34 in 1 minute and while not great was surprisingly clean for how fast i was trying to go
Started off with 17 changes per minute. Gonna try to get up to 30 within an hour.
Same
Thank you so much for this amazing course. Now i am a intermediate Guitar Player, and I came across your channel and i saw this course to see what i need to improve on and right now, I am learning so much!.
I Just started the 1 minute chord changes challenge and for the first try, i got 36!.
Now all i need to do is reach for that 60!, and maybe even more!.
Thank you so much for making this course fun, and free!.
Firts day of learning. I got 26 cord changes in a minute the second try I got 30. I have been playing the piano for 20 years and I just gor my first guitar
25 on my first try, I lost time focusing on playing only the right strings. I've been playing for two weeks and was lucky to find your course yesterday. It looks very thorough and well done. As an Italian friend, I must say that I also appreciate your clear and soothing way of speaking. I will continue to follow you and keep playing! Of course, I will reach 60 chord changes!
This is a good tip for practicing! Thank you!
I played bass on and off for the past few years and was able to get 40 legit ones on my first try at this, it's been a blast learning the guitar. I've always played with a lot of force but your earlier lesson explaining how soft playing can help really allowed me to take my speed up!
Second try and 72! Thank you so much for these lessons!
10 on my first try (I forgot I wasn’t supposed to strum more than once so I repeated the first few), 17 on the second
The point about the number of changes being measurable is very valuable . Should be motivating to see progress. Deliberate practice.
i got 65 on my first attempt !!
Hi, Justin. I managed to 18 changes in 1st take, 25 in the second.
Best guitar teacher ever. Hello from Slovenia (my father posted my first lesson on Instagram a few days back).
That's my kid! ;) 💪 🎸
That's great Lovro! keep up the practice and if you keep progressing like that, you'll be jamming with your dad in no time! Can you share the link to the instagram with me? (mail it to lieven ***at*** justinguitar ---dot--- com) | LievenDV | JustinGuitar Official Assistant
I see Justin now has an app for this exercise.
Just started the course today with my first ever guitar at the ripe age of 34. My first progression between A-D 18, A-E 15, and E-D 14. Looking forward to practicing more and improving the numbers. I'm impressed I could do even these many. I thought I might just get 3-5 in a minute :)
Reading the other comments I really feel motivated.
I'm getting back into the course myself, here's to sticking with it this time(for me)
You can do it! Rock on. :)
@@justinguitar Wow... Has it really been only 3 weeks? Feels like ages since I commented this. I can play wonderwall now btw 😂
first day : 11 changes
3rd day : 25 changes
just getting back in to the guitar after well over 20 years away. Accidentally set the timer to 28 minutes...thought that I was doing really well. Such a great way to learn though... loving it all over again.
Beginner here, 10 per min 🤗
Today at 14
Today at 22

karma007 Huge improvement!!
Jess thank you! I’m sticking with it.
Hi Justin I have started this course a few days back. I got 13 chord changes at the beginning and improved to 17 or so by that day's practice. Now I'm stalled at 20.Still practicing. Thanks for this wonderful course
17 chord changes in 1 minute.
2nd day of learning.
Ditto, got into a habit of strumming twice on each change...not sure why!!
@@BugPowderDust 18, first time.
then 23, then 30
Same! Second day too!
14 changes my first day with a guitar in my hands.
I tried learning like 15 years ago, but this channel wasn't around then. You're an amazing teacher and I feel like I'll be able to really get somewhere watching your video! Thank you!!!
I’m able to change chords 38 times in a minute in my first try 🤘🏾🤘🏾 😍
I've just found out about this channel. I'm a beginner and those lessons are great! I especially appreciate all the comments, they are what makes your course stand out for me. The second I have a doubt in my head while playing and watching your video, you address said doubt, saying its normal, and everything will be fine. Honestly, I've been trying to pick up a guitar for years, and never could I stay consistent, but this is first time, when I've stayed with it for two weeks, without pressuring myself to be a rockstar at the end of first lesson, and it's thanks to your awesome approach. Just wanted you to know, that after three years your videos are still helping people all over the world learn how to play this beautiful instrument. Thank you so much!
Same here buddy. Picked up a guitar for the first time 4 weeks ago and im hooked. Just found this channel and its amazing. Gonna go over all the lessons he has to offer. We can do it!
I got 36 the first time (which is today)
I Got 64 the first time( Which is today)
I'm 41 and just starting out. Got 32 on my first attempt. Not too bad, aiming for the 60. Thanks so much for all these great lessons. I really wanted to learn guitar when I was a teenager but couldnt afford the lessons.
I havent played for a quite time now and I never actually felt like i can change fast enough so i started this course and just with the tips on ginger placement i had 60 on my first try! I couldnt believe it so i did it multiple times. None of my previous guitar teachers didnt told me these things. Thank you!
I picked up an electric guitar for the first time and am following along with your lessons. I can see where I have a long way to go but this is gonna be so much fun.
