Great video! One additional thing to add to the Gain Tool for further ease of use: if you click T for your tool menu, and HOLD G for the Gain Tool, you can do your adjustments and then let go of the G key for your cursor to automatically switch back to the cursor tool. No need to click on T again to switch back. It works on any other tool too, like a "temporary hold" of whatever tool key you hold.
Yea I have been. Making content is exhausting. While I love RUclips and the friends I've made from my channel, I really needed to take a break and just work on other life stuff. I think I'll come back at some point though. Thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it.

@@itstonyholiday Hey Tony, I hope everything going on in your life will result the way you want them to. You are one of the best teachers I have ever seen! I personally will be waiting for your amazing content whenever you fell ready to it :)

I just moved over to logic after a while away from it. Why does the track stacks copy across any of the audio effects I add to the previous stack? 😅 sorry I’m trying to figure it out and I’m lost
@@itstonyholiday when i stack say percussion into a perc stack, then I stack my kick and bass say into another stack. If i had added a reverb to the perc stack it automatically applies it to kick and bass stack. i hope that clears it up. because I am lost as to why its copying over the affects. Even if I turn off the reverb on the perc stack, its turning it off on the kick and bass stack too. im assuming it has something to do with the settings, but i can not work it out
@@MultiDisposition I understand the issue now, but I can't figure out what the problem would be. My only answer which I don't think is possible is that you would have all the drum sounds inside a DMD with a reverb bus which is somehow affecting the single tracks when you put them in separate busses. What's your process when adding drum sounds?
i always thought it was dumb of Apple for not having the nested track stacks from the start, i had to make separate buses and connect each of the track to it for a simple compression for the longest time

Hi there, quick question. If i transferred the Apple Loop sound and Library sound on my external hard drive, when the actual Logic update occur, will those sound be transferred automatically on the hard drive if it's plugged in, or do I need to transfer the new loops manually ?
that record midi to track is a time saver for sure because at first you would have to use the external instrument plugin and then route it properly then play it out. And cross your fingers and hope its all in time because latency could kick in 🤣
What os is for this new version or the lastest? I'm on Big Sur 11.7 MacBook Air M1 and i'd like to use the free trial but i cannot install it unless i uptade to Monterrey. Is everything ok with Monterrey now? I don't want to regret for updating to Monterrey. I use iMovie and plan to get pluggins, melodyne and waves but not sure if it'll be supported with Monterrey. What would you recommend me to do? Thank you sm
Tony’s back at it! I’m very excited by this update. The 32 bit preview, gain tool, and nested stacks were three things that was holding Logic back imo and it’s fantastic that they are finally here. The mixing possibilities with nested stacks are very cool…
They still need to refine the gain tool. It is kind of a bummer that you have to select a tool for this. (In other daws you just hover over the region). Hope they add it the click zone list. (Like the fade tool at top corner of region or marquee tool on lower half on region etc.)

Quick tip for mixing Kick + Bass: Group your Bass Layers in Bass Summing stack, Drum in Drum Summing Stack, then send your drums into a Hall bus (some little reverb, highpass'ed) that will fill the mix so nicely; sum Kick and Bass together, sidechain the bass to the kick slightly with a compressor and put a Glue compressor on the kickbass summing group to glue kick and bass together; after that, add some tube saturation: INSTANT PERFECTION ;)
