOT for beginners. I run half marathons and have a decent fitness, and this hike was HARD, like very hard. The first day is 1500m elevation gain in like 4 km's. The paths uphill are just mud/sand paths, so not great. The sleeping (for me) was awful with a lot of noise, and not that great of camping material. The morning to the top was even more difficult, in combination with the ash/sand/whatever you would go back 1 step for every two forward. It was a great hike nonetheless but its REALLY hard. Our guide also said only 20% make it to the top.
Hey Steff, beautiful video and amazing feat! I'm thinking of going in August, I want to ask: Are there (many) dangerous sections of the track? I don't mind the required fitness level, I'm just not a fan of those sections where there's a big drop on the side and similar. Are there ladders on the track? Is the guy at the end really hiking the mountain in flip-flops? 😀😀
Hi Lukas thank you for watching:) not many dangerous parts really, just take it slow and steady in the dark on the crater rim in the dark, the ridge can be a little exposed. And yeah there’s 2 ladders I remember seeing but they arent very high. And yes flip flops how mad is that😂 good luck!
I just summited Rinjani two days ago. Let me emphasise that Rinjani is NOT for beginners. You need to have an above average fitness level and a strong determination to summit. For reference, i do 3 strength training exercises and run 50km per week in preparation and yet i still struggle. It is also very dangerous when you are tired because there are no fences around to prevent you from falling sideways if you slip, fyi.
Rinjani is not the toughest. Definitely not for the beginner tho. Mt. Slamet and Mt. Kerinci are more challenging in terms of vegetation surrounding the trail (dense tropical jungle) and difficult terrain.
Yes it's 100% beginner level it's just a walk up a hill, nothing technical, no climbing or rope work, and if you do a paid trip there are porters who carry everything. The porters do it in flip flops... I'd actually advise to do it without a paid tour and carry your own gear etc, take a light weight tent etc

Wow, awesome video! I’m planning to hike Rinjani next month after years of not hiking. I guess it’s time to get back into shape!
@@lantipsupratiko3683 you’ll love it mate, best of luck!
I might see you there. Planning on doing it too😊
I though it is not for beginners. For newbie, I recommend Mt Merbabu in Central Java known as the most underrated mountain for foreign indeed