I've played baritone ukulele for a couple of years and a couple months ago bought my first guitar. I practice daily and know several chords. My first attempt at the 1-minute challenge switching between A and D came in at 40.
This has been one of the most helpful exercises of my 1 year guitar journey so far!
15 to 21 to 27 on my first day. I did a little practice between rounds and was able to get a lot faster pretty quick. They dont sound great, but i want to get to 30 so i can move on! I love this technique and your teaching style! i've tried learning many times in the past, and have long since quit by now..Thank you!
I have had a guitar for about 3 years, I was just not connecting with it and playing like a month every year and not really knowing what I am doing, then I decided it is that time again but this time I would follow along with the justin guitar lessons, and I feel so proud of myself especially with this lesson. I got 29 firstly and then 36 on my third try and I think I can with much confidence say that I will be playing guitar for a long while so thank you so much Justin :)
Started really trying to learn guitar about 5 day ago. 32 chord changes my first try. Excited to keep up with these videos and learn more!
Really appreciate your posting these videos, Justin. It's great to have goals during this lockdown. I've just tried for the first time and managed 18 changes. Not great but I'm delighted to be even able to do that. Thank you
Hey - that's actually great. Be proud of yourself and keep going. Good luck! Cheers.
thank you justin for this tip as a 68 year old beginner lockdown i found this tip very helpful
First time trying this, I can do 24 chord changes in 1 min. Then 26. 28. 31. 33. 40. 36. 42. 48. 47.50!! This exercise really works and gets you motivated too
35 first time! I played music 10 years ago, bass guitar in high school. Taking these lessons because I want to learn and so far I love the lessons. My heckin fingers hurt LOL forgot about this part of learning
43 changes in the first minute timed! Fingers got a bit cramped from being a little tense so lost a couple seconds to readjusting! Love these lessons!
Hi Justin, been following your course since I'm a begginer, and I made 29 changes on my first try yesterday. Very happy with myself but you must take the credit :)
You sir are an amazing teacher. Without a doubt the most pedagogical one ive encountered here, Thank you! I did 41 the first time woohoo! (4th week playing)
Your lessons are absolute amazing, I'm looking forward to watching the rest of them! Just held a guitar for the first time today and now I know the D and A chord, I didn't think I'd get this far day 1 haha!
My first round of the 1 minute exercise was 9 chord changes, and tried it again after a few minutes and got 16! I'm so excited to continue!
Times it took to get 60 switches in a minute
1-28
2-34
3-44
4-45
5-49
6-55
7-59
8-63
This is amazing!!! :))
This is the first lesson when it goes from feeling discourages to encouraged. Switching chords and then seeing it get easier makes it actually seem possible to learn.
I got through 15! Now that school's out and I have more time I'm gonna start filling my time with these lessons!
I got 16 changes for the first time in a minute. I've been practicing D for a week and getting kinda hold on it now. Thank to you.
Really helping me. Got a 20£ guitar and a cell phone and I’ve got a new hobby which takes up most of my free time 🎉🎉❤
On day 1 I was on 20 changes per minute and till day 4 i reached 50 changes. It is a great exercise and truly the best one for beginners
hellooo justin first of all i wanna say that u are one of the best people alive, love and peace are two things that comes from u
that is my first week i was able to 72 from A to D , 50 from C to D
i started at 24 , i hope i get better , i will do everything possible to have the unlimited joy of playing guitar , i practice up to 4 hours a day
23! Been playing around for a few weeks just practicing off chord charts so I already had the chords down. Your method for A chord is much better! Just started your lessons today and greatly appreciate them.
First attempt. Literally just got the guitar, tuned it, followed your course to this point and made a go for it. Managed 17 changes.
Second attempt after some noodling and messing around. 25 changes.
Third attempt. Second day. 38 changes.
Sooo much easier on the second day, despite fingers hurting A LOT. This really is a motivating and fun way to track progress. :)

@@justinguitar Thanks Justin! I'm following along the beginner course. It's really great so far. I like how you've structured it, with a clear path to follow, practice routines and gauging progress.
46 on my first try! I used to play when I was in middle school, now I'm in college and trying to pick it back up again :)
Nice work!
First practice of chord changes and managed 17 in a minute. Feeling good now just to perfect the chords 😁
62 (not all clean) in a minute, I play guitar on and off
My friend suggested I learn the basics from YOU after seeing me play with weird fingers and wrist habits lol
I plan to go through the whole course anyway because I love the little tips you give in all the videos! Hope I get better! :)
picked up guitar for first time really aged 51 - had a little practice for 20 mins and did 38 first time, little more practice and 58 2nd try.... all inside of 1 hour. this is totally doable guys keep plugging away!
started playing guitar 3 days ago, just started watching the beginner tutorials today and i got 22 chord changes.
I managed to do 31 chord changes in my first attempt. Wrote it down with the chords and the date. I'll keep doing other lessons but I plan on hitting that 60!
